[0:00] Robert Bannon: Are you ready? It's The Roundtable with me, Robert Bannon.

[0:30] Robert Bannon: And I dream of hitting big like I want to tap that screen like her. I want to show my outfit like her. I want a lucky lanyard that she has. She is here. The Goddess of Slots is on The Roundtable. Welcome to the show.

[0:48] Lorraine Ziff: Thank you. Thank you so much. I appreciate it. I will get you the lucky lanyard. I promise.

[0:54] Robert Bannon: Look, Goddess of Slots, I don't know where you're going to be in a couple of weeks, but I'm coming to New Jersey. And if you're in Atlantic City, I'm coming. I'm finding you.

[1:03] Lorraine Ziff: Okay, good, good. I will be here. I will be in New Jersey, which is where I'm right now. I'm actually at LBI. You can probably see the sun behind me. And I go to Atlantic City a lot. And then I'm going to be in Vegas, actually, first week in August, because we're filming something that I just found out about. And then Florida and then back to Jersey. So yes, let me know.

[1:32] Robert Bannon: See, I love, okay, I have so many questions for you. Okay. I'm obsessed. I have done 1000 interviews, Goddess of Slots. And I don't want to call you Goddess of Slots to call you Lorraine. I will call you whatever.

[1:44] Lorraine Ziff: You can call me. You can call me Lorraine. That's fine.

[1:46] Robert Bannon: Lorraine, you are an actress. Like you are a very accomplished IMDb credits out the wazoo actress. And you still are an actress. And you've done a lot of work in show business. So where were you from? And when did you want to get in this business?

[2:02] Lorraine Ziff: Thank you. That's true. I'm from New York originally. And I wanted to do this for my whole life. So I actually went to school for it and got degrees in it. And I did a million other things, but I always kept coming back to it.

[2:17] Lorraine Ziff: So ironically enough, it was through the acting and being sort of in between acting jobs when I threw some money into a slot machine and it hit and it went viral. And a director actually saw that on a post, because I posted it and contacted me and said, Hey, we're doing this gambling comedy. And how about we get you in?

[2:41] Lorraine Ziff: And I was like, yeah. And so I'm coming in as an actress, but also as the character of Goddess of Slots, which I created to stay relevant within the acting world simply during COVID. So it's insane the way it all sort of came together.

[2:57] Robert Bannon: And it tied together and now people can follow you on social media and then they could watch you and the show. Maybe I'm wrong. I was on your website. The show is out. It's coming out. We can watch the show.

[3:09] Lorraine Ziff: It's a TV series called Unsuited. It comes out in October, I believe. And I think it's going to be on Amazon and I will keep you posted.

[3:19] Robert Bannon: I'm telling you, even if you never gamble, even if you have never put $20 in a slot machine, the way you do it is what makes it entertaining. It is fun. Did you ever think that this was going to become a thing?

[3:34] Lorraine Ziff: Never in my wildest dreams ever did I think this would be anything. And so that's what makes it so much fun.

[3:42] Lorraine Ziff: You're also, I know, an entertainer, so I know that you know all about this stuff, but memorizing scripts is not one of my favorite things to do.

[3:54] Lorraine Ziff: And here I get to absolutely just ad-lib and have fun. And people are like, you sound like a weather lady or you sound like this or you sound like that. I'm like, okay, good. People call me Vanna White of the slots all the time.

[4:08] Robert Bannon: That's what I want. That's perfect. I get what you do because I never dreamed of having this show. I was an actor. I went to acting school. I sang and I hate memorizing lines and I hate people telling me what to do.

[4:21] Robert Bannon: I hate a director that says, stand over there, say it like that. I just am who I am. So this allows me to be me and that and the goddess of slots allows you to be you. And it's hit hundreds of thousands of followers. You get recognized all over casinos around the world.

[4:37] Lorraine Ziff: I do. It's crazy. I actually get to, my favorite part, I get to meet people. I get to give them hugs. I get to give them these lucky lanyards, which has become a thing. I was just at a casino last night, which you'll see the post, and I hit for $17,000, which was like, wow, I know.

[4:58] Lorraine Ziff: And people were standing around and at first I wasn't hitting and I said, oh my gosh, I forgot to put my own lucky lanyard on. And I put the lucky lanyard on the card and I hit. And so I got to meet a whole bunch of people last night who were like, give me those. And I did.

[5:14] Robert Bannon: I'm going to find you. I'm going to get mine. I'm in Detroit. We live in Detroit now. I moved to Detroit. You know, we do have casinos here, Lorraine.

[5:23] Lorraine Ziff: I will have to check that out. I will absolutely have to. Because I'll come to you and we can gamble.

[5:29] Robert Bannon: All right now. I'm ready. Now, see, here's what I like about you. I have some questions. I hope they're not too personal. Here's my question.

[5:36] Lorraine Ziff: Yes. Yes.

[5:37] Robert Bannon: You hit for, I believe, your viral, how much did you win when you went viral?

[5:43] Lorraine Ziff: It was not a huge jackpot. It was only about $1,500, which anything at that time over $1,200 was considered a hand pay. And now in today's standards, it's anything over $2,000. But it's not like I hit for a million dollars.

[6:00] Robert Bannon: Right.

[6:01] Lorraine Ziff: It was just that, you know, I hit it and my reaction was so big and goofy. I think that people appreciated that. So I've had big hits. I've had $57,000 and $74,000 hits. But that's what that's what kicked it all off.

[6:17] Lorraine Ziff: And somebody said to me, did you know that there's a whole world out there of these gambling influencers? I had no idea. And I was like, you're kidding. And no, that's so that's how it got started. And, you know,

[6:33] Robert Bannon: I didn't know about gambling influencers either. And then I learned about other people like that are your friends that you gamble with, like Vegas Matt, who has slot machines online. And I'm ready for the goddess of slot slot machine is my dream.

[6:45] Lorraine Ziff: Oh, I just lost. No, I'm here. Are you? Do you see me? Hold on. No, I just lost you. I apologize for that. Oh, my gosh.

[6:59] Robert Bannon: You're fine.

[7:01] Lorraine Ziff: This is insane. Are we live right now?

[7:03] Robert Bannon: No, we are not. You're good. We could edit anything.

[7:07] Lorraine Ziff: There you are.

[7:09] Lorraine Ziff: I want the goddess of slot slot machine.

[7:12] Lorraine Ziff: I want the goddess of slot slot machine. I love that idea. My little symbol that I've trademarked is a slot machine.

[7:20] Lorraine Ziff: Yes.

[7:21] Lorraine Ziff: So I don't see why we couldn't do that. I think that that would be wonderful. I have to get a manufacturer who's interested in that.

[7:28] Robert Bannon: So when you walk in, here's my questions for you. If you walk into a casino, like I see you at, there are certain you go to the I love the Borgata. I'm not trying to I don't get paid for any of these places.

[7:38] Lorraine Ziff: No, I do. That's where I was last night.

[7:41] Robert Bannon: Okay. I love the Borgata. I love it there on the marina in Atlantic City. Shout out to the Borgata.

[7:46] Lorraine Ziff: When you walk in, do they like you to come to the casino? Do you have a good relationship with casinos? Do they know you're coming? What is the behind the scenes of the relationship you have with them?

[7:58] Lorraine Ziff: So it's interesting. The Borgata in particular is an MGM. It didn't used to be, but now it is. It's under their umbrella.

[8:06] Lorraine Ziff: And a lot of people were filming. The whole thing started because people were very discreetly on the DL filming themselves while they were winning.

[8:17] Lorraine Ziff: And I started standing by the machine. I'm like one of the only people in the beginning, I was the only person who ever stood by the machine.

[8:25] Lorraine Ziff: And I would get stopped by security pretty regularly, like you can't do that. And I'd be like, oh, you know, kind of schmooze my way through.

[8:33] Lorraine Ziff: Now in New Jersey in particular, they're very, very strict with what you can and you can't do.

[8:39] Lorraine Ziff: And I decided just to absolutely torture them every single day by sending letters and notes and posts and saying, look, here I am. I'm promoting you guys. You're not paying me a dime.

[8:51] Lorraine Ziff: It's all my own money going in there. I'm not harming you and I'm not getting anyone else in the video.

[8:57] Lorraine Ziff: And finally, they broke down. And so I was the first influencer to be allowed to film at the Borgata.

[9:05] Lorraine Ziff: And I think I'm still one of the only influencers who does that. So Hard Rock in Florida, for example, is Florida's like the Wild West.

[9:15] Lorraine Ziff: They don't answer to a lot of people. It's a whole different ball of wax. You walk in there, you could do whatever the heck you want.

[9:21] Lorraine Ziff: You have to be respectful to other people. Vegas is harder. If you're in the high limit room, they won't let you film in certain places.

[9:30] Lorraine Ziff: Because the take on it is what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. And they keep trying to protect their customers, which I can appreciate.

[9:40] Lorraine Ziff: But there are places that you can film. And again, as long as you agree not to have other people in it.

[9:47] Lorraine Ziff: So the Hard Rock, I think it was in Atlantic City, finally came to me and said, you know, fill this paperwork out and we'll approve you.

[9:56] Lorraine Ziff: So they approved me. And then that Hard Rock carried. I had to go through every single one of them, actually. Florida said fine.

[10:03] Lorraine Ziff: Atlantic City said fine. And the Borgata kind of finally broke down. They were like, fine, be respectful. Don't get anyone else on.

[10:13] Lorraine Ziff: But at this point, when I have the discretion, of course, but when I come in, at this point in my life, people know that when I come in, they're going to be looking for lucky lanyards.

[10:27] Lorraine Ziff: They're going to be looking for, you know, whatever. If we have an organized meet and greet, that is the casino helps me to set it all up and to have people come.

[10:37] Lorraine Ziff: And then that becomes a big event. And if we have, if it's just me popping in, then it's just me popping in. And if there's a crowd, it's OK.

[10:47] Lorraine Ziff: And I think casinos like that. I try to tell people, hey, I'll sort of kind of be in this state during this week. So find me.

[10:56] Lorraine Ziff: You know, I'm like, where's Waldo at this point?

[10:59] Robert Bannon: Find her. I love that. And I love the Hard Rock. I've gotten to perform in the Florida Hard Rock. I love the Guitar Hotel. The Guitar Hotel is a whole shebang and pool and moment.

[11:09] Lorraine Ziff: Oh, yeah. In Hollywood.

[11:10] Robert Bannon: In Hollywood. Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous. And Tampa. And shout out to the Hard Rock family as well. I love that you get to go in here. I love that you kind of broke your way in and did not care. Have you always been a gambler?

[11:23] Lorraine Ziff: You know what? It's interesting. I really have not. My dad definitely was. We lived right down the street from the Yonkers racetrack. And so I knew everything there was to know about horses. More than I ever wanted to know about horses.

[11:41] Lorraine Ziff: But not casinos, really, or anything like that. So I didn't gamble. We didn't have any money to spend on gambling. So, I mean, my dad did. But, you know, obviously, I didn't. Once in a while, we'd go to Atlantic City as a goof, you know. But I would say not really. It really wasn't my thing. I like craps. But that's, again, it was a once in a while thing.

[12:07] Robert Bannon: Well, I love that. And I love that you have certain games. I learned about this coin game. Now, I'm going to prove that I really watch her. So there's this coin game that she likes. Okay. See, I'm old school. I like the reels. I know people don't like the reels. I like a reel.

[12:22] Lorraine Ziff: No, you're smart. You're smart.

[12:24] Robert Bannon: I like a reel. Everyone wants to run to Family Feud and Whitney Houston. I love Whitney. But I don't feel like the celebrity games are where it's at.

[12:33] Lorraine Ziff: 100%, you're right.

[13:39] Lorraine Ziff: I am so excited. So the money that's in the machine, that's really your money?

[13:44] Robert Bannon: Oh yes, yes. Every dime is really my money. Win, lose, or draw.

[13:50] Lorraine Ziff: Does it scare you to put a lot of money? Because sometimes there's a lot of money in the machine.

[13:55] Robert Bannon: Sometimes there is. So a couple of things. The one thing I always say is have an entertainment budget. So somebody might put money aside for what they would do to go see dinner and a show. If that's what you can afford, take that money, put it on the side. Back in the day, my bets were $12.50. They've increased a little bit. I would say stay away from the celebrity games like you're talking about because they have to pay a royalty on those. So the return to play or the money you're going to get paid out is going to be less. So you're smart to avoid those. But yeah, the money in there is mine. The money out of there is mine. It's funny you bring that up because sometimes when I'm filming, if I'm not in a great bonus or if I'm not winning, you can tell by my personality and my demeanor and my camera guys will always be like, you should have ramped that up. And I'm like, you're on a journey with me. If I'm happy, I'm happy. And if I'm not, I can't hide that. I'm always trying to smile. But if I'm losing, I'm a human being with real emotions.

[15:04] Lorraine Ziff: Yes. People I think want to ask, you do lose. There are days where you do not win $15,000.

[15:13] Robert Bannon: Absolutely. Absolutely. So on Instagram, for example, that is very short clips. I'll put short wins and short losses. YouTube will have the whole shebang. So you'll get to really take the journey with me all the way through of how my day was. But yeah, I try to put up everything. And there are some days that are great. And there are some days that aren't great. But also, I'm a very lucky person.

[15:36] Robert Bannon: You are. You are. Okay. And I never knew about the YouTube goddess of slots. I need to go to YouTube. Hold on.

[15:47] Lorraine Ziff: I'm all over the place. I'm on all social media. Okay. All the links are going to be below. So you got to follow and it's a fun journey. You know, it's like kids who watch people play video. It's a very big world of people who watch people play video games.

[16:00] Robert Bannon: Oh, I know. And I like to watch people play because I sneak and look. I hear the bell ringing. I want to see what they win. And I want to see what's going on. I want to see someone win a bonus. Now you can see that all right here with the goddess of slots at home. So when you are playing, sometimes you have big denominations. Sometimes you don't. I've seen you play $200 a spin. I've seen you drop it to $25 a spin, etc. Sometimes you're in the smoking section. Sometimes you're in the non-smoking section. Sometimes you're in the high. Sometimes it's a nickel machine. Sometimes it's a $20 denomination. Do varying things really matter?

[16:45] Lorraine Ziff: I do that specifically because some folks will, some influencers will play only the highest, the highest, the highest. And that's wonderful and exciting to watch. But also, that's not everyone's realities. So I'm fine with playing the lower denominations as well. I want to be able to bring you, as I said, on a journey. We're buddies, right? We're going to the casino together. And so let's do this. And sometimes we'll play high. Sometimes we'll play lower. The one thing I would say is always play as high to the max bet, no matter what your denomination is. So if you're playing a nickel machine, try to go as high to the right as you can afford. And that's why sometimes when bets are high, sometimes they're low. Depends on what I'm bringing into the casino that night to gamble, too. But I want to appeal to everybody.

[17:32] Robert Bannon: So this is good advice. And then sometimes she's betting max bet. Then she goes down to four times. Then she goes back up to max bet. Then she goes down to two times. You feel it out. So how long do you usually have it a stretch in the casino playing?

[17:41] Lorraine Ziff: Again, it depends on my mood. There's a little bit of woo-woo going on, too. Because if I walk in and I'm like, nope, I'm not feeling it, I will get out, which is baddie. But every gambler is superstitious. So there's that. But if you read the game rules, you'll see. And that's another thing people don't do. People don't take the opportunity to read the game rules. And every machine offers them. Sometimes it'll say max bet to be able to qualify for the bonus, like pinball, for example. If you don't bet max bet, you won't qualify. Sometimes it'll say the higher denomination will get you into things. Sometimes that's not true. Unlike the link games, some of the link games, it's not true that you have to do that.

But everything is a computer. So that's what you have to keep in mind. Now for like Dragon Link, for example, if I see the money balls in the first three columns within the first eight spins, I'll stay. If I don't, I'm like, you know what, I'm not feeling this machine. It's not giving me anything. I've put in X amount of spins. When I play top dollar, if I don't have something in the first like 10 spins or so, I'm like, ah, I'm out. So you have to have a little bit of discipline. That's what I learned. The discipline of it is what's interesting. Walk away. Don't chase it because you feel like it's coming. If it's not coming, it's not coming. If it's coming, it's going to happen.

[19:20] Robert Bannon: Yeah, that's really, really true. Because at the end of the day, every one of those machines is a computer. They don't care about your feelings or your emotions or what you think is happening. It's just a computer. And that's something we have to keep in mind. Another thing, if you see, you know, like the pots, if they look like they're full and any second they're going to explode, that's BS. They're not. It's all optical illusions. And I've spoken to the machine manufacturers, so I know this firsthand. You know, that's taught me because, you know, and my friend Mike said, don't let it get you if they're full and blinking and shaking and jumping. And I'm like, it's coming. Put another hundred dollars in and they never come. And then you play somewhere else that are empty and then it's off with nothing.

[20:03] Lorraine Ziff: Exactly. That's exactly right. Now, some machines will, they say that when a certain machine gets to a certain point, like a dragon length, depending upon what their limit is, if it gets to a certain number, they say, well, it's going to, it's due to hit, you know, technically. But it used to be that everybody knew that now in Hollywood, for example, they took the little label off that said, if it's at a certain number, it doesn't, it will hit. They took that label off. Do you know why? Because they changed things around. It doesn't have to hit at that number. And then taking the label off is their way of protecting themselves by saying there is no ceiling. It doesn't have to hit at a certain number. And I'm not speaking out of school here because those labels are not on the machine. So it's good for people to be aware of that.

[20:59] Robert Bannon: You know what I love about you is you're very pro the player. And like, there are people who get paid and get lots of fun, fancy things from casinos to get people in to give their money. You want to see people win. You don't get paid by the casinos. You're not, you're not there to have the casinos take people's money. You want people to walk out with the wins.

[21:15] Lorraine Ziff: I really, really do. Because to me, it's always been sort of us against the casinos. And Chase, isn't that the greatest feeling in the world? Everybody's screaming and clapping and high fiving together. To me, that's what I live for. It's, it's the hit. Yes. But the hugs and the cheering each other on, that's the emotion that I chase more than a win, actually.

[21:40] Robert Bannon: I love it. I love it so much. I want people to go to goddessofslots.com where you can go buy your Lucky Land. You can buy everything from a t-shirt to a luggage tag. You can see other interviews that she's done. You can stay tuned for Unsuited with Tom Arnold and the goddess of slots, Lorraine herself. You can hear all about what you've done and you can see all about what she's done. And if you go to her Instagram or YouTube and see her win, I don't know, $70,000, $50,000. I live so, my, my bucket list is to play, watch you. I don't even want to play. I want to just watch you play and cheer and yell and scream. I'm going to find you. I'm going to find you and I want to gamble with you. I think it would be a blast.

[22:23] Lorraine Ziff: All right. That's it. I'm going to get, my husband is a gambler. He plays the lottery. He has the phone. He goes, we go to the casino in a minute, but we love a night out at the, there's nothing more fun than a night out at the casino. Let me tell you something. I'm in the works right now for a goddess of slots cruise and you guys should come on my cruise. As soon as I have more info on it, I'm going to let you know, because we did a goddess of slots cruise on Virgin Voyages, I guess, last year. This is going to be a different cruise line. Oh my God. I mean, I gave swag out like crazy. I gambled with everybody. I was just as much on the dance floor because I love to dance with everybody. We went out to specialty dinners. I mean, I made it a thing. Let's go.

[23:13] Robert Bannon: That sounds like, yeah, we can have a lot of fun.

[23:15] Lorraine Ziff: I'm in. I'm ready to go. Look, and what I love about you is you're not just a gambling person. Like you are someone who, besides acting about your business, you have a whole life outside of the casino too. You're not just, this is not just who you are.

[23:28] Robert Bannon: That's true. That's very, very true. I have a lot of other things happening with the acting. In fact, I just last night, this is a scoop, just last night got picked up. I'm going to be in a movie actually with Marty Kove. We're going to be filming in Nashville. So I just got the script last night and I was reading it just a little while ago.

[23:47] Lorraine Ziff: I love him. I love him. Karate kid forever. I'm excited for all of this.

[23:53] Robert Bannon: So we're going to follow you. I'll be following you. I know how to get in touch with her. Listen, you have to watch out because you're going to see me out with her when I'm happening. Watch when she's in Atlantic City. I'm coming. I'm going to be like, Borgata's of Sloth, I'm here. Where are you?

[24:08] Lorraine Ziff: I'm coming.

[24:09] Robert Bannon: I'm going to find you. I'll meet you. I will meet you at the noodles restaurant at the Borgata.

[24:15] Lorraine Ziff: I'm coming.

[24:16] Robert Bannon: I love the noodles restaurant. I was there last night.

[24:19] Lorraine Ziff: That's my spot. That's my spot. I am such a fan. I have had so many wonderful people on the show. But when you talk, there's a part of me that's like, I really watch her. I really am a fan of hers. She is someone I know.

[24:34] Lorraine Ziff: Thank you.

[24:36] Robert Bannon: Thank you for being here. Thank you for giving me so much joy. You get me sucked in and I love every single second. I'm rooting you on and learning so much. And I love your energy and who you are and your outfits and your fashion and your personality. It's all it is a win for me. I love it. Thank you so much for being here.

[24:52] Lorraine Ziff: I appreciate you so much. You are a winner all the way through. So gamble or not, you are.

[24:58] Robert Bannon: Right back at you, Goddess of Slots. Thank you.
