Giant, written by Mark Rosenblatt, is a searing and intellectually charged drama that explores a controversial chapter in the life of world-renowned children’s author Roald Dahl. Set in 1983 at Dahl’s home in the English countryside, the play takes place in the immediate aftermath of an antisemitic article he wrote in the Literary Review. As the public outcry grows, Dahl is visited by Tom Maschler, his Jewish publisher, and Jessie Stone, a young Jewish sales executive from his American publishing house. What begins as a strategic meeting to manage a public relations crisis quickly spirals into a fierce battle of wills, forcing the characters to confront the uncomfortable intersection of private prejudice and public responsibility.
