Jeff Calhoun is an American theater director, choreographer, producer, and former dancer. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1960. His early performance work included appearances in Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and My One and Only, before he moved into choreography and directing.
On Broadway, Calhoun’s credits include directing and choreographing Grease, Jekyll & Hyde, 9 to 5, Newsies, Bonnie & Clyde, Brooklyn, Big River, and Tommy Tune Tonite!, among others. He has also directed and choreographed works with Deaf West Theatre, including a revival of Big River. Most recently, he is slated to helm and choreograph the world-premiere production of Elephant Shoes, a bilingual (ASL and spoken English) musical, at Two River Theater.
