[0:00] Andrew: We've got a mission to find the best song that's ever been on Glee.

[0:09] Andrew: There's no rhyme or reason to it, so don't get mad at me.

[0:18] Andrew: Gleek it by Gleek it, we'll rank everyone to see which song will move closer to spot number one.

[0:26] Andrew: Gleek of the Week, Gleek, Gleek, Gleek of the Week. It's Gleek, Gleek of the Week.

[0:35] Andrew: I have three goals for today. First goal is, you know, get rid of two more songs in the glacket. Second goal, talk about the Gleeboot inevitably. And third goal, talk with my friends. And I think that I will accomplish all three within however long it takes. Um, so I want to bring in... This is really weird vibe starting an episode. Um, it's...

[1:01] Andrew: I think people are mad.

[1:10] Andrew: Wait, are people mad?

[1:12] Patrick: Someone is. At least one person.

[1:14] Andrew: People are mad. Maybe the people that are on this episode. Um, Patrick and Emily. Emily, not of Emily's Rule fame. Emily of Riverdeep fame.

[1:25] Andrew: No, not the Emily of Emily's Rule.

[1:28] Emily: Yes, but um, but an Emily nonetheless. And Emily, you've been on the podcast a few times before. This is what, number?

[1:35] Emily: I have. Three. Number three.

[1:37] Andrew: Number three. Okay. And Patrick, he made him, he had a make a wish. And his make a wish was doing an episode with Emily of Riverdeep fame. And I was like, of course, I'm going to oblige. I love that girl so much.

[1:51] Patrick: Wait, you had to make a wish? What do you mean? Did you tell Andrew?

[1:55] Patrick: I had said, like, a long time ago, I was like, get Emily and me on the pod. And then I haven't talked to you about it recently. So I was very delighted when Andrew hit us up.

[2:06] Andrew: No, I store these things in my head.

[2:08] Andrew: Yeah, I remember. I remember messaging Patrick in like January and being like, 2026. We're gonna be on the clock together. It's our year.

[2:15] Emily: Well, Emily and I have podcasted together on her podcast.

[2:20] Emily: We have.

[2:22] Andrew: Yeah, so we have some chemistry, you know, and I feel like generally have like very similar takes because after I record an episode, sometimes she's like,

[2:35] Emily: I'm not now I'm getting afraid. Is this going to be an echo chamber episode?

[2:39] Andrew: But also, Andrew, don't you and I usually have the same takes, except for last week, we'll get into that.

[2:44] Emily: Except for last week, we need okay, wait, so put a pin in it. Are we putting a pin in that?

[2:49] Andrew: Are we putting a pin in that? And we're not we're not gonna bring that up later.

[2:52] Emily: I feel like I don't like it when we're grievancing, like within one minute, like, don't we have stuff to talk about? What's everyone up to?

[3:00] Andrew: Okay, to warm up?

[3:01] Patrick: No, we do need to warm up. Do you do you and Emily have similar takes when it pertains to...

[3:07] Andrew: I feel like now is this going to be kind of the another question that we start off episodes? What are your thoughts on the Gleeboot? What do you think about what's going on?

[3:18] Emily: Which I would like to know both of your ideas of what's happening.

[3:22] Emily: I feel like I have a similar opinion to most Gleeks, which is that I'm happy that there's a Gleeboot. But like, I also am like very, I'm weary about it. Like the thing is that you could do a Gleeboot whenever, like the formula is there. All you need is like a teacher who wants to start a glee club who's passionate about it. And you can get some kids you really do a Gleeboot whenever you want.

[3:53] Patrick: Whenever you want. Yeah. And be like, the formula is there. Would you be mad? If the if they do kind of like a regurgitation of Rachel being the director, the coach, the teacher, again?

[4:12] Emily: That's my thing is like, I'm for a Gleeboot. I honestly want as little of the original cast as possible. Like I want them to just have like cameos, but I don't think that's gonna happen.

[4:22] Patrick: Well, that's what I was kind of confused by because I feel like recent discourse has been, oh, the cast is interested in stuff like that. And I'm like, why does that matter? Like, they're not going to be in it. Are they?

[4:39] Emily: The cast is interested. Why should they be interested in being? Because what is it?

[4:46] Andrew: I know, Andrew, you've said before, and you said it in last week's episode, that your vision was always we're getting a new crop of people and whatever. But then like recent discourse has now been like, well, what are all the characters up to now and stuff like that?

[5:04] Emily: And yeah, I don't know how I feel about it anymore. Because I can't imagine a Gleeboot that's not really just like a new cast of people. Like I don't really want a Gleeboot with like, you know, where's without without the club?

[5:23] Patrick: Yeah, or even? I don't know. I think even season six was hard enough to shoehorn in like a lot of people coming back to Lima, Ohio. So like, now, what are they doing?

[5:35] Emily: I mean, I'm seated all I do want it. I just don't have a lot of confidence that like, it's going to be good if they center it too much on the old cast because I'm like, what stories are left to tell? Like everyone got their quote, unquote, happy ending.

[5:48] Patrick: And I don't know. So I feel like I've been weirded out. Since the news broke. I know a lot of people have been excited. Andrew, you've been like, yay, I've just kind of been like, like, what is I'm scared.

[6:01] Emily: I feel like they're, it's like, like, they can't win. Like, I feel like people are going to be upset if the original cast isn't in it. And then people are going to be upset if they're in it too much as well.

[6:16] Patrick: Ah, I feel like it's gonna be like criticized no matter what, which is kind of annoying. Like, I think in the last episode, you asked if, like, it's gonna be like really hard to please the Gleeks. I kind of feel like it's impossible. Like somebody's gonna complain no matter what, you know what I mean?

[6:32] Emily: I think that the general population also doesn't really want this.

[6:38] Patrick: Yeah. So I'm like, at least when Glee first started, like the general population was like, oh my gosh, wait, this is so fun. And then the Gleeks were born. And now I feel like it's going to be the Gleeks are like, what's going on? And the general population is gonna be like, why are you bringing this back?

[6:52] Emily: I could be wrong. And I don't want this to be like, a bunch of hate. Like, I am excited. I feel like we're being so negative. There's now discourse. I just, I think I need more details. And I don't trust Ryan Murphy. So that's where I'm like, especially with his reason. I'm sorry, his recent shows have been really not good.

[7:10] Patrick: It does give, he's bored. He's just, I think he's just bored. And he wants to just like,

[7:17] Emily: I think he is, I've always thought it was so interesting that Ryan Murphy follows, he doesn't follow a lot of accounts, but he does follow the history of Glee Instagram account, which I'm like, oh, he does keep tabs on like, kind of like, oh, like, it's like kind of living at least some place in his day to day, if he's engaging with that social media.

[7:42] Patrick: I don't know. I think he is bored. I am like, cautiously optimistic.

[7:47] Emily: I think we all should be.

[7:51] Patrick: Yeah. But like, I think that more people would be upset if it was like, almost like entirely new casts, rather than what we seem to be getting with, you know, checking in on these pre-existing characters.

[8:05] Emily: Like, I imagine-

[8:07] Andrew: So here, I think this is what I need-

[8:10] Patrick: Almost like a Camp Rock three.

[8:13] Andrew: Andrew and Emily, what is your like, percentage of cast, like old cast in the show? Like, how much screen time will they get as a collective? Like, what percentage? Is it like, 70%? Is it 50%? Is it 10%? That's what I'm trying to wrap my head around. And I don't know if like, everyone's thinking about it in the same way. Because before, I was like, they're just gonna have little cameos. But after like, recent interviews, and some of the cast being like, hinting at stuff, I'm like, oh, are they gonna, like be in it more?

[8:47] Emily: So like, maybe what do you think it's going to be? And what is your preference? Because my preference is like, they're in it like 20% or less. But I think it's going to be like, 50, 60, 70%, which is like, strange to me. And I can't wrap my head around that right now.

[9:03] Patrick: I said it in the last episode, but I really want them to almost play Holly Holiday roles, where it's like coming in once or twice a season. I think that's fun.

[9:15] Andrew: Um, what I don't want it to be is, like, as much as I love this episode, and I'm using it as an example negatively, Jagged Little Tapestry that like, I like, why is I love Quinn being in that episode, but Quinn does not need to be in that episode. Ultimately.

[9:37] Emily: Yeah, we're playing in the in the mashup.

[9:40] Andrew: Right, that it's like, we don't anyway, like season two is my question.

[9:46] Emily: Um, so that's how I feel. Andrew, how do you feel?

[9:50] Andrew: I agree. I would like for them to just like, kind of show up every once in a while, kind of like, I know, Patrick will get this reference, the High School Musical, the Musical series show.

[10:01] Patrick: Oh, wasn't it?

[10:05] Andrew: Yeah, I feel in that for like an episode or two.

[10:08] Patrick: Yeah, he was like a dream sequence in the first season.

[10:09] Andrew: Yeah.

[10:13] Emily: Okay, I'm picturing something like that. It doesn't have to be a dream sequence. But like, yeah, it's like, come back and like, let people know.

[10:17] Patrick: There are shows that do it like effectively to a degree. I know that lately, for whatever reason, I keep bringing up Degrassi, but there was like, a version of it in the 70s and 80s and stuff. And then in the early 2000s, when they remade it, they centered around like, a character who had had a kid and stuff like that. And so the kid was the main character. And then, like in the first few episodes, a lot of the old characters were like coming back, and you're getting like a little peek into their lives. But they weren't all together as like a group or a collective.

[10:52] Emily: And then as the series kept going, they did pick a few of the, you know, iconic characters of the past to kind of be series regulars. And then everyone else like, kind of faded away. So I could see something like that, or like maybe a few of them are like main-ish characters, and then the other ones pop in here and there. And Andrew, that's how your vision, I think, could come to life. And I would be okay with that. But I would still want them to like, not have a lot of their time.

[11:15] Patrick: Wait, Patrick, wait, did you watch the original Degrassi?

[11:22] Patrick: I did, but in reverse order. Like, I watched it like, after I had seen all the next generation.

[11:28] Emily: Okay, so my question, which was posed in last week's episode, is that like, are we going to get kind of like, the similar kind of like, teen tropes that original Glee had?

[11:43] Patrick: So I'm asking with like, Degrassi, that it's like, hey, did you find them to be like, kind of like copy-pasting a lot of the same kind of archetypes, storylines that they did?

[11:49] Patrick: They did.

[11:56] Patrick: I mean, there was of course like, teen pregnancy and like, abortion and stuff. But there was like, a really famous episode they did in the 80s of like, HIV-AIDS and stuff, where like, one character was diagnosed with that. And like, they didn't tackle that again in like, the 2000s, because I felt like that was still relevant, but like, less of like, the cultural consensus of like, what like, makes sense to make a story out of.

[12:16] Emily: So I, yeah, they did recycle it, but they always did it in a different way. And I felt like, even within the context of that show, and I only bring it up because it's a high school TV show with teen tropes, and it was on forever. And like, even within like, the seasons that aired when we were, you know, teenagers, they did teen pregnancy like, five times, but they did it differently each time.

[12:45] Patrick: So I could see them taking stuff from like, the old Glee stuff, and like, redoing it. Even within Glee, they did Kurt's coming out, and then look how different Santana's coming out was, and how it resonated with different people, and people took different stuff away from it. So I think I'm not too worried about that. But I'm more worried as a whole about like, what the conceit of the show is. But only time will tell.

[13:06] Emily: Yeah. Well, what comes to mind for me as we're talking about this is like, I don't know, for some reason, I keep on thinking about how Glee tackled eating disorder plot lines, that like, they, they did, I think, badly, that it's like, there were so many storylines that are so famous on Glee that are like, tackled poorly, that it's like, maybe I'm being too

[13:32] Andrew: Welcome back to Gleek of the Week! This week, I’m joined by Emily McLaughlin and Patrick Sammon. We’re diving into the second competition from last week’s episode, and let me tell you, we are capital M Mad about it!

[13:52] Emily McLaughlin: I mean, it was quite the competition. I have so many thoughts on the Gleeboot and how it’s evolving.

[14:02] Patrick Sammon: Absolutely! I think Mike Chang giving Ben 10 was a standout moment for me. It really showcased his character development.

[14:22] Andrew: Right? And we’ll definitely get into that. But first, let’s talk about the winner of the Glacket this week: Taylor the Latte Boy. What did you both think of that choice?

[14:42] Emily McLaughlin: I was thrilled! It’s such a fun performance, and it really captures the spirit of the show.

[15:02] Patrick Sammon: I agree! It’s catchy and memorable. Plus, who doesn’t love a good latte?

[15:22] Andrew: Exactly! Now, let’s jump into the songs we’re discussing this episode. We have “Mamma Mia,” “Maybe This Time,” “Run Joey Run,” and “To Sir With Love.” Which one do you want to tackle first?

[15:42] Emily McLaughlin: Let’s start with “Mamma Mia.” It’s such a classic!

[16:02] Patrick Sammon: Yes! The energy in that performance is infectious. I love how they brought the whole cast together for it.

[16:22] Andrew: It really felt like a celebration. The choreography was on point, and the harmonies were fantastic.

[16:42] Emily McLaughlin: And the costumes! They really embraced the spirit of the musical.

[17:02] Patrick Sammon: For sure! It’s hard not to smile when you watch that number.

[17:22] Andrew: Moving on to “Maybe This Time,” what are your thoughts on that performance?

[17:42] Emily McLaughlin: It’s such a poignant moment. The emotion really comes through, and it’s a nice contrast to the upbeat “Mamma Mia.”

[18:02] Patrick Sammon: I love how it showcases the character’s vulnerability. It’s a powerful song.

[18:22] Andrew: Absolutely. It’s a reminder of the depth that Glee can bring to its performances.

[18:42] Emily McLaughlin: And then we have “Run Joey Run.” That one is a wild ride!

[19:02] Patrick Sammon: Oh my gosh, yes! The drama in that performance is off the charts.

[19:22] Andrew: It’s definitely one of those moments that sticks with you. The storytelling is so engaging.

[19:42] Emily McLaughlin: And the way they built up to the climax was just brilliant.

[20:02] Patrick Sammon: I think it’s one of those performances that really highlights the strengths of the ensemble.

[20:22] Andrew: Now, let’s talk about “To Sir With Love.” That song has such a special place in the Glee universe.

[20:42] Emily McLaughlin: It’s a beautiful tribute. The emotion is palpable, and it really resonates with the audience.

[21:02] Patrick Sammon: I think it’s one of the most heartfelt moments in the series. It captures the essence of what Glee is all about.

[21:22] Andrew: I couldn’t agree more. It’s a perfect way to honor the relationships built throughout the show.

[21:42] Emily McLaughlin: And the performances are just stellar. You can feel the connection between the characters.

[22:02] Patrick Sammon: It’s moments like these that remind us why we fell in love with Glee in the first place.

[22:22] Andrew: Exactly! So, which song do you think deserves to move forward in the Glacket this week?

[22:42] Emily McLaughlin: I’m leaning towards “To Sir With Love.” It’s just so impactful.

[23:02] Patrick Sammon: I’m with you on that. It’s hard to beat that level of emotion.

[23:22] Andrew: Great choices! We’ll see how it all shakes out in the Glacket.

[23:42] Emily McLaughlin: I can’t wait to see the results!

[24:02] Patrick Sammon: Same here! It’s always exciting to see which performances resonate the most with everyone.

[24:22] Andrew: Alright, let’s wrap up this segment and move on to our next topic.

[24:42] Emily McLaughlin: Sounds good!

[25:02] Patrick Sammon: Let’s do it!

[25:22] Andrew: Stay tuned, everyone! We’ll be right back after this break.

[25:42] ♪ Musical number: "Mamma Mia" — performed by the Glee Cast ♪

[26:02] Andrew: And we’re back! What a performance!

[27:05] Andrew: And she better come back, just for a second, she'll come back.

[27:10] Emily McLaughlin: Can we all agree that like, even do the Glee writers even believe that Quinn and Puck are still together?

[27:15] Patrick Sammon: No, I don't think they even believe it when they wrote it.

[27:23] Emily McLaughlin: Yeah. So I feel like I feel like I'm okay with a line of being like, kind of like, yeah, I did things with Puck years ago.

[27:27] Patrick Sammon: Mm hmm.

[27:36] Emily McLaughlin: This is kind of fucked up. But honestly, fuck him. Like, if they give like, oh, Santana's off and she's like, she's filming her third movie this year. She's having this great, great life and Puck is dead. And Puck is absolutely fucking dead. Like they're, they just like don't give a fuck about him.

[27:57] Patrick Sammon: I think they could pull it off.

[27:58] Andrew: They could pull it off. Sure. Do we got any Puck heads in the chat?

[28:03] Emily McLaughlin: No, I do think the Puck is funny. I think he's funny. This is a lineup. I'll stumble across like a Puck TikTok where it's like, there are some Gleeks that are obsessed with Puck and also Gleeks that are obsessed with Mark that I have a bigger question for.

[28:19] Patrick Sammon: That's okay. So yeah, anyway, with that. We've talked about bad opinions. Let's talk about last week. Maggie, this is a thing just for you. So everyone else turn off the podcast.

[28:37] Andrew: Patrick and Maggie are going to be fighting after this.

[28:40] Emily McLaughlin: No, Maggie said that she didn't think High School Musical the Musical the Series was good.

[28:47] Patrick Sammon: That's not acceptable. That's not, you can't say that out loud.

[28:51] Andrew: Okay, this is for Andrew and Maggie.

[28:55] Emily McLaughlin: No, it's like, it's so cute. Like if the Glee boot is of similar quality of High School Musical the Musical the Series, I'll actually be happy.

[29:06] Patrick Sammon: Me too. I'll be fine. I'll be content. I only watched season one, but.

[29:09] Emily McLaughlin: Season one, I had a good time.

[29:12] Patrick Sammon: Yeah.

[29:13] Emily McLaughlin: I remember one specific episode in season one. It was like toward the end of the season where the episode ended with like a fire starting in the school office like and I was like, oh my, me and Elias were like, oh, we literally wanted to go to bed, but we were like, now we need to watch the next episode to see how High School Musical the Musical the Series handles a fire.

[29:36] Andrew: Look at you smiling, grinning ear to ear. And you're like, High School Musical the Series isn't that good. But like, oh my god, guys, there's this one dad. But there was an episode that didn't have a big fire. I have to watch the next episode.

[29:50] Emily McLaughlin: See, that's what I'm talking about. I need to watch the next episode.

[29:54] Patrick Sammon: Yeah. So anyway, Maggie, you said it. She said it really quickly. It was a passing comment. She's like, and like, Disney Plus had no good show besides High School Musical the Series.

[30:02] Andrew: That's a good show. That's my first point. My second point.

[30:06] Emily McLaughlin: Wait, okay. Wait, before you move on to your second point. Do you want the Glee Boot to be the same quality as High School Musical the Musical the Series?

[30:15] Patrick Sammon: No, I want the Glee Boot to be much better, but if I get a quality that is similar to High School Musical the Musical the Series, I'll be fine with it because I liked it. I thought it was cute. I re-watched it all the time.

[30:31] Emily McLaughlin: The second season? All the time. People say it went off the rails. It has good songs. I thought it was beautiful.

[30:37] Patrick Sammon: Okay. I thought it was so dramatic. Okay. Beautiful. Can I move on to my second point now?

[30:44] Andrew: Yeah, you can move on.

[30:49] Patrick Sammon: What the hell is up with that last competition? That was crazy. I understand that you're both upset about that. I'm in agreement. We haven't really discussed why other than like the obvious.

[31:04] Emily McLaughlin: Well, what to me is obvious. And to Patrick. Can we, can we, can we name what the competition was in case people forget?

[31:11] Andrew: The competition was Happy Days Are Here Again, Get Happy against No Air.

[31:18] Patrick Sammon: Yes. No Air won. I was the deciding vote on it and you're both mad at me.

[31:25] Emily McLaughlin: And what is the obvious reason?

[31:27] Andrew: The year is 2026 and Allison Dodge has the most correct opinion out of three other geeks. Feel old yet?

[31:36] Patrick Sammon: I'm surprised that Allison voted the correct way and nobody else did. One thing that we forget about Allison is that she has taste.

[31:44] Emily McLaughlin: She does. She liked the last musical in the series.

[31:46] Patrick Sammon: Exactly. No, she didn't.

[31:49] Emily McLaughlin: No, she did not. No, we texted about it.

[31:56] Patrick Sammon: Wait, can you explain to me? Because can I say on No Air? I've been listening to a lot of it this past week and I was like, I want it to like not land to me so I can understand where you're coming from. But every time I listen to it, it's perfect to me.

[32:15] Emily McLaughlin: That's insane. Okay, why?

[32:18] Patrick Sammon: So imagine you're me, you're 16 years old, 15? I don't know. I'm in high school. I'm a sophomore and I remember my band teacher and I would talk about Glee every week. And so I'd be like, oh my God, you see Glee? He's like, yeah, it was so good. I'm like, okay. Then I go into band class and I get my saxophone and I'm sitting down and I'm like, band teacher, did you watch Glee? And he goes, I don't think I can watch the show anymore.

[32:53] Emily McLaughlin: And I say, why? And he goes, No Air? They were just auto-tuned. It was so awful. And I was like, he has a point. Why did they randomly start auto-tuning them?

[33:05] Patrick Sammon: You're being influenced. You're being influenced by your band teacher.

[33:07] Emily McLaughlin: And so then I have that memory in my head forever, but I genuinely don't. What did your band teacher say about Happy Days Are Here Again, Get Happy?

[33:16] Patrick Sammon: He wasn't watching anymore because No Air ruined it for him.

[33:21] Emily McLaughlin: Oh, right. It ruined everything. No Air ruined everything. But I think, even though it's a silly story and memory I have associated with that, it does kind of have a point. That was kind of the start of the Katy purification of Glee, in my opinion, where they're like, let's take No Air and add auto-tune to this. I was like, what the hell?

[33:43] Andrew: Okay, but also...

[33:44] Emily McLaughlin: Wait, I actually...

[33:45] Patrick Sammon: Go ahead.

[33:46] Andrew: No. Audio Medium, Andrew's speaking. I'm like, this is my podcast.

[33:52] Emily McLaughlin: No, I think that the auto-tune adds points. I think it's self-aware auto-tune.

[34:00] Patrick Sammon: You're giving... The thing is, you like it for the campiness of it, right? And the glee of it all.

[34:12] Emily McLaughlin: Yes. I get why you like it, but I'm just saying that, in comparison to Happy Days Are Here Again, you're telling me No Air is in the top 50 songs of Glee?

[34:27] Patrick Sammon: Well, it is. It literally should have been gone in round one. Every single competition it should have lost.

[34:33] Emily McLaughlin: Wait, actually, let's take a look at what it'd be to be here today. Emily said it really well, because it's just like, yeah, there's those little critiques I have of it, whatever, but like, yeah, I agree. You shouldn't have made it past round one. Poker Face?

[34:50] Patrick Sammon: In round one, yes, it won against Poker Face, and I was a bit mad about that. What's the next round?

[34:57] Emily McLaughlin: In round two, it was in the first episode of round two, and it won against... I think you'll agree with me. I Want To Dance With Somebody Who Loves Me?

[35:08] Patrick Sammon: Wrong.

[35:09] Emily McLaughlin: Wrong. Me and Emily love lesbians. I'm sorry. Like, there's a Britannia bias happening.

[35:17] Patrick Sammon: Yeah, okay. And then in round three, it won against...

[35:27] Emily McLaughlin: Okay, what's the third round?

[35:27] Patrick Sammon: Oh, and then she goes...

[35:30] Emily McLaughlin: Yeah, that's so much better than No Air.

[35:32] Patrick Sammon: What's the third round?

[35:33] Emily McLaughlin: And then the third round was against You Can't Stop The Beat.

[35:37] Patrick Sammon: What the heck? How did it beat all these songs? I mean, I don't really care about that song.

[35:41] Emily McLaughlin: But the Britney Cross Eye, that's better. That's better than No Air.

[35:46] Patrick Sammon: What's the fourth round? What did it beat?

[35:48] Emily McLaughlin: And then... Are we in the fourth round? Or the fifth round? We just saw it in Happy Days Are Here Again Get Happy.

[35:55] Patrick Sammon: I was like, wait, are you punking me?

[35:59] Emily McLaughlin: Okay, so I can see an argument for some of those songs. Not really.

[36:03] Patrick Sammon: Okay, but like, here's the one thing I'll say about the Happy Days Are Here Again Get Happy. Please. I think you, Andrew, are influenced by it having another rebirth of recent times because it had Ariana and Cynthia singing it. And then it also was featured in the series finale of Hacks.

[36:24] Emily McLaughlin: Oh my god, I forgot about that.

[36:27] Patrick Sammon: I forgot about that too. I feel like it is getting a lot of attention. Exposure. And I think what makes it really special is that was an entire generation of theater people's introduction to that song. The homage that they paid to that was wonderful.

[36:48] Emily McLaughlin: And it's so good. I think it's a perfect end to the end of the episode. I can't remember if it was Allison or Maggie or you making fun of Brittany doing the nose meatball thing, which was a comic relief moment. But overall, the tone was very serious. Like Kurt was tucking in his dad who was like, you know, working so hard and like, you know, it was showing how lonely some of the characters felt and like how they were like trying to, you know, make sense of like their lives at the moment. Like I thought it was so well done. Like the context of it, so good. And I think that them choosing to bring that to like a new generation of like theater lovers was really intentional and special and great. And I kind of am like annoyed that No Air beat it just because it's funny.

[37:39] Patrick Sammon: Like No Air is not even close to top 50 songs of Glee. I think it's like, it's maybe the worst Finchel duet.

[37:47] Emily McLaughlin: I think. No.

[37:48] Patrick Sammon: And they don't even sound good together. What's a better one?

[37:51] Emily McLaughlin: Okay. I mean, what's the worst one?

[37:53] Patrick Sammon: Well, I mean, I don't know. Are you, are you including like With You On Board again?

[37:58] Emily McLaughlin: Okay, that's purposely bad on purpose.

[38:00] Patrick Sammon: Okay, then how about, then riddle me this.

[38:04] Emily McLaughlin: I just can't stop loving you.

[38:07] Patrick Sammon: That one's just boring.

[38:10] Emily McLaughlin: I'll give you the MP4 of No Air over that.

[38:14] Patrick Sammon: But wait, you, you like No Air more?

[38:17] Emily McLaughlin: The MP4, yeah, because it's funny. But like the MP3, what are we doing?

[38:22] Patrick Sammon: Okay, maybe, maybe you're convincing me that I made a wrong decision. I actually, I messaged Abby about this. I texted her and I was like, I was like, I need your opinion.

[38:34] Emily McLaughlin: She's literally, she's on her way. She's running to your house right now.

[38:38] Patrick Sammon: She's like, Abby, Abby has the influence of the Wicked Bitches.

[38:43] Emily McLaughlin: Oh, she didn't.

[38:43] Patrick Sammon: That's where it's coming from.

[38:45] Emily McLaughlin: Okay, Abby is literally too busy to listen to a podcast. She didn't listen to the episode.

[38:49] Patrick Sammon: No, no, no. What I'm, what I'm saying is that like, I think that Abby is...

[38:52] Emily McLaughlin: Oh, that she likes Happy Days.

[38:54] Patrick Sammon: And yes, the song because of the Wicked Bitches.

[38:58] Emily McLaughlin: Her response was more shitting on No Air than it was.

[39:03] Patrick Sammon: She sent me audio messages that I can play if you want me to. It's just like, wait, it lost to No Air?

[39:09] Emily McLaughlin: I want to hear the audio message.

[39:09] Patrick Sammon: Okay, I asked her what she thought about No Air versus Happy Days.

[39:15] Emily McLaughlin: Uh-huh.

[39:16] Patrick Sammon: Get Happy Happy Days versus No Air.

[39:19] Emily McLaughlin: Are you fucking serious?

[39:20] Patrick Sammon: Get Happy Happy Days.

[39:23] Emily McLaughlin: Okay, then I told her that No Air won.

[39:25] Patrick Sammon: No fucking shot.

[39:28] Emily McLaughlin: No.

[39:32] Patrick Sammon: You know, I'm stressed already. And this is the news you present to me, Emily?

[39:39] Emily McLaughlin: And this is where, this is where I'm always saying when I cut with the glockenspiel, we have to think big picture. We can't just think within these 30 minutes when we're talking about the songs.

[39:48] Patrick Sammon: You have to think about what is, when you talk about what is the best song on Gleam, the best performance on Gleam. What is iconic? Like, I feel like No Air is teased, obviously, but in the sense of like within the Gleeks.

[40:05] Emily McLaughlin: I think the best, the best song has to reach outside of the stratosphere of Gleeks. It has to be a worldwide phenomenon.

[40:10] Patrick Sammon: Get Happy reaches that.

[40:13] Emily McLaughlin: Get Happy reaches that. Like, what are we doing?

[40:17] Patrick Sammon: I'm irritated. This is the last episode. Are they serious? It's like, they have to be on crack cocaine.

[40:26] Andrew: Oh my God. Hold on. I think there's...

[40:37] Andrew: You still have Lea Michele over-pronunciating every fucking word, every letter she's saying, every fucking song.

[40:44] Emily: Kory must be the one.

[40:46] Patrick: At the end of the day, it's just, it's just, it's just, like, come on, like, you look so dumb right now.

[40:54] Andrew: Wait, girl, that's the wrong song.

[40:56] Emily: Let's take it out, let's take it out.

[40:58] Patrick: Wait, now she lost me.

[41:00] Emily: Andrew, you should've not included that one.

[41:02] Patrick: She, she will over-enunciate and that's off.

[41:06] Emily: Her entire argument fell through the door.

[41:08] Andrew: Okay.

[41:10] Patrick: But no error in Take About Our Sisters Not Twins.

[41:14] Emily: They're similar, yeah.

[41:16] Patrick: But Take About's much better.

[41:18] Andrew: Okay, so we have reached a conclusion here, I think, which is that you were wrong. Do you regret your vote?

[41:24] Emily: Uh, well, I think that, like, I was, like, partially coming from, and this is, like, actually, like, stupid in hindsight, and I'm allowed to kind of grow as a person. That, like, um, I was coming from the perspective that, like, Glee shouldn't get mashup points for doing a mashup that already exists.

[41:45] Patrick: That was a really weird logic to me.

[41:47] Andrew: Why is that even a...

[41:49] Emily: But no error, they just did a straight cover of no error.

[41:51] Patrick: So...

[41:53] Andrew: Right, so I literally said that out loud.

[41:55] Emily: I was like, what?

[41:57] Patrick: I made a stupid point. I made a really ridiculous point.

[41:59] Emily: I'm sorry for saying that.

[42:01] Andrew: It's okay, because you had shared you were being vulnerable. You were like, oh, the Glackett's kind of, like, getting at me. It's like, you know, whatever.

[42:11] Emily: And then Maggie took advantage of that.

[42:13] Patrick: She's like, he is in a bad state, and I'm going to make him do stupid things.

[42:19] Andrew: After she just talked shit about High School Musical and the Series.

[42:21] Emily: Directly after, yeah.

[42:23] Patrick: That was bad.

[42:25] Emily: That was bad.

[42:27] Andrew: But I loved that episode.

[42:29] Patrick: Funny ladies, funny girls.

[42:32] Emily: Those two things are...

[42:34] Andrew: We can't...

[42:36] Emily: We have to address them here.

[42:38] Andrew: And so now the error is cleared.

[42:40] Emily: No error. It's cleared.

[42:42] Patrick: No error is cleared.

[42:44] Andrew: Okay. But Emily, do you...

[42:48] Emily: I do.

[42:50] Andrew: Do you have a special feeling toward the mashup?

[42:52] Emily: The happy mashup?

[42:54] Andrew: I like it a lot.

[42:56] Emily: I like it a lot. When I first watched the show, it didn't stand out to me or anything. I didn't know the song.

[43:02] Patrick: The original song.

[43:04] Emily: And I also didn't realize that they were fully paying homage. I didn't even know that it was Barbra Streisand and Judy Garland. I feel like they should get points for doing a mashup that already exists.

[43:12] Patrick: No one said that.

[43:14] Emily: Do you hear how stupid that sounds? Do you listen to yourself?

[43:18] Patrick: I do think the point that it symbolizes the end of the Cursed Sadie's friendship. That was kind of a bar. I was like, wow.

[43:24] Emily: Thank you.

[43:29] Patrick: Nope.

[43:31] Emily: Let me talk about that. Because when Kurt left to go to Blaine's school, there was that moment where Mercedes was like, Kurt.

[43:37] Patrick: She stood up.

[43:41] Emily: And then she's like, I'm sorry. I have to go.

[43:45] Patrick: That was the end.

[43:47] Emily: Because they never talked after that.

[43:49] Patrick: And they never sang after that either.

[43:51] Emily: Except the Tots.

[43:53] Patrick: They sang about Tots.

[43:55] Emily: Oh my god.

[43:57] Patrick: I forgot about that.

[43:59] Emily: The ad is very forgettable.

[44:01] Patrick: Oops.

[44:03] Emily: It did kind of symbolize that. I remember we talked about the podcast at some point where that was kind of the start of the Rachel-Kurt thing. And I think that you can have multiple besties. But I think that they should have still let Kurt and Mercedes be besties.

[44:14] Patrick: Yeah.

[44:16] Emily: I feel like we properly gave no air the Wackings deserves. I can't believe that we're 45 minutes in.

[44:20] Andrew: I know.

[44:22] Emily: That's literally like the only grievance that I have as well. Other than the competent nutbush versus it's like, I don't know.

[44:26] Patrick: I don't know.

[44:28] Emily: I don't know.

[44:30] Patrick: I don't know.

[44:32] Emily: I don't know.

[44:34] Patrick: I don't know.

[44:36] Emily: I don't know.

[44:38] Patrick: I don't know.

[44:40] Emily: I don't know.

[44:42] Patrick: The competent nutbush versus it's all coming back to me now was very difficult.

[44:44] Emily: Yeah.

[44:46] Patrick: The correct decision was made, but it was sad.

[44:48] Emily: It was sad.

[44:50] Andrew: Oh, I'm glad.

[44:52] Emily: Okay. And you're wearing a Santana shirt right now.

[44:56] Patrick: I am.

[44:58] Emily: And you're admitting that the Rolo was better than the Santolo.

[45:00] Patrick: Yeah.

[45:02] Emily: I just think that, like, thematically, it's just like so much more important. Honestly.

[45:06] Patrick: Sure.

[45:08] Emily: Like why lie? You know, I can't really remember them. I didn't look at the thing beforehand. But if I had any, I'd definitely probably bullied you via Instagram DM.

[45:17] Patrick: Okay, perfect.

[45:19] Emily: So it's good enough.

[45:21] Andrew: Okay, let's pull the first song of the episode, huh?

[45:23] Emily: Yeah.

[45:25] Andrew: 45 minutes in.

[45:27] Emily: Okay, great.

[45:29] Andrew: 45 minutes in. We have...

[45:33] Emily: I feel like we literally talked about nothing.

[45:35] Patrick: I'm like, what did we just talk about for 45 minutes?

[45:37] Emily: What did we just talk about for 45 minutes?

[45:39] Patrick: I do have kind of emo song.

[45:41] Emily: I would say emo.

[45:43] Patrick: Is it Cough Syrup?

[45:45] Emily: No.

[45:47] Patrick: Cough Syrup's already done.

[45:49] Emily: Yeah.

[45:51] Patrick: Is it Seasons of Love?

[45:53] Emily: It's not Seasons of Love.

[45:55] Patrick: But I would say Seasons of Love.

[45:57] Emily: Little Sister?

[45:59] Patrick: Is it...

[46:01] Emily: Oh, okay, okay.

[46:03] Andrew: You see what this is?

[46:05] Emily: What is this?

[46:08] Andrew: It is Sister with Love.

[46:10] Emily: Here we go.

[46:12] Andrew: And this is my baby.

[46:14] Emily: When I say that this is...

[46:16] Patrick: Okay.

[46:18] Emily: It's Little Sister of Seasons of Love. But I think Older Sister of Happy Days Are Here Again Get Happy?

[46:22] Patrick: Yeah, I could see it.

[46:24] Emily: Does that make sense?

[46:26] Patrick: It's very morose.

[46:28] Emily: We're all reflecting.

[46:30] Patrick: We're all sad.

[46:32] Emily: Not a dry eye in the house.

[46:34] Andrew: God. Who wants to start discourse?

[46:38] Patrick: Patrick, what is going on?

[46:42] Emily: Patrick is laughing.

[46:44] Patrick: You thought that was funny?

[46:46] Emily: No.

[46:48] Patrick: What's so funny?

[46:52] Emily: Stop.

[46:54] Patrick: I love this.

[46:56] Emily: I love this song so much.

[46:58] Patrick: Genuinely.

[47:00] Emily: I don't... I'm scared for it because there's so much good stuff left in the glocket that I think if we pull faithfully, we'll have no choice but to kill this.

[47:10] Patrick: But I love, love, love this song. Truly one of... Maybe top 15 for me, top 10. I love this one.

[47:18] Andrew: This one's great.

[47:20] Patrick: So you're saying True Song with Love.

[47:24] Emily: Yes.

[47:26] Patrick: What I was laughing about is that you said it was the Older Sister of Happy Days mashup.

[47:30] Emily: So I was like, oh, so the stupidest fucking song left in the glocket is going to get pulled and kill this one.

[47:39] Patrick: Ice Ice Baby is going to beat this, actually.

[47:41] Emily: Yeah, Ice Ice Baby is going to get pulled. And it's going to be like, I just think we shouldn't get points for people singing songs.

[47:47] Andrew: Okay, so I have two major things about this. One, and maybe Emily, this will probably be one of yours. I always remember Santana in this song because she wasn't super main character energy yet.

[48:05] Patrick: So the fact that she was crying so much, I was like, oh damn, that girl loves Glee Club that much?

[48:11] Emily: And then as time went on, you learned more about it. But I really, really, really always remember how much I was really interested in learning more about Santana from watching this one.

[48:25] Patrick: My second point is that Kurt's vocals take me out in this song.

[48:30] Emily: Oh, it isn't easy, but I'll try.

[48:34] Patrick: And then he goes like, what? What is this other one?

[48:40] Emily: What can I give you in return? They kind of take me out of it a little bit.

[48:44] Patrick: You sound like a Muppet.

[48:46] Emily: Oh, it isn't easy, but I'll try.

[48:50] Patrick: Why are you singing like, almost like in an accent?

[48:54] Emily: He sings it like that.

[48:56] Patrick: Oh, like a transatlantic accent.

[49:00] Emily: I'll try.

[49:02] Andrew: So anyway, those are my only notes, but I really love this one. And I do remember, I don't remember watching it live if I had so much of a reaction to it, but I remember I got the Glee Season 1 DVD box set, and I watched all of it through.

[49:16] Emily: And it was probably like 2 o'clock in the morning or something where I was watching this over Christmas break or something. And I remember sobbing at this song.

[49:24] Patrick: I can name only on one hand how many times this show actually made me cry. That one makes me cry.

[49:31] Emily: And it's not like, obviously the quarterback stuff is its own category. But this one, oh, it just like really, it tugs your heartstrings. These kids, and I think the Santana thing and her being so upset makes it even more real. Truly all of these people, not just the main main characters, but all of them, love Glee Club.

[49:55] Patrick: At the beginning of this year, it was just another football player.

[49:57] Emily: Right, exactly.

[49:59] Patrick: All of them were crying. Mike Chang.

[50:01] Emily: You think that Dejohn Talton was one of the 10?

[50:05] Patrick: Yeah.

[50:07] Emily: I think so too. He got Mike Chang confused with Dejohn, and so he called Dejohn.

[50:11] Patrick: Harry's busy.

[50:15] Emily: I think then it was Demi Lovato. Who were the two random guys that we had in the background of Season 1? And one of them became kind of famous.

[50:23] Patrick: Oh, Dejohn, I'm going to call Dejohn.

[50:25] Emily: Oh my god. What happened was his thumb slipped, and he meant to call Diana, but he called Dejohn.

[50:33] Patrick: So he got Dejohn.

[50:35] Emily: That's hilarious. And then it was like, oh, it's too late. You think he had Dejohn's number saved?

[50:39] Patrick: That's a great point.

[50:43] Emily: But when Dejohn answered, Dejohn and Diana kind of have the same voice.

[50:49] Patrick: It's low like this.

[50:51] Emily: And he was like, Princess Diana, guess what I have. Do you want to come back to the Glee Boot?

[51:01] Patrick: And Dejohn's like, yeah.

[51:03] Emily: And Dejohn's like, I guess he's calling me Princess Diana. He's just like, sure.

[51:07] Patrick: Matt Rutherford, Princess Diana.

[51:09] Emily: 100% class.

[51:11] Patrick: Yes, yes, yes. I am looking forward to the Matt cameo that I feel is inevitable in the Glee Boot.

[51:15] Emily: I could see that. Did you see the TMZ article that was like, Ryan Murphy is trying to rectify the relationships between Glee cast members like ahead of the reboot. Did you see this?

[51:31] Patrick: No.

[51:33] Emily: Yeah, this was maybe like last week.

[51:35] Patrick: No, go ahead.

[51:37] Emily: And he was like, he was saying like, there are Glee cast members that are upset that Lea Michele gets a lot of the plot lines. And I'm like, respectfully, she's the main character.

[51:49] Patrick: She's the main character of this show.

[51:51] Emily: I hate to break it to you.

[51:53] Patrick: What, like they're still upset?

[51:55] Emily: I don't know. I don't know what their source was.

[51:59] Patrick: Yeah, I don't know about TMZ.

[52:01] Emily: That headline has to have some fluff to it. Because it's like, does anyone really care?

[52:07] Patrick: I think that there are some people who cared, but not enough to tell TMZ.

[52:11] Emily: No.

[52:13] Andrew: Okay, with this number though, I do, I don't know if anybody's said this before, but Ben 10 and Sailor Moon are both in this performance.

[52:21] Patrick: Yes.

[52:23] Emily: Ben 10? Wait, did you not catch Ben 10? About like the show, like the cartoon? What's his little watch call?

[52:29] Patrick: Yeah, where he taps it and he turns into the other aliens.

[52:33] Emily: I'm talking about Mike Chang.

[52:35] Patrick: Mike Chang looks like Ben 10 and Kurt looks like Sailor Moon.

[52:41] Emily: But not just Sailor Moon, just a sailor.

[52:45] Patrick: I love that.

[52:47] Emily: Not like Sailor Moon, just a sailor.

[52:49] Andrew: Is that something that you thought of this one time? Or have you always been like...

[52:53] Emily: No, I have always thought that. No, I've always thought that. And I'm finally saying it. And I'm proud.

[52:59] Patrick: Well, it's because Mike Chang's wearing the lime green jacket.

[53:03] Emily: Yeah, he's wearing the lime green jacket. He looks like Ben 10. He has the swoop over, yes.

[53:07] Patrick: No, it isn't.

[53:09] Emily: But I will say that I really love what you were saying, Patrick, about Santana. I think that the writers were... I think it's like so... I just love that she's included in this number. That it's such a testament to Naya. I remember, Patrick, you and I were talking about I loved what you said about Valerie. That it's like there's something within this actress that for her to be included in this performance is a big deal. Because it's like all the originals and Santana, right? Are there any other cheerleaders like Quinn?

[53:41] Patrick: Quinn doesn't even sing.

[53:43] Emily: Quinn doesn't sing in it.

[53:45] Patrick: I think it makes more sense for Quinn to sing in it.

[53:49] Emily: Right. It does. And she could have sang that beautifully. It would have been different. But yeah. But like Puff, Mike, and Matt, they don't sing in it. It's only Santana that it's like of the popular kids that sing.

[54:41] Emily McLaughlin: Um, it would be a hard competition, or like it would be like, um, leave. But I think, I think that it is a hard competition. I mean, I would welcome a lot of discourse about it. Um, I picked it just as like, one that's like, so powerful that like, the collective generally would be like, what, like, yeah, you killed faithfully, myself included. But like, if we pulled it, like I would give it the old college try. Like I talk about it. Um, but yeah, I said that I hope we don't pull faithfully. I do really, really like this one. And then it pisses me off that like, why did why can't we like pull no air against this one? But at least me and Emily would vote for this song and that it'll go through. I think To Song With Love is very underrated. Like, people don't talk about this song. And I think, you know who it's cousins with? It's cousins with the end of with Your Love Is My Love.

[55:39] Patrick Sammon: Oh, yeah, I like that.

[55:43] Emily McLaughlin: Kissing cousins, they're kissing. But like, that was a like, at least for me, like Your Love Is My Love, like flew over my head the first time. And then when I rewatched Glee and stuff, I was like, wait, this is like one of the best songs ever. And then I think To Song With Love is another one where I'm like, I'm sure in the moment I enjoyed it. But then when I watched it back, I was like, oh, they ate with this one. This one's good. Um, I don't know if I've said this before. But I always thought for the longest time, I thought the lyric that Rachel sings, she does. The lyric is, the days of biting nails are done. I always thought that she was saying buying nails. And I was like, Oh, is that like an adolescent thing to buy nails? Like almost like acrylic nails that you're putting on? Like the stick on nails.

[56:34] Emily McLaughlin: You stick on nails. Um, anyway, do we have anything final to say about To Song With Love? I think Matthew Morrison is a great actor and his crying was real.

[56:44] Patrick Sammon: You guys said all the stuff that I had to say. Yeah. Matthew Morrison, kind of doing like, this is what I kind of want out of the Gleeboot. I'll say it. Normally, I find his reactions corny, but like here it was like, I felt that.

[56:54] Emily McLaughlin: It was cute.

[56:55] Patrick Sammon: Yeah. I felt it. Okay, against Sister With Love, it's going to be this one. Are we spooked? Are we ready?

[57:10] Emily McLaughlin: Kind of.

[57:12] Patrick Sammon: Wait, I kind of am. It's Halloween.

[57:14] Emily McLaughlin: Oh, yeah.

[57:15] Patrick Sammon: Oh, this is, this is spooky scary.

[57:19] Emily McLaughlin: Oh, no.

[57:20] Patrick Sammon: Um, also season one.

[57:22] Emily McLaughlin: Oh, no.

[57:23] Patrick Sammon: I just found her. And the pronouns are her.

[57:27] Emily McLaughlin: Oh, that's even worse.

[57:29] Patrick Sammon: Okay.

[57:31] Emily McLaughlin: Damn. I mean, I agree with some of the things she's about to say.

[57:35] Patrick Sammon: Okay, so we're of course looking at right now, maybe this time. Here we go.

[57:41] Emily McLaughlin: Beautiful. I desperately need someone to start the discourse on this because I can't.

[57:50] Patrick Sammon: She may be MAGA adjacent, but what can she sing?

[57:53] Emily McLaughlin: She may be MAGA adjacent.

[57:56] Patrick Sammon: Oh my god.

[57:59] Emily McLaughlin: Oh, this is tough, guys. This is really fucking awful.

[58:04] Patrick Sammon: That song is so fucking good.

[58:05] Emily McLaughlin: The hardest competition I think I've had. I don't know what I'm gonna do. We need to talk. I was thinking like, I hated myself watching this performance because I was like looking for bad things in it. But I was like, I was like, yeah, the beginnings kind of boring. Before Lea Michele comes in, it's like it's a little bit flat where it's just Chris and Chenoweth doing her thing before they get to the chorus or whatever. And I was just like, do I actually even believe that? Or do I want to protect To Serve With Love? I don't know. I feel crazy.

[58:40] Patrick Sammon: Like, would you like it better if it was just an April solo?

[58:44] Emily McLaughlin: No, that's what I'm saying. I think it takes a little bit too long for Rachel to come in.

[58:49] Patrick Sammon: Yeah, I agree. I like that they made it a duet.

[58:53] Emily McLaughlin: I love that they made a duet because I think that the song speaks so much to both characters that it's like, maybe this time. It fits both characters so perfectly.

[59:01] Patrick Sammon: If you guys saw Chris and Chenoweth on her tour when she sang this as one of her songs in 2015, maybe you'd think differently.

[59:10] Emily McLaughlin: Oh. Wait, did she chop it up?

[59:13] Patrick Sammon: Was it good or bad?

[59:14] Emily McLaughlin: No, she was amazing. And she sang the whole thing by herself because she didn't have Lea Michele on tour with her. She also sang Taylor the Latte Boy, which is the winner of the Glacket.

[59:22] Patrick Sammon: The Taylor the Latte Boy is the winner of the Glacket. I love Taylor the Latte Boy.

[59:29] Emily McLaughlin: But I was thinking when I was watching.

[59:31] Patrick Sammon: I have no idea what you guys were talking about.

[59:31] Emily McLaughlin: You would love it, Emily.

[59:32] Patrick Sammon: Emily the Latte Girl.

[59:35] Emily McLaughlin: I'm singing a lot this episode. Wait, can I sing a little? Can I sing?

[59:40] Patrick Sammon: Okay, wait, let me say this.

[59:42] Emily McLaughlin: Yeah. The... I was thinking through that because I'm like, I do think that, you know, I have nothing against Lea. I think she's an amazing vocalist. I think she gets a little overpowered in this song, which is really unique to see. Like when it switches back to Lea, I kind of like that they use it as a means to keep building the song because I'm like, Lea will sing something, but then Kristen's next line is even more powerful. And then they kind of feed off each other in a sense, even though they're obviously not performing it together in context. It's like they're both trying to one-up each other, even though they're not trying to, but you know.

[1:00:16] Patrick Sammon: Right. I just don't know. Like, yeah, I don't know. I think the thing that makes this is Kristen, not Lea.

[1:00:24] Emily McLaughlin: I love when, like at the end when Rachel happens sometimes like that really high note. That like really like scratches my brain. It does. I am like at a loss of words because I really don't know what I'm going to do. Does anybody feel confident in knowing what they're going to do?

[1:00:48] Patrick Sammon: I feel like Emily's the most confident.

[1:00:49] Emily McLaughlin: I have. Well, I feel like I have reason. I think it's hard because both songs are like so good, but I feel like the reasoning for To Start With Love is more stable for me. I don't know if that's the right word, but like I have reasoning why I would vote for To Start With Love that I think is more like valid than the reasoning that I would have for maybe this time. I'm also trying to really not make this a thing where like the most recent one that I saw is like the one that's like the impression I had is like influencing it. I'm like trying to like think back to how I felt when I was watching To Start With Love. But dang, this is hard. I have never not known. Like usually I know and I just like still want to talk about it, but this one like I could really go either way.

[1:01:48] Patrick Sammon: Do you want me to lay out my thoughts?

[1:01:52] Emily McLaughlin: Yeah, please.

[1:01:53] Patrick Sammon: Yeah. To Start With Love is like, I don't know that song. Like did anybody know that song before Glee? It's like a very unknown song. Why do I feel like the original artist is someone named Lulu? Isn't it from like a movie or something?

[1:02:07] Emily McLaughlin: It's from a movie.

[1:02:09] Patrick Sammon: To Start With Love.

[1:02:10] Emily McLaughlin: Yeah, Lulu, but there's like a bunch of different versions. Like Roberta Flack has a version. Chaka Khan has a version.

[1:02:15] Patrick Sammon: Okay.

[1:02:17] Emily McLaughlin: Al Green has a version. But the number one that comes up is an artist named Lulu, which I have in my library. Maybe this time is like one of those songs where it's like Glee has to do that song, of course. And of course it has to be Rachel. And like it also makes sense for it to be April. But...

[1:02:39] Patrick Sammon: Don't undermine that because I think that April, for a debut episode, it's just like I think that it speaks something. Like you already know this character so well. That it's like this time around, like she made so many mistakes in her life that like late like this. I hate saying like later in life because she's like what? Like the character supposed to be like 40. But like she's made so many mistakes. And like maybe this time when she's coming back to these places that she like has so much groundwork.

[1:03:14] Emily McLaughlin: Yeah.

[1:03:14] Patrick Sammon: And maybe this time she'll win.

[1:03:17] Emily McLaughlin: She is like a loser.

[1:03:20] Patrick Sammon: She's a big old loser. And at this stage, like so is Rachel.

[1:03:25] Emily McLaughlin: Yeah.

[1:03:28] Emily McLaughlin: Yeah.

[1:03:29] Patrick Sammon: And I mean she's even really feeling bad for herself because she.

[1:03:29] Patrick Sammon: Yeah.

[1:03:30] Emily McLaughlin: And also I don't want to undermine the fact that like I'm so sorry to be interrupting your thing.

[1:03:34] Patrick Sammon: No, this is good.

[1:03:36] Emily McLaughlin: Like I think that, I don't know if I've said this before in relation to this song. But like I think, well this is the first time that Glee, it's almost like reminiscent of a season four or five number where it's like two parties are singing the same song. But whereas with like a song like Roar where the people in New York have no reason to be singing Roar, they're just singing it because New Directions is singing it at the end of the episode, which doesn't make any sense. This does make sense because ahead of this performance, April is told that like the star of this Glee club has left to do a production of Cabaret, which is all she needed to be like, okay, maybe this time. Which I like. That it's like, okay, it's already, it's explained why they're both singing it. And it makes sense.

[1:04:37] Patrick Sammon: That's a really good point.

[1:04:38] Emily McLaughlin: There was like, there was serious thought put into this. Similar to like the happy days point I brought up earlier, which is like, well, no, like, like it's so popular of a song that it keeps popping up in like current media. So like maybe this time they did that on Schitt's Creek. And like any theater kid would do this song, you know?

[1:05:07] Patrick Sammon: Yeah.

[1:05:07] Emily McLaughlin: And I feel like there's like another example probably of like where it's come up before. But I say that because the point that you brought up, Emily, was you didn't know To Start With Love before. And I don't think I can like think of any other time it's been referenced in like culture that I know.

[1:05:25] Patrick Sammon: So.

[1:05:25] Emily McLaughlin: Yeah.

[1:05:26] Patrick Sammon: That's kind of like points for you, it sounds like.

[1:05:28] Emily McLaughlin: Well. Also, I want to, go ahead, Emily.

[1:05:31] Patrick Sammon: The reason why that has points for me is because it makes it feel like obviously, like it legitimately feels like an original Glee song, even though it's not. But like, it feels like these kids could have gotten together and been like, let's sing this song for Mr. Shoe. And they all had their little part to sing. It just feels like it fits the situation so perfectly that it could be an original song.

[1:05:55] Emily McLaughlin: You know? It's a really, yeah, that is interesting that it's like so perfectly suited for this moment that it could have. Like, yeah, like, isn't the original song about like a teacher, like students thanking their teacher?

[1:06:07] Patrick Sammon: Yeah, it's from a movie.

[1:06:08] Emily McLaughlin: Yeah, like, I feel like that's like so inspired to use that song. But I also want to bring up, and maybe this time's defense, I'm not, I don't know what I'm voting for yet. But I, maybe this time to me encapsulates a guest star song that I think that like it put on the map how a guest star could have a song in an episode that like really stands out. I'm thinking about this and I'm thinking about Forget You as well. That like, it's like, okay, it just like made waves, both of those songs.

[1:06:46] Patrick Sammon: So I don't know what I'm saying in terms of voting. It's really tough. I will say when I was watching maybe this time, when I forget what line it is, I should have written it down. I think it was, but nobody loved me, like when they did that part, like toward the end, when it's like really building. I was like, I'm gonna vote for this song. It really does build a lot. Like during like that, like the last minute, I was like, how am I gonna vote against this song? But then I thought about, I don't know, like. Also, I've been listening to the remaining songs playlist and when this song came on, I was like, they were just like, I literally had to like lower the volume because they were just like, and that's like a positive. Like they were just like, maybe this time. I was just like, they're really singing. Like.

[1:07:42] Emily McLaughlin: Very powerfully, they're kind of like different emotions. Like "To Sir With Love" is very sad, but also like they're thankful, and then "Maybe This Time" is like, I'm an underdog, I'm passionate about this. They both have a lot of emotion. This is really what I imagine like this round was supposed to be like because a lot of this round I've been listening along and I'm like, and agreeing, oh yeah, that one, yeah, that one, that one, that one, that one, this one, no, this is, I know like this is really tough. I do think though that there are probably more people listening who are gonna want to vote for "Maybe This Time" over "To Sir With Love." I think that there are some people listening being like, why is this so hard?

"Maybe This Time" is the obvious answer. You think more people are leaning toward "Maybe This Time"? I could be reading the weeks wrong, but I kind of think so. I don't know if this, if I'm supposed to be thinking of it this way, but I also just think of like both of the songs against songs in the next round, and I kind of feel like "To Sir With Love" would lose against a lot easier than "Maybe This Time" would, in my opinion.

[1:09:01] Patrick Sammon: You already cast, you cast your vote already?

[1:09:03] Emily McLaughlin: I really, I really am leaning towards this, but I'm just like in terms of group numbers, like there are a few off the top of my head that are even still in the cup that I could think of that I would prefer over "To Sir With Love." Something I want to unpack a little bit is that like Ian said so many episodes ago that like he voted against "Like a Prayer" because there are so many like it. And like my response I had, and I think someone brought up, maybe Connor did, is like, well how many are there actually still? Like I don't always look at like the list of the remaining, like I kind of like don't check before I record or I don't like follow the things just because I'm like, it kind of makes it more surprising and like whatever.

I don't like memorize what's left so I can't really speak to this, but like yeah, how many heartwarming end of episode numbers like "Like a Prayer" are there left? So like should we be getting rid of it because there are others in the bracket that are better? Are there like for that one? Maybe there are, but for like "To Sir With Love," like how many of these are there left where it's like truly a sad, like grateful song? Like it's so unique kind of, whereas "Maybe This Time" maybe it falls more into the category of like iconic vocal performance that like has meaning and like there are plenty of those. So I don't know, I don't actually like the idea. It kind of feels like Patrick and I switched.

Well no, it's like how many, how I don't really like the practice of saying, well like there are other ones of this that are still left in the bracket because a lot of times I think that we think there are some, but they're not.

[1:11:02] Andrew: So it's tough.

[1:11:03] Emily McLaughlin: That's true. You said like what's in the next round and what will, I'm like, I don't know. I could see "Maybe This Time" maybe like losing out to some other ballads that are more like central on characters that we like more. I don't know. I think love everything that we're saying. First and foremost, I do think that I have my vote.

[1:11:17] Patrick Sammon: Okay, ready?

[1:11:18] Emily McLaughlin: I wish that you would have like talked a little bit more because I don't know. I think ultimately I won't be sad about either of them going. Like I like both of them. I think that, but I feel a responsibility to like make the right one go through because I think there probably is an answer we can come to that like makes the most sense, at least in my mind, and I'm not arrived there yet, but I'll get there. I think I'm leaning one way.

[1:11:46] Patrick Sammon: Okay, I'm genuinely going back and forth. This is crazy. I think I nip it in the bud. My vote is going to "To Sir With Love."

[1:12:01] Emily McLaughlin: That, like interesting.

[1:12:02] Patrick Sammon: You were not expecting that?

[1:12:04] Emily McLaughlin: No, I thought you were on a go "Maybe This Time."

[1:12:07] Patrick Sammon: I'm going to "To Sir With Love" because I really just like this practice of watching every Glee song and like really boiling it down and like figuring out like what kind of like makes this show tick and work is so much more encapsulated in "To Sir With Love" rather than "Maybe This Time." I think "Maybe This Time" is, I feel bad because I love it and it made it this far obviously for a reason, but like you're carting out a special guest star and you're having her do her big thing, which is so great, and I like, it's one of my most played songs in my library for a reason. But like with "To Sir With Love," it's just like those kids don't need to be there. Those kids don't need to be doing all that for Mr. Schue, but like they all agreed, all 12 of them all agreed that like, hey, we like what we, this community that we created so much that we want to actually like, we know that this is the end, or at least what they thought was the end. We want to like have this extension out to our teacher and just like kind of like celebrate one last time before what is inevitably the end.

[1:13:34] Emily McLaughlin: They got together on their own without Mr. Schue to do that.

[1:13:36] Patrick Sammon: Right, exactly. And I think that that's like, there was no like, hey assigned, like hey, we need to all like get together at this time, which is what you were saying, but like the cousins of like, oh my God, my love is your love. And it's like they agreed to just like to make this time for themselves, which I think is just like, that is the, it sounds so corny and I think the beginning of the Glacket Andrew would roll his eyes at like what I'm saying is like, yeah, like it's very cheeseball, but like I think that's like, I'm really understanding what the show is about. But it's like this camaraderie between these very different characters being brought together through song and community in this very vulnerable high school years. So that's, and I mean technically it got sued to let them stay for another year, right?

[1:14:29] Andrew: Oh, she saw that. Yeah, she comes in at the end of the number.

[1:14:36] Patrick Sammon: Yeah, so that's what I'm saying. Should I go next if you're ready?

[1:14:44] Emily McLaughlin: I mean, I think I'm going to start with "Love."

[1:14:49] Patrick Sammon: You honestly, you got, you kind of had me really questioning it. I thought I was going to do "To Sir With Love" from the beginning, and then Patrick made me question it, but Andrew made me come back around. Andrew, that was a really good point.

[1:15:04] Emily McLaughlin: I mean, I think a lot of times I do default to like the group numbers, which again is why I think "Like a Prayer" made a splash for me and many others. Remind me again what it lost to?

[1:15:10] Patrick Sammon: Oh, "Blame It on the Alcohol."

[1:15:16] Emily McLaughlin: Blaming "Only Alcohol," which is also a group number, but like, yeah, I think I do want to be protective over some of the group numbers that are really effective and like pulled off well. Because, you know, as by the nature of the show and you know, the stuff, like there are so many group numbers, but sometimes there's like a group number for the sake of a group number, and sometimes there's like a group number that like really is so fitting for the moment, and I think "To Sir With Love" is one of those. I think I was really entranced by like the Kristin Chenoweth of it all because like that performance is really, really great. I still think this is like one of the harder conversations I've had to do, but like as you guys talked through it, I think deep down I knew that I wanted to vote with "To Sir With Love," but I wasn't sure if that was like the right choice by the Gleeks. But I will also vote for "To Sir With Love."

[1:16:20] Andrew: Wow, I'm glad it was unanimous.

[1:16:22] Patrick Sammon: Wow, that's crazy. I don't know, Emily, after I made my vote, I thought you were gonna come and be like, I'm putting Patrick in the hot seat and I'm gonna go my hope. Emily wouldn't do that to me though.

[1:16:31] Andrew: That's the difference between you and her. She wouldn't do that.

[1:16:36] Patrick Sammon: Yeah, that's true.

[1:16:37] Andrew: That's crazy. "Maybe This Time," everybody, everybody's saying one really nice thing about "Maybe This Time." I could say multiple. I could say it's entrancing. I was entranced. I love the cut back to, it's on Rachel, and then it cuts back to Kristin Chenoweth, and at the beginning of the shot, she's like down here, she's like, yes, she like, and I'm just like, that's so good.

[1:17:07] Emily McLaughlin: I love that.

[1:17:08] Andrew: It's really good. It's really, I think it's an incredible number. An underrated moment is like at the very beginning when she like adjusts her bra strap.

[1:17:20] Emily McLaughlin: Yes.

[1:17:21] Andrew: I really like that. She needed that. She was gonna belt.

[1:17:27] Emily McLaughlin: Yeah, right. But also like just because she's kind of like, it's the raw talent of it all. That was the point of her character, but seems like effortless in real life where it's like, it's kind of going like, you know, like clearing your nose and then like waiting at something. I know that we already voted, but here's a point. Okay, it's just like kind of like thinking about right now, "Maybe This Time" is this like kind of like the first time in a long time that April has sang? Are we led to believe?

[1:17:59] Patrick Sammon: Maybe, yeah.

[1:18:01] Emily McLaughlin: Karaoke or something. She does karaoke like in a later episode, but this is the first time that we hear Kristin Chenoweth sing in the series. And also from what we kind of can tell about the character is that like she's just this kind of alcoholic that is definitely around town.

[1:18:18] Patrick Sammon: Yeah, there's like an element of like her recapturing her glory in it, which is very fitting as well to like the message of the song. So I think what made this one hard is that like the song selection for both moments was like so spot on and so good. And I think if we were, if either of these were pulled against a song that was like very vocally or technically impressive, but like Glee just kind of did it to do it, I feel like we would have gone with "Maybe This Time" or "To Sir With Love." But maybe Emily, you were even kind of making this point where like if we're basing it off of that criteria for this competition, "To Sir With Love" was actually like edged it out a little bit. It's like, of course Glee at some point had to sing "Maybe."

[1:19:10] Emily McLaughlin: Yeah.

[1:19:11] Patrick Sammon: And like, yeah, Andrew, you said like you're carting in your, you know, celebrity to get more viewers or whatever like that was. I think that was like where I started to kind of turn my mind to be like maybe we should go with "To Sir With Love." But sometimes I, I don't want to just like vote for the, um, like the cheesy cute season one things. But sometimes if you have different people on, they die. Like the worst song that died in season one is "My Life Would Suck Without You." I cannot believe that that died in round one of the Glacket.

[1:19:44] Emily McLaughlin: So yeah.

[1:19:45] Patrick Sammon: And you know how long do you think that "My Life Would Suck Without You" would last?

[1:19:51] Emily McLaughlin: I don't think that it would still be around right now or around four, maybe around three or four.

[1:19:55] Patrick Sammon: Okay, that's a great song.

[1:19:57] Andrew: Okay, are we ready to see it one more time?

[1:20:05] Emily McLaughlin: Half, what the hell? We gotta get moving. That was a hard competition. That was crazy.

[1:20:11] Andrew: Oh God, we got another heavy hitter season one.

[1:20:18] Patrick Sammon: Oh my goodness, I hope it's against "Ice Ice Baby."

[1:20:21] Andrew: Oops, all season one. Oops.

[1:20:31] Patrick Sammon: Oh God, here we go.

[1:20:39] Andrew: Oh my God, what?

[1:20:40] Patrick Sammon: Do you see what this is? Audio medium, what are you looking at?

[1:20:44] Andrew: It's a Ford truck car with, is it, is it "Run Joey Run"?

[1:20:48] Patrick Sammon: It is "Run Joey Run."

[1:20:49] Andrew: Okay, yes. Wait, why am I so good at this?

[1:20:55] Patrick Sammon: Oh my God, I just think that the direction of this entire performance is like so, I think like the editor specifically really understood the assignment with this and they, everyone involved understood the assignment. Everyone got it. Everyone understood. And like in world of the show, like the characters understood the assignment. Like, yeah.

[1:21:15] Emily McLaughlin: Rachel is being insane. Like, just, like, the eyes that she's making the entire time, everyone's reactions, and even, like, Brittany and Santana, you can tell that they know that this is just, like, stupid and goofy, you know? Yeah. I, I just, like, almost, like, love the, the image in my mind of, like, Rachel. What would she be? She would be, like, using, like, Windows Movie Maker, where it's, like, she just, like, has, like, yeah, just, like, all of these, like, effects at, I think this is, like, very high school. The kaleidoscope effect that it's, like, you're not actually supposed to use that effect. Yeah. Part of me wish they hammed that up a little bit more. Like, I know it's, like, perfect, but it would have been funny if they, like, flipped it upside down or, like, made, like, Andy Warhol colors or something.

Like, that would have been kind of funny. I don't, like, almost like, um, a photo booth kind of thing. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But, oh my gosh, it was, it's so good. And I, I'll say when, I've never pulled this song when I'm on before, but when I'm listening and this song gets pulled, sometimes I'm kind of, like, I, I am imagining it, but it's truly different when you watch this one. Like, it is, it is an experience. You have to watch this one. So, yeah, it's so, yeah, it's so good. But, um, I just really, this is, like, to me, this is, like, the way to prove that Lea Michele is, like, really, really funny and takes good direction is, like, oh, yeah, when she's bleeding out, this is, like, master class.

Yeah. Oh, good. Really? And her reaction, like, their reactions when they're watching it in the choir room are so good. That's what I'm saying. It's, like, her, specifically, her reaction, like, all the guys are, like, what? I'm confused. Yeah, that's fine. But, like, her, like, reacting to her own work is so fucking funny. She is so proud. It's so good. It's so good. I think that, like, I bring it up every time this song is pulled, but, like, my favorite part of this performance is it starts with, like, a star, like, iMovie effect or whatever, like, transition. And then it's, like, her in a passing period in the hall in front of the lockers, and she's, like, trying, like, singing the song, and she's, like, shoving her way through the other students.

And I'm, like, this is so perfect. I just, like, would love to, like, there are certain, like, glee moments that I'm, like, I want to live in the brain where it's, like, you came up with that. I think it's so smart that it's, like, yes, of course she would only, like, have, like, a passing period to, like, film this. And so, like, she's competing with everybody in the hallway. I just love it. It's great. It's so good. I wish I could, like, remember, because I think right now, because we go back and watch it, and we're all glee connoisseurs, right? Like, there are some things where it's, like, I don't remember my reaction watching that live the first time. I don't think that I got it the first time.

No, I definitely didn't. I probably was just, like, okay, like, that was fun. But, like, I didn't get that it was, like, purposefully camp, because I don't think I understood what camp was at the time.

[1:24:35] Patrick Sammon: And it's so funny how, like, so much of the show is camp and, like, purposefully silly and, like, bad, quote, unquote, bad at some points, or, like, breaking the fourth wall all the time. And, like, the target audience didn't really probably get it most of the time, or a lot of the time when it was happening live. You know what's so interesting? I remember, like, there were, like, girls in my high school that were, like, hey, I stopped watching Glee, but I really liked one song in particular. There was one girl that I'm thinking of right now that was, like, I really liked one song, and it's so embarrassing. And I was, like, what song? And she was, like, it's Run, Joey, Run. And I'm, like, oh, that's interesting that, like, it's, like, kind of, like, landing with these, like, girls that, like, fell off the show.

[1:25:17] Emily McLaughlin: Yeah, that's interesting.

[1:25:19] Patrick Sammon: But, like, and this is the one song that you're-

[1:25:22] Emily McLaughlin: Because of, like, the premise, that, like, you're getting all these boys to do this with you.

[1:25:24] Patrick Sammon: Yeah, that's the only thing I could think of.

[1:25:26] Emily McLaughlin: Yeah, yeah.

[1:25:28] Patrick Sammon: If you just liked all the guys.

[1:25:29] Emily McLaughlin: Okay, I have one note, which, like, kills me. Forgive me if we've talked about this on the podcast before, but, like, you know, what was Sandy's, like, reaction to being, like, Mr. Ryerson, we have to do it again, but with this boy instead. So you stay here, and I'm going to get, like, this, like, did they-

[1:25:48] Patrick Sammon: I think that he probably loved it.

[1:25:51] Emily McLaughlin: I think he loved it.

[1:25:52] Patrick Sammon: He was happy to do it as many times as they needed.

[1:25:54] Emily McLaughlin: Was it, like, Mr. Ryerson, I need you on Tuesday, Thursday, and Wednesday, because I have to coordinate, like, a different boy each time. Like, was he like, oh, oh, yes. I don't have anything else to do anyway.

[1:26:07] Patrick Sammon: But also-

[1:26:08] Emily McLaughlin: I think he's living vicariously for them, yeah.

[1:26:10] Patrick Sammon: He wasn't in that, the Sandy Ryerson one, it was just Finn and Jesse St. James.

[1:26:16] Emily McLaughlin: Yeah, but I think that honestly, like, adds points to the song, thinking about, like, Sandy-

[1:26:21] Patrick Sammon: Oh, yeah, of course.

[1:26:23] Emily McLaughlin: Foaming at the mouth at the opportunity to just, like, okay, yeah, I'll continue being brought back.

[1:26:28] Patrick Sammon: Yeah.

[1:26:29] Emily McLaughlin: This is one of those songs that it's, like, the in-universe implications of it are, like, so fun. Like, Rachel going to Sandy, Rachel going to Britannia, Rachel going to each of these boys individually.

[1:26:41] Patrick Sammon: Yes, yes, exactly.

[1:26:43] Emily McLaughlin: I guess I do have, like, a little bit of a question mark about Rachel's, kind of, proposal to Britannia. What do you think that looked like, and why did they agree?

[1:26:55] Patrick Sammon: I think they probably just thought it was fun.

[1:26:56] Emily McLaughlin: Because they wanted to be on camera.

[1:26:57] Patrick Sammon: Yeah.

[1:26:57] Emily McLaughlin: They wanted to be on camera. That's it.

[1:26:59] Patrick Sammon: Well, because I feel like it's the same thing with, like, the mattress thing, where it's, like, we're going to be on TV. It's like, you're making a movie? Like, okay.

[1:27:07] Emily McLaughlin: Yeah.

[1:27:08] Patrick Sammon: They're probably happy to do it together, too.

[1:27:10] Emily McLaughlin: I don't know. I could see in-universe, Britannia being like, I think we should do it. And Santa was like, well, okay, I'll do it because you're gonna do it. And I'm in love with you.

[1:27:19] Patrick Sammon: But no, it's so funny. And it's perfect as it is. But it really just makes you want more. Like, I want, like, yeah, the cut scenes of, like, Rachel going up to them. What I also would have really liked is if, like, Quinn or somebody was, like, in the hall and just kind of stopped and was like, what are you doing?

[1:27:39] Emily McLaughlin: What's going on?

[1:27:40] Patrick Sammon: What's happening?

[1:27:49] Emily McLaughlin: Um, I really don't have too much to say about Run, Joey, Run. I do have, like, a bad feeling about this song.

[1:27:57] Patrick Sammon: Well, we've talked about it so many times. Like, I remember, I'm sure this has been pulled in, like, Ian O'Connor was on or something, and they had their, you know, really great things to say about it. So I don't think that I have, like, much more to add. I think we're in round, is this round four or five? I'm sorry.

[1:28:13] Emily McLaughlin: This is round four. No, you're good.

[1:28:15] Patrick Sammon: This is round four.

[1:28:16] Emily McLaughlin: I'm looking at the history of Run, Joey, Run.

[1:28:20] Patrick Sammon: And it won against Maggie's debut episode.

[1:28:24] Emily McLaughlin: It won against Blame It On The Alcohol.

[1:28:28] Patrick Sammon: Well, thank God no air wasn't pulled.

[1:28:31] Emily McLaughlin: And then in the second round, Run, Joey, Run won against Physical.

[1:28:38] Patrick Sammon: In the third round, it lost to Hand In My Pocket, I Feel The Earth Move and was voted back.

[1:28:45] Emily McLaughlin: And now we're seeing this a fourth time.

[1:28:49] Patrick Sammon: Okay.

[1:28:49] Emily McLaughlin: I think that I'm fine with it leaving, to be honest.

[1:28:53] Patrick Sammon: I think I am, too.

[1:28:55] Emily McLaughlin: I feel like we've had enough fun with this song. But I like it enough where if it really isn't as good as the next thing that we pull, then we should put it on for round five.

[1:29:00] Patrick Sammon: It's good in a particular category. Like, it's fun, stupid camp, you know, there's not really much else to say.

[1:29:12] Emily McLaughlin: I think that people hate when I do this, where I'm like, oh, I'm just like already like grieving, not grieving, but like, I'm already like getting ready for it to lose before it's even, we even know what it's up against.

[1:29:24] Patrick Sammon: I mean, but like, when you're playing at home, it's kind of the same thing. Like, I will be in the car listening and be like, okay, like, I hope they pull something that like beats this because like, I don't need to hear it again.

[1:29:34] Emily McLaughlin: Like, I think that's always how I view it.

[1:29:36] Patrick Sammon: Are we ready to see what it's up against?

[1:29:39] Emily McLaughlin: Yes.

[1:29:40] Patrick Sammon: Do we have any final notes?

[1:29:41] Emily McLaughlin: I hope it's up against something that is like, I really need to go through.

[1:29:46] Patrick Sammon: Oh, this is an interesting competition.

[1:29:51] Emily McLaughlin: Okay.

[1:29:53] Patrick Sammon: Okay.

[1:29:54] Emily McLaughlin: Not oops, all season one, because we're looking at a season four.

[1:30:00] Patrick Sammon: I actually do have an idea of how this will pan out.

[1:30:04] Emily McLaughlin: Can you put the so we know?

[1:30:06] Patrick Sammon: I'm looking for it, let me find it.

[1:30:10] Emily McLaughlin: Oh, okay.

[1:30:11] Patrick Sammon: Interesting.

[1:30:12] Emily McLaughlin: Okay, you see what it is?

[1:30:13] Patrick Sammon: You know what it is?

[1:30:15] Emily McLaughlin: Yeah, it's Mamma Mia.

[1:30:16] Patrick Sammon: It is Mamma Mia.

[1:30:17] Emily McLaughlin: Here we go.

[1:30:21] Patrick Sammon: This song just ends, right?

[1:30:23] Emily McLaughlin: It's really short.

[1:30:25] Patrick Sammon: It's kind of crazy that it ends like that.

[1:30:28] Emily McLaughlin: Yeah, end of episode.

[1:30:30] Patrick Sammon: Yeah.

[1:30:31] Emily McLaughlin: Is there like a scene after that?

[1:30:33] Patrick Sammon: No, that's the last scene of Guilty Pleasures.

[1:30:36] Emily McLaughlin: I mean, here's my take.

[1:30:39] Patrick Sammon: Mamma Mia is not a guilty pleasure.

[1:30:41] Emily McLaughlin: It's just pleasure.

[1:30:42] Patrick Sammon: I had the same note.

[1:30:43] Emily McLaughlin: I love that movie.

[1:30:45] Patrick Sammon: I saw it like 10 times in the theater.

[1:30:48] Emily McLaughlin: That's like I've seen that the movie I've seen most of my life is High School Musical.

[1:30:53] Patrick Sammon: And the second movie I've seen the most of my life is Mamma Mia.

[1:30:56] Emily McLaughlin: Yeah, it kind of reminds me.

[1:30:58] Patrick Sammon: I was just going to bring that up.

[1:31:00] Emily McLaughlin: It's kind of similar to the version of Mamma Mia that they do in the second movie.

[1:31:05] Patrick Sammon: Because I think at first, she sings like acapella.

[1:31:09] Emily McLaughlin: And then she's like in the in the restaurant.

[1:31:11] Patrick Sammon: She's like, yeah.

[1:31:12] Emily McLaughlin: And she's like all sad.

[1:31:13] Patrick Sammon: I've been cheated by you.

[1:31:16] Emily McLaughlin: Yeah.

[1:31:17] Patrick Sammon: I had such a crush on her in that movie.

[1:31:19] Emily McLaughlin: I could talk about this song for like 10 minutes.

[1:31:21] Patrick Sammon: So maybe someone else can go.

[1:31:22] Emily McLaughlin: No, I want to hear your diatribe about Mamma Mia Glee Cast version by Glee Cast.

[1:31:27] Patrick Sammon: Well, here's what I'll say.

[1:31:30] Emily McLaughlin: Mamma Mia is like a perfect example of like, if people don't like Mamma Mia, they just hate fun.

[1:31:37] Patrick Sammon: Like, that's my general take.

[1:31:40] Emily McLaughlin: If people don't like ABBA.

[1:31:42] Patrick Sammon: If people don't like ABBA, they don't like fun.

[1:31:43] Emily McLaughlin: It's just kind of like, what truly is your problem with this thing?

[1:31:47] Patrick Sammon: Like, you know, all the songs are enormous.

[1:31:49] Emily McLaughlin: It's like really joyous.

[1:31:50] Patrick Sammon: I don't know.

[1:31:51] Emily McLaughlin: Like, I think that like, if you don't like Mamma Mia, it's a red flag.

[1:31:56] Patrick Sammon: One of my best friends married a guy who

[1:31:59] Emily McLaughlin: limited the amount of ABBA songs that could be at their wedding.

[1:32:02] Patrick Sammon: To how many?

[1:32:05] Emily McLaughlin: To two.

[1:32:07] Patrick Sammon: Yeah.

[1:32:07] Emily McLaughlin: To two?

[1:32:08] Patrick Sammon: Are you kidding me?

[1:32:10] Emily McLaughlin: The limit should be like six.

[1:32:12] Patrick Sammon: And it's because he's a pharmacist and he works in Walgreens.

[1:32:15] Emily McLaughlin: And apparently they play too much ABBA.

[1:32:16] Patrick Sammon: And I was like, that's not a good reason.

[1:32:20] Emily McLaughlin: Then change your career path.

[1:32:21] Patrick Sammon: So I love him, but I literally say to his face, I'm like, I have an issue with you because that's a red flag.

[1:32:28] Emily McLaughlin: And you're lucky that I let my friend marry you.

[1:32:30] Patrick Sammon: So anyway.

[1:32:31] Emily McLaughlin: Wait, do you know what was the two songs that they landed on?

[1:32:35] Patrick Sammon: I think we did Mamma Mia and we probably did Dancing Queen.

[1:32:38] Emily McLaughlin: I say we as if it was my wedding.

[1:32:40] Patrick Sammon: We, yeah.

[1:32:41] Emily McLaughlin: Might as well have been.

[1:32:42] Patrick Sammon: Those are the two.

[1:32:43] Emily McLaughlin: Okay, wait, but that wasn't my main thing.

[1:32:45] Patrick Sammon: I'm just like, so to me, there's a lot that you can kind of critique about how Glee did it.

[1:32:50] Emily McLaughlin: Like at the end, they're all doing hula hoops on stage.

[1:32:54] Patrick Sammon: And then surprise, Santana and Kurt and Rachel also have hula hoops in their apartment.

[1:32:59] Emily McLaughlin: And it's like definitely one of those times where like, they're just kind of like making the New York and the New Directions casts like, do things that like don't really make sense.

[1:33:11] Patrick Sammon: So that like visually compared to maybe this time earlier.

[1:33:15] Emily McLaughlin: Yeah, wait, can I say something?

[1:33:16] Patrick Sammon: Can I interject?

[1:33:18] Emily McLaughlin: But let me let me finish my statement, which is I'm saying, I don't care about that they did that in this number.

[1:33:25] Patrick Sammon: Because like Mamma Mia is so silly and stupid and goofy.

[1:33:28] Emily McLaughlin: Where I kind of thought it was like charming to a degree that they did that.

[1:33:32] Patrick Sammon: Andrew, you may speak.

[1:33:34] Emily McLaughlin: Wait, you find it?

[1:33:35] Patrick Sammon: Do you find it charming that Kirtle Tana has hula hoops in their apartment?

[1:33:42] Emily McLaughlin: Charming maybe strong.

[1:33:43] Patrick Sammon: I think that like, it doesn't bother me.

[1:33:45] Emily McLaughlin: Whereas if this was like any other type of song, I'd be like, okay, another fucking bring out the hula hoops.

[1:33:50] Patrick Sammon: What?

[1:33:51] Emily McLaughlin: Like because it was, I just want to be sold on the hula hoops fun.

[1:33:56] Patrick Sammon: Like, whatever.

[1:33:56] Emily McLaughlin: I don't care.

[1:33:58] Patrick Sammon: This is fun.

[1:34:01] Emily McLaughlin: Can a Gleek please tell me?

[1:34:04] Patrick Sammon: Like, and I think that there is probably an answer to this.

[1:34:04] Emily McLaughlin: Why does Kirtle Tana have hula hoops in their apartment?

[1:34:09] Patrick Sammon: I want to know.

[1:34:09] Emily McLaughlin: Kirt probably like hula hoops for exercise.

[1:34:12] Patrick Sammon: Maybe they like had, they did some production at NYADA.

[1:34:17] Emily McLaughlin: And they just like had them lying around.

[1:34:20] Patrick Sammon: And like Kurt or Rachel just like took them home.

[1:34:22] Emily McLaughlin: Because they were like, why not?

[1:34:24] Patrick Sammon: I don't know.

[1:34:24] Emily McLaughlin: And now they're playing with the hula hoops.

[1:34:26] Patrick Sammon: The hula hoops are in the apartment.

[1:34:28] Emily McLaughlin: 100% because of Kirtle.

[1:34:29] Patrick Sammon: Maybe they were already there when they bought the apartment.

[1:34:32] Emily McLaughlin: I remember watching when I first showed Awais Glee.

[1:34:36] Patrick Sammon: When I remember distinctly watching this episode with him, because after this performance, he was like,

[1:35:18] Andrew: Maybe they were just singing along to the movie. They were getting ready to watch the movie and they were like, well, let's sing the titular song. But I think that's one of the things you brought up, the "Maybe This Time" comparison. In "Mamma Mia," actually, the Glee cast version does have a similar alibi that it does work that both parties are singing it. Because earlier in the episode, the New Directions are like, I think it might be like a Blaine and Sam scene that they're like, hey, we have like one last Guilty Pleasures song to do. They're talking about "Mamma Mia." And they're doing the ABBA, they're doing an homage to the ABBA music video. Whereas the New York Loft, they are singing it as like they're getting ready into the movie, which I think like works on both parts.

[1:36:11] Emily McLaughlin: It does work.

[1:36:13] Patrick Sammon: And I like that.

[1:36:13] Emily McLaughlin: Yeah, I think so. That's, again, like my point. Like I really just feel like it just worked. And it's fun. And it's cute. And it's "Mamma Mia."

[1:36:23] Patrick Sammon: Yeah, because ABBA is like a group that you would just like sing along to. Like, I believe that two separate groups of people would be singing "Mamma Mia" for fun at the same time. And like, how they did it in the movie is like half the time, like it's a second few people in a room and they're like, let's like dance around and like be goofy. And that's kind of how they did it in Glee. There are many, many, many good moments to the song. Like I love Alex Newell's vocals at the end.

[1:36:48] Andrew: Crazy.

[1:36:53] Patrick Sammon: They're so good. Alex Newell coming in. Yes, I've been brokenhearted for no reason. Just sounding amazing.

[1:37:02] Emily McLaughlin: They were just like saving Unique until the end of the number.

[1:37:07] Patrick Sammon: It's like, whoa. Like, Santana with the body pillow, the whole thing.

[1:37:12] Andrew: Kurt, you gave my boyfriend's pillow a sex change.

[1:37:16] Emily McLaughlin: Yes.

[1:37:17] Patrick Sammon: That whole plot line.

[1:37:19] Andrew: That whole plot line was crazy. But like, I feel like the direction wasn't even for her to dance around with the body pillow. I would like to think Nia's just like, whatever. I'm just gonna like, it's fun. Like, keep it in.

[1:37:30] Emily McLaughlin: I love when Katie like puts Artie's face into her boobs.

[1:37:34] Patrick Sammon: Yeah. That's funny.

[1:37:35] Andrew: That was interesting. I also like the Katie, Kitty, Marley, like, shoulder.

[1:37:41] Emily McLaughlin: Oh, like the shimmy.

[1:37:43] Patrick Sammon: Yeah.

[1:37:43] Emily McLaughlin: Is this controversial? I feel like this is really controversial. I kind of shipped them.

[1:37:49] Patrick Sammon: Kitty and Marley.

[1:37:49] Emily McLaughlin: Marley.

[1:37:50] Patrick Sammon: That's really bad. Because Kitty was terrible to her.

[1:37:57] Emily McLaughlin: I mean, I do. No, I don't really ship everybody. But you know, I ship all the women.

[1:38:02] Patrick Sammon: I don't ship Claim, but I ship Mitty.

[1:38:06] Emily McLaughlin: Wait, has anybody ever brought up the fact that—

[1:38:07] Patrick Sammon: No, I feel like they have a ship name.

[1:38:09] Emily McLaughlin: Marty.

[1:38:10] Patrick Sammon: What is Puck and Kitty's ship name?

[1:38:13] Emily McLaughlin: Can we not talk about that right now?

[1:38:15] Patrick Sammon: Ew, Cuck.

[1:38:18] Emily McLaughlin: Or Pity is worse. Pity?

[1:38:21] Patrick Sammon: They can't win.

[1:38:24] Emily McLaughlin: It's not a good ship.

[1:38:27] Patrick Sammon: Not Wildberry.

[1:38:28] Emily McLaughlin: I think it's her last. I think it's Wild—

[1:38:30] Patrick Sammon: Puckle Wild or like—

[1:38:32] Emily McLaughlin: But wouldn't— What is—

[1:38:35] Patrick Sammon: I think—

[1:38:35] Emily McLaughlin: Jake and Kitty is Jitty.

[1:38:42] Patrick Sammon: Oh my god, no good ship names there.

[1:38:45] Emily McLaughlin: No, Kitty can't win. Because like, it's like Kitty and Artie is Wild Brams. And I hate that.

[1:38:53] Patrick Sammon: It's probably the best out of all of them, though.

[1:38:57] Emily McLaughlin: I don't really have so much more to say about "Mamma Mia." They really went all out for a performance on stage. I'm curious what this beat— Can we go through that?

[1:39:05] Andrew: Sure. Let's take a look.

[1:39:09] Patrick Sammon: I love that it's in round four. I'll say that much. In round one, "Mamma Mia" won against, everybody remembers this number, "Rockstar."

[1:39:23] Andrew: One of the most forgettable Glee songs of all time.

[1:39:25] Patrick Sammon: Yeah.

[1:39:26] Emily McLaughlin: Do you know what "Rockstar" is?

[1:39:28] Patrick Sammon: The Elliot and Kurt duet?

[1:39:30] Emily McLaughlin: Yeah, yeah.

[1:39:32] Patrick Sammon: Adam, what's his face's in it?

[1:39:34] Emily McLaughlin: Adam Levine, yeah.

[1:39:36] Patrick Sammon: And then in round two, it won against, oh, this is kind of messy boots.

[1:39:41] Emily McLaughlin: Dreams.

[1:39:42] Patrick Sammon: Was it Dreams?

[1:39:43] Emily McLaughlin: Yeah.

[1:39:43] Patrick Sammon: I don't know why I remembered that.

[1:39:45] Andrew: What's Dreams?

[1:39:47] Emily McLaughlin: Fleetwood Mac.

[1:39:50] Patrick Sammon: Oh, interesting. And then in round three, it won against, and this was a setup, I'll remember, the Kurt solo.

[1:40:00] Andrew: Oh, well.

[1:40:03] Patrick Sammon: Well, I'll vote first.

[1:40:07] Emily McLaughlin: So we're voting, right? Is that what you meant?

[1:40:09] Andrew: Yeah, we're voting.

[1:40:10] Patrick Sammon: Okay. I'm voting for "Run, Joey, Run." I think for obvious reasons, "Mamma Mia" is very fun, but "Run, Joey, Run" was also very fun, but in a way more elevated way. They just found a way to shoehorn "Mamma Mia" into this episode, and they did a cute job with it, versus "Run, Joey, Run" is truly kind of iconic.

[1:40:36] Emily McLaughlin: But I think if we pulled something faithfully, the example of the episode.

[1:40:43] Andrew: We literally said that we were ready to get rid of "Run, Joey, Run."

[1:40:45] Patrick Sammon: Yeah, I would have gladly let "Run, Joey, Run" die. But now I'm glad to see it through another time, but I'm interested to see how much further it goes, because I hope, in a sense, that "Run, Joey, Run" is sent to the next round, so that it's a layup for another song.

[1:41:03] Emily McLaughlin: Well, I think that, okay, I have so many things that I want to say, actually. "Mamma Mia," I'm streaming. I'm listening to it. "Run, Joey, Run," never streaming.

[1:41:18] Patrick Sammon: Is that fair to say?

[1:41:19] Emily McLaughlin: Yes.

[1:41:20] Patrick Sammon: Yeah.

[1:41:21] Emily McLaughlin: And then also, what was the other thing? Oh, "Run, Joey, Run." Okay, "Let's Have a Kiki" is already in the next round. And I think that "Let's Have a Kiki" and "Run, Joey, Run" are top tier silly songs. Between those two songs, what gets your vote?

[1:41:41] Patrick Sammon: Probably "Run, Joey, Run."

[1:41:42] Emily McLaughlin: "Let's Have a Kiki."

[1:41:44] Patrick Sammon: I think I'm going with "Let's Have a Kiki" as well. "Let's Have a Kiki" is like top 16 for me.

[1:41:49] Emily McLaughlin: Maybe it's just been a minute since I watched it.

[1:41:53] Andrew: Um, wait. "Let's Have a Kiki."

[1:41:55] Emily McLaughlin: Well, "Let's Have a Kiki." Emily, do you have your vote between the—

[1:41:59] Emily McLaughlin: I honestly want to vote for "Mamma Mia," because I think it's so fun. And I love, like, a group number that has so many different vocalists. But I agree that "Run, Joey, Run" is just so much more elevated, as Patrick said.

[1:42:15] Patrick Sammon: Quinn Mention.

[1:42:23] Emily McLaughlin: Quinn Mention. We didn't really get to see her in this episode.

[1:42:25] Andrew: She wasn't in this episode, but Quinn Mention.

[1:42:27] Patrick Sammon: We got her in there.

[1:42:28] Emily McLaughlin: Oh, we talked about Diana.

[1:42:30] Andrew: We kind of did.

[1:42:32] Emily McLaughlin: We talked about Diana. Quinn, I love you.

[1:42:35] Patrick Sammon: It's because all the quolos already came up.

[1:42:39] Emily McLaughlin: I think there's one quolo left that you guys haven't told yet.

[1:42:43] Patrick Sammon: Oh, "Never Can Say Goodbye."

[1:42:44] Emily McLaughlin: Yeah. And also, I wanted to say at the beginning of this episode, and I forgot to, that as of last episode, we're done with Unique Solos. Unique Solos are completely out.

[1:42:57] Patrick Sammon: Uniquelos?

[1:43:01] Emily McLaughlin: Wait, what?

[1:43:02] Patrick Sammon: Uniquelos?

[1:43:03] Emily McLaughlin: Like the clothing store?

[1:43:05] Patrick Sammon: Yeah.

[1:43:07] Emily McLaughlin: Uniquelos? Um, I looked at what, like, vocal, uh, what was I saying? I like what songs that she's featured in that are left. And there was only two. And this is one of them. It was "Mamma Mia" and "Wide Awake."

[1:43:25] Patrick Sammon: Ooh.

[1:43:25] Emily McLaughlin: "Wide Awake's" winner of the black at Silver Fine.

[1:43:28] Andrew: Um, wait, so Emily, you cast your vote?

[1:43:34] Emily McLaughlin: I'm gonna vote for "Run, Joey, Run." I really want to vote for "Mamma Mia," but, like, I can't do that. Because, like, I know that "Run, Joey, Run" is just more glee. Honestly.

[1:43:45] Patrick Sammon: Can I do something really annoying? Maybe you'll hate. I'm gonna do a pity vote for "Mamma Mia" because I'm streaming and I'm watching.

[1:43:55] Andrew: If Emily voted for "Mamma Mia," would you have voted for "Mamma Mia"?

[1:43:58] Patrick Sammon: I would have done a pity vote, too.

[1:44:01] Andrew: If Emily voted, so if I voted for "Run, Joey, Run," and then Emily voted for "Mamma Mia," what would you have done? I'm curious.

[1:44:07] Patrick Sammon: I think I agree that "Run, Joey, Run" is the better performance, but.

[1:44:14] Emily McLaughlin: No, I appreciate this because, like, I think I would be disappointed if I was listening to someone kind of shit on "Mamma Mia." Because, again, that's a red flag. But it's okay to say that there are better things to go through. So I'm glad that we like all kind of were just like, it was fun and lovely. And like, part of us like wanted to vote it through. But I think the right choice is "Run, Joey, Run."

[1:44:36] Patrick Sammon: Yeah.

[1:44:37] Andrew: Yeah. I think "Mamma Mia" making it this far was like really.

[1:44:40] Emily McLaughlin: Definitely.

[1:44:42] Patrick Sammon: An incredible feat.

[1:44:45] Emily McLaughlin: I agree.

[1:44:45] Andrew: How can we resist her?

[1:44:49] Emily McLaughlin: Why? Why? Did I ever let you go?

[1:44:51] Andrew: And there we go.

[1:44:52] Emily McLaughlin: And that's.

[1:44:55] Andrew: Is that it?

[1:44:55] Emily McLaughlin: That's what we're gonna say.

[1:44:57] Andrew: Wait.

[1:44:59] Emily McLaughlin: Yeah.

[1:45:00] Andrew: Right now, actually. In recap of this episode, "To Sir, With Love."

[1:45:06] Patrick Sammon: Two.

[1:45:06] Andrew: I think I probably say this every single round. But two round five.

[1:45:09] Emily McLaughlin: I literally forgot how we voted already.

[1:45:14] Patrick Sammon: Oh, we voted for "To Sir, With Love."

[1:45:15] Andrew: "Maybe This Time." Do you remember that?

[1:45:16] Emily McLaughlin: Wow.

[1:45:17] Patrick Sammon: That is crazy.

[1:45:19] Andrew: Do you think people will be mad? Do you think like, we're gonna get hate comments on the Patreon or Instagram?

[1:45:24] Emily McLaughlin: I feel like the discourse was. Like, if I were listening, I would be like, okay, well, they, like, paid. They kind of ate.

[1:45:29] Patrick Sammon: Yeah, they talked about.

[1:45:31] Emily McLaughlin: They paid respect to "Maybe This Time," you know?

[1:45:34] Andrew: Yeah.

[1:45:37] Emily McLaughlin: "Maybe This Time" you'll lose.

[1:45:39] Patrick Sammon: Oh, damn.

[1:45:42] Andrew: Damn.

[1:45:44] Patrick Sammon: "Run, Joey, Run" to round five, honey.

[1:45:47] Emily McLaughlin: That's perfect.

[1:45:49] Andrew: "Mamma Mia." How could I let you go?

[1:45:53] Emily McLaughlin: Well, like.

[1:45:53] Patrick Sammon: I did.

[1:45:55] Andrew: But I did. Emily, you have a wonderful podcast that I would love for you to talk about right now.

[1:46:04] Emily McLaughlin: I do. Well, you heard from Abby earlier in the episode. She's my co-host.

[1:46:11] Patrick Sammon: Yes, you're so bad.

[1:46:13] Emily McLaughlin: Semi-frequent guest of this podcast. But yeah, Abby is really, really busy. So we haven't really been uploading consistently, but we're still here. And we're on season three of Riverdale.

[1:46:26] Patrick Sammon: It's a Riverdale podcast.

[1:46:27] Emily McLaughlin: I didn't say that. And we have a lot of fun and we talk about Glee a lot because, you know, we're Gleeks at heart. And our most recent episode is the one where Archie talks about the hides and loads of high school football.

[1:46:40] Patrick Sammon: Episode like eight?

[1:46:46] Emily McLaughlin: Season three, episode two, actually.

[1:46:49] Patrick Sammon: Two.

[1:46:50] Emily McLaughlin: It's quite early on. Archie goes to jail.

[1:46:52] Patrick Sammon: So that's around when I stop watching.

[1:46:55] Emily McLaughlin: But no, I love your podcast. I've only listened to a few episodes because I like I'm not as into Riverdale, but like I do have it in my mind that like I will one day finish that show and then stream all your episodes.

[1:47:07] Patrick Sammon: And I believe in you.

[1:47:09] Emily McLaughlin: Patrick and I have both been on the podcast, so I feel like you need kind of a segue in start with ours and then listen to the rest of the catalog.

[1:47:15] Patrick Sammon: We have a song together.

[1:47:20] Emily McLaughlin: That'd be fun.

[1:47:21] Andrew: OK, that would be fun. We should continue recording right now and just do an episode of Riverdale.

[1:47:26] Emily McLaughlin: Wait, please.

[1:47:27] Patrick Sammon: Without Abby.

[1:47:27] Emily McLaughlin: Yeah. Without Abby. Don't tell her.

[1:47:30] Andrew: OK, Patrick, do you want to say anything to the Gleeks before you go?

[1:47:38] Patrick Sammon: Be kind to each other.

[1:47:40] Andrew: Oh, that's nice.

[1:47:43] Patrick Sammon: Yes. Today is National Be Nice Day.

[1:47:47] Emily McLaughlin: It is National Be Nice Day.

[1:47:49] Patrick Sammon: It is.

[1:47:50] Andrew: And I feel like Andrew, I was a little mean to you on this episode. I'm sorry.

[1:47:52] Andrew: You're fine. I was just mad at you because you said things last week that didn't need to be said.

[1:47:59] Patrick Sammon: Are we over it now?

[1:48:00] Andrew: I got it out of my system.

[1:48:02] Patrick Sammon: We're over it.

[1:48:03] Andrew: Yeah, yeah, yeah.

[1:48:04] Patrick Sammon: We're good.

[1:48:06] Andrew: Well, I'm going to have some dinner and then go to sleep.

[1:48:11] Emily McLaughlin: Um, OK. Bye, Gleeks.

[1:48:15] Patrick Sammon: Bye.

[1:48:16] Emily McLaughlin: Bye, Gleeks.

[1:48:16] Patrick Sammon: Bye, guys.

[1:48:17] Andrew: It's Gleek.

[1:48:18] Emily McLaughlin: Gleek of the Week.
