Lorna Luft is an American actress and singer with a career spanning Broadway, film, television, and concert stages. Born on November 21, 1952, in Santa Monica, California, she is the daughter of Judy Garland and producer Sid Luft, and the half-sister of Liza Minnelli.
Luft made her Broadway debut in 1967, performing alongside her mother in Judy Garland at Home at the Palace. She later took over the role of Fran Kubelik in Promises, Promises in 1971. Her other Broadway credits include portraying Miss Adelaide in the 1992–1994 revival of Guys and Dolls and starring as Martha Watson in multiple productions of Irving Berlin’s White Christmas from 2009 to 2019. Off-Broadway, she appeared as Peppermint Patty in Snoopy!!! The Musical in 1983 and in Extremities.
Her national and international touring credits include leading roles in They're Playing Our Song, Grease, Gypsy, Mame, and The Unsinkable Molly Brown. In 1990, she starred as Miss Adelaide in a U.S. and world tour of Guys and Dolls.
In film and television, Luft is known for her roles in Grease 2 (1982), Where the Boys Are '84 (1984), 54 (1998), and My Giant (1998). She had a recurring role as Nurse Libby Kegler on Trapper John, M.D. and made guest appearances on shows such as Murder, She Wrote.
As an author, Luft wrote the memoir Me and My Shadows: A Family Memoir, which was adapted into the Emmy-winning miniseries Life with Judy Garland: Me and My Shadows, where she served as co-executive producer.
