[0:00] Andrew: We've got a mission to find the best song that's ever been on Glee.

[0:09] Andrew: There's no rhyme or reason to it, so don't get mad at me.

[0:18] Andrew: Gleek it by Gleek it, we'll rank everyone to see which song will move closer to spot number one.

[0:26] Andrew: Gleek of the Week, Gleek, Gleek, Gleek of the Week. It's Gleek, Gleek of the Week.

[0:34] Andrew: Hey! It's time for a mid-round check-in, and what better people to do it with than the Glanolytic king and queen? I'm talking about Amelia and Elijah. Hello?

[0:47] Amelia: Hi!

[0:47] Elijah: Hello!

[0:49] Andrew: Hey! You've been hard at work with these Glanolytics, and I honestly just want to get right into it. Amelia, you have a piece of paper, you have a whiteboard, you have plenty of stats to go around. Where are we starting?

[1:07] Amelia: Well, we can start with from last episode, Cassie and Maggie, right?

[1:14] Elijah: Yes, yes.

[1:15] Amelia: They were asking what the odds were of a song going through if it was picked first or second.

[1:24] Amelia: So I did, well, Excel did that math really quickly, because...

[1:29] Andrew: Do you want to guess, Andrew? I feel like this is fun.

[1:32] Andrew: I was, like, hoping, like, I was, like, because I edited it yesterday, that conversation, and I was, like, thinking, and I was, like, I really hope it's, like, close to 50-50.

[1:43] Amelia: That's what I would hope for. Is it close?

[1:48] Amelia: Overall, I mean, I think Elijah did this too, so our numbers might hopefully don't differ, I have overall thought the first song has gone through 46.42% of the time.

[2:01] Elijah: That's incredible!

[2:02] Amelia: Meaning that the second song is 53.58.

[2:06] Andrew: Okay, just, like, a little bit of a smudge, but, like, nothing to kind of, like, bat at.

[2:10] Amelia: Yeah, I mean, honestly, I honestly was shocked. I thought it would have been, you know, the recency bias, because I feel like, you know, over the years, it's always sort of been brought into the conversation that, you know, are we voting this song through, because it's the most recent, it's fresh in our heads.

[2:33] Elijah: Yeah.

[2:33] Amelia: But yeah, going through it here, I did it for all three, or all three rounds previous, and then what we have so far. Overall, the second pick has a little bit more, but it's not like, you know, 67%, or like, 75%.

[2:55] Andrew: You picked that number on purpose.

[2:58] Amelia: No, no, I didn't.

[3:02] Amelia: Um, yeah, that's, I'm really happy about that. That really made my day.

[3:07] Andrew: Thank you so much for kind of validating that the sanctity of the Glacket can be observed in that way.

[3:15] Elijah: No task is too small for us. It was like a two-day turnaround.

[3:19] Andrew: Yeah. Oh, yeah, I know. Because I just recorded that episode.

[3:22] Amelia: So fun.

[3:23] Andrew: That episode. Yeah. Wait, maybe this might be a boring answer. But like, putting that into how do you because I was like, thinking what a gigantic task to say, like, hey, first song versus second song. Is it an easy thing in Excel or wherever you're doing this to just like, put it in and be like, hey, this song versus that?

[3:45] Amelia: Yeah. So mine took me about five minutes. I don't know what Elijah did.

[3:50] Elijah: Wait, Elijah is shaking his head no.

[3:51] Amelia: Mine took me like 45 minutes because I had to, I'm in Google Docs. So I have to read through everything here and be like, okay, this-

[4:02] Andrew: You read, that's what I was concerned about that I was like, I don't want either of these.

[4:05] Elijah: Yeah, I did not do that.

[4:07] Amelia: Read through.

[4:07] Andrew: Okay, well, Andrew, I put this together in within a month. This whole thing here.

[4:12] Amelia: I really know and it's so beautiful. It's so beautiful. So I'm glad that kind of, we can like, be at rest knowing that, that it's, it's okay. 50-50 almost.

[4:29] Amelia: Basically, yeah, round two was the worst with 42.7. Like the lowest, like, I guess the second song went through the most. And then the highest was round one, actually with 48%.

[4:44] Andrew: Wow. Okay, so we have officially 20 songs now in round five.

[4:49] Amelia: Yes.

[4:49] Elijah: Yes.

[4:49] Andrew: Okay. So and we're going to obviously leave the round with, with 50. Wow. Okay, so tell me about these, these 20 songs. What interesting stats do you have to share?

[5:02] Amelia: Well, here we, let me pull this up. Sorry, I like, add things up and they're not up.

[5:07] Amelia: We're talking about Glee song analytics.

[5:10] Andrew: This is so important, Andrew. I actually dropped this lure to my coworkers yesterday. So that was fun.

[5:17] Elijah: Oh, really?

[5:18] Amelia: Yeah.

[5:19] Elijah: Were they impressed or were they scared?

[5:22] Amelia: I think like a little bit in between and they like didn't really want to comment. But then I was just at happy hour and the intern was like, Oh, I'm watching Glee with my girlfriend. And I was like, asked a little few too many questions. And then the older maintenance department manager was like, Oh, look, she's getting really excited. And I was like, Okay, let me stop because this is not even a portion of it.

[5:44] Elijah: Oh, yeah. Oh, I hate that when people are like, they call you out for being excited about something.

[5:50] Amelia: It's okay.

[5:52] Amelia: I mean, at my job. You know, I, it came up when I first started my job, we had, you know, that icebreaker, whatever, whatever. And it was a random question. And my question was, which podcast do you listen to? Lucky me. So yeah, I went into the whole, whole spiel there.

[6:15] Amelia: And I was like, I listened to a Glee podcast. And this was I think this was right after I had my first appearance. So I was like, yeah, I was on an episode.

[6:25] Elijah: Oh, so you could plug the episode?

[6:26] Amelia: Yeah, yeah.

[6:27] Elijah: They're like, Oh, that's cool. And it was sort of like, okay, like, yeah.

[6:34] Andrew: Oh, well, okay. So what I'm hearing is that you both had weird experiences, but you're in a safe space.

[6:40] Amelia: Very much so. Well, because mine came up, like, I'm a manager, like manufacturing manager. So everything is like spreadsheets and metrics and stuff. So I was like, I love spreadsheets.

[6:51] Andrew: And then I got into the whole thing.

[6:53] Andrew: Which is crazy to me, not to completely segue, Amelia, but like, literally, I think that we met while like, you were just out of high school.

[7:01] Amelia: Wait, yes. And now I'm employed.

[7:05] Andrew: And now you're a manager?

[7:07] Amelia: Yeah.

[7:08] Andrew: You're managing?

[7:09] Amelia: Yeah.

[7:09] Andrew: That's really crazy.

[7:10] Elijah: Gleeks and STEM.

[7:11] Amelia: Wow.

[7:12] Andrew: I know Gleeks and STEM.

[7:14] Andrew: Wait, okay. So speaking of Gleeks and STEM, Amelia, do you want to go through some stats of the 20 songs that we have?

[7:21] Amelia: Yes. So of those 20 songs, season two has seven songs going into round five.

[7:30] Elijah: Yeah.

[7:30] Amelia: Season one has four.

[7:33] Amelia: Season four and five have three. Season three has two. And season six has one.

[7:39] Elijah: Okay.

[7:39] Amelia: Which makes sense.

[7:41] Amelia: And season five, all three of the songs that were pulled.

[7:45] Elijah: Yes, have gone through.

[7:47] Amelia: Which is, wait, can I do this from memory?

[7:49] Elijah: Yeah.

[7:49] Amelia: Gloria, Broadway Baby, and actually.

[7:56] Elijah: Oh, Nasty Rhythm Nation.

[7:57] Amelia: Good job.

[7:58] Amelia: Beautiful.

[7:59] Elijah: There we go.

[8:00] Amelia: And then the other thing is that there are 11, so more than half of the songs that have been cut have been from season one.

[8:09] Elijah: Really?

[8:10] Amelia: But that makes sense because there were the most season ones. I just looked this up and like the document from the end of season three, there were 31 songs from season one, 25 season two, 14, three, 12, four, nine, five, seven, six.

[8:33] Andrew: The number of Gleeks are going to love this episode. The non, the alphabet Gleeks are going to be like, what the hell?

[8:39] Amelia: I'm sorry.

[8:42] Amelia: No, I'm asking the questions and I'm getting the answers and I'm really happy about it.

[8:47] Andrew: Wait, so, okay, non-number questions. What characters, Elijah, I'm throwing this to you if you have the answer.

[8:56] Elijah: Not entirely.

[9:05] Amelia: Elijah, audio medium is showing the whiteboard full of exactly that stat.

[9:11] Andrew: Okay.

[9:15] Amelia: Well, the best part about this answer is that Blaine has the most solos going through so far.

[9:20] Elijah: With how many?

[9:22] Amelia: Three.

[9:24] Elijah: Wait, can I name these?

[9:25] Amelia: Please.

[9:26] Elijah: Cough Syrup, Teenage Dream season two, and, huh, I actually don't.

[9:34] Amelia: Wait, that's them?

[9:35] Elijah: Oh, in Somewhere Only We Know.

[9:36] Amelia: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

[9:37] Elijah: Yeah, but you can never forget the last one because

[9:45] Amelia: Alton Dodge herself would come haunt you.

[9:47] Elijah: Yes.

[9:49] Andrew: Um, yes.

[9:50] Amelia: Okay, so Blaine has the most, which, and then who, how are the other characters faring?

[9:56] Elijah: Artie, Kurt, Mercedes, and Rachel have one.

[9:59] Amelia: Okay, and Artie's gonna remain at one.

[10:01] Elijah: Yes.

[10:02] Amelia: That's 100% for Artie.

[10:03] Elijah: Yes.

[10:03] Amelia: So Mercedes has the opportunity for the most. She has three left.

[10:10] Elijah: Rachel has two left.

[10:12] Amelia: Blaine has one left.

[10:13] Elijah: Mercedes, do you have the opportunity to do the best thing of all time?

[10:17] Amelia: But like, I think that Blaine, I mean, last Blaine song is Not Gonna Teach Your Boyfriend.

[10:23] Elijah: So I feel like he's pretty good about that.

[10:26] Amelia: He's kind of got that. And wait, he's only lost. It's not right, but it's okay.

[10:33] Elijah: Oh, and Teenage Dream Season 4.

[10:35] Amelia: Yes.

[10:37] Elijah: Okay. Those are the ones to go, I think.

[10:42] Amelia: Yeah, I'm sad about Teenage Dream Season 4, but like, I can't be greedy.

[10:47] Elijah: So.

[10:49] Andrew: Wait, is there anybody doing remarkably bad?

[10:54] Amelia: Mercedes has lost three, but she also came in with eight.

[10:58] Elijah: Yeah.

[10:59] Amelia: So like, no.

[10:59] Elijah: I'm like, kind of like, starving her.

[11:02] Amelia: A little bit.

[11:03] Elijah: No. I'm like, kind of like, I know that I kind of like, kind of gave her too much last round. And I'm like, okay, it's kind of time to cut some corners here.

[11:15] Amelia: Take away her top.

[11:15] Elijah: And then there's-

[11:17] Amelia: Take away the tops. Yeah.

[11:20] Elijah: Santana, none of her solos have been pulled from the cup yet, and she has five.

[11:26] Amelia: So actually-

[11:26] Elijah: She has five.

[11:28] Amelia: Yes. She has-

[11:31] Elijah: Wow.

[11:32] Amelia: Valerie, Songbird, Mine, Nutbush, and Dromp.

[11:38] Elijah: Okay. I think that she's gonna leave this round with two.

[11:41] Amelia: What would those two be?

[11:42] Elijah: Two.

[11:44] Amelia: I think it's gonna be Valerie and Mine.

[11:47] Elijah: Yeah.

[11:48] Amelia: Or Valerie and Songbird. Kind of like, pick your poison.

[11:52] Elijah: But I think Valerie for sure.

[11:55] Amelia: I don't see Dromp, Nutbush kind of skirted by just a little bit in our last time together.

[12:03] Elijah: And then what was the last one? Oh, that was it. That was it.

[12:07] Amelia: Well, it's sad if Dromp doesn't make him through, because then we don't-

[12:09] Elijah: we won't be able to get Dromp the Dromp.

[12:12] Amelia: But also, can we actually have a conversation about this right now in the middle of this analytics? If we had Dromp the Dromp the three of us right now, which isn't possible.

[12:23] Elijah: Right.

[12:23] Amelia: What would we-

[12:25] Elijah: What would we vote for?

[12:25] Amelia: I don't think anybody would not pick Rachel's Dromp.

[12:28] Elijah: Yeah. Do you know who would pick Santana's version? Eduardo, probably.

[12:34] Amelia: Eduardo. I think that Heather Morris would choose Santana's Dromp.

[12:42] Elijah: I think there's a maybe Kevin McHale.

[12:47] Amelia: Like, that's fair. But like, Dromp is Dromp and you know it even if you don't know Glee, which comes back to the whole-

[12:53] Elijah: Dromp is Dromp and you know it.

[12:56] Amelia: And you know it. It's so funny. This is me being such a freak, but I went to Broadway Rave like a year ago. And you can tell- and they played the Barbra Streisand version, but you can tell who's singing the Glee version.

[13:09] Elijah: Which Glee- are you talking about Santana or Rachel?

[13:12] Amelia: Rachel.

[13:13] Elijah: Yeah.

[13:14] Amelia: Rachel.

[13:14] Elijah: Well, I don't- because I feel like I could be able to tell if someone was singing-

[13:18] Amelia: Wait, yes.

[13:18] Elijah: Um, there's my band out. Yeah.

[13:21] Amelia: Yes.

[13:21] Elijah: Doing the runs.

[13:22] Amelia: But like, rather than the like, original version, like people are singing the Glee version.

[13:28] Andrew: Yeah. Okay, wait, so any more character stats? Do we have-

[13:35] Amelia: That's the only interesting ones. I mean, we have people with like, people- characters with one song left. So like, that has to be pulled. So like, Will, Unique, Tina, Roderick, um, Jesse, Holly Holiday, Harmony, Emma, Brittany could all get knocked.

[13:54] Elijah: Yeah, I don't think Will's making it. Will's not making it through.

[13:58] Amelia: Will's not making it.

[14:00] Elijah: Nice baby.

[14:01] Amelia: Will's not making it. I don't think Harmony's making it.

[14:05] Elijah: I don't know about that.

[14:06] Amelia: I think-

[14:07] Andrew: That's what it's up against. Yeah. If it's against a stinker, I think Harmony could make it. No, I'm saying I love anything goes, anything you can do. But I don't think that it has enough shooters. But I think it depends. Yeah. Brittany, I think is done. More than words, right? Allison08 hates Christmas rapping. There are multiple people that despise this song. Yeah. I think that's like a depends for me. Like I love Christmas rapping. Yeah. At the right time of the year. Emma? Emma's interesting. Because that's touch a touch a touch me? Yes. Hmm. And like I'm thinking about like even like if you have like touch a touch a touch me versus like Christmas rapping. Like what are you doing? Touch a touch a touch me. Are you crazy? I I think I could go Christmas rapping. I could really I could be convinced either way. I really love both. Okay, wait. So what other analytics? Elijah? Elijah, you go, please. What do you have to share?

[15:10] Elijah: So nothing too crazy. We have had so far within these 10 episodes, we've had a couple of people, a couple of Gleeks featured a couple of times. Patrick, you really love Patrick. Ian, Lena, and then most recently, Maggie, they've each been a part of four competitions. So far, the longest episode, this round was blow my low, which was two hours and three minutes. Blow my low. Oh, my God. That was Oh, that was Hunter and Ian. Yeah. Yeah. And then a fairly recent one to blame it on the Anne Hathaway. That one was two hours and seven minutes. Mm hmm. Shortest one so far was a breakfast on their shirt. That one was that was with Matt. Yeah, that was about an hour and 16, which I thought it would be longer with Amman and Matt.

But yeah. And then same little fun exercise I did last time. Glee cast mentions in the title of the episode. Oh, clocking the die. So Mrs. Diana Argonne. Argonne, you're the only two have listened to this episode so far. So that's incredible that you're already making that reference. That was good. It was just your reaction to you were like, Cassie, what the fuck did you just say? I was laughing so hard. It was was picturing the carousel. That's the periodic table. Oh, it's just it's just in my head. Yes. The periodic chart. And yes, of course. Got it. And then we had blow my low, obviously. So Blaine. Yeah. Corey memory for Mr. Corey Monteith. So far, we've had four unanimous, unanimous episodes, which I'm kind of surprised by.

[17:22] Andrew: Why are you surprised by that?

[17:28] Elijah: Because like previous rounds have not kind of shown that. So previous rounds there, there's been a decent, there hasn't been as many unanimous episodes. I'm just shocked because, you know, we're really getting down into like the nitty gritty. People will have varying opinions on songs. You feel like there would be, you know, more opposing votes than votes being shared. But yeah, so we have four unanimous episodes. There's been 12 unanimous competitions. Okay. And then I do have sort of relating to which character has been doing the best I have, which singer has won the most in a unanimous competition. Rachel and Santana both have had four songs that they feature on that have been a part of those competitions.

And that's just feature like that could be that doesn't mean solo, that could mean a group number that they're just in. So more with like, not that they're featured in it, they have some, a line or a part within the song. But yeah, so Rachel and Santana both have four. Just the New Directions as a whole have three. And then we have both Mercedes and Britney with two. And then so far, at least in regards to the Instagram votes, we've had four. We've had four competitions where people have disagreed with the winner. I'm so curious. I think at this time of recording the like the most like recent polls have not reflected what decision was made in the episode, I believe, right? I'm thinking like Nasty Rhythm Nation versus Sweet Transvestite, people voted for Sweet Transvestite when Rhythm Nation went through in the episode.

[19:29] Andrew: Yeah, lowkey, that was me. That was you. That was you. Yeah, that was you. And you bought a lot of bots. Just me. Spamming. Spamming. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yep. But with within those four competitions, so Being Alive versus It's Not Right, But It's Okay, the InstaGleeks voted for It's Not Right, But It's Okay with 62%. Wait, Amelia, you have a reaction to this.

[19:59] Amelia: No, but like, I, Blinkstand, we know this. I love, well, also Company's my favorite musical. So that's like, but I think Being Alive is like Kurt's. Can I say Kurt's Drop? Am I allowed to say that? We've had a really good competition before. Would you not say that Being Alive, that Rose's turn is Kurt's Drop? I feel like that.

[20:18] Elijah: Yes. Okay. Yeah. I feel like Being Alive is his. It's all coming back to me now. If we're comparing it. Perfect. I like that. Okay. Okay. Well, do I even want to bring in, is Being Alive his, my man? Or it's all coming back to me now. His my man would be not the boy next door. But I think I, I think I agree there. Because I think it's all coming back to me now. What's being served plot wise there is like, okay, recognition. It's just like, okay. Rachel's getting it with Whoopi. And also Kurt's getting it with Whoopi. Yeah, both those songs. So I understand what you're saying, Elijah. I'm glad that we did this exercise.

[21:14] Elijah: Yeah, so and then there was a tie as well with the voting, which this competition, the time makes no sense to me. It was Borderline Open Your Heart versus Proud Mary. It was 50 50. Wow. And that interesting. Yeah, that's the only one so far. And you know, those aren't super common. I thought it would have been, you know, for something like Bust Your Windows versus Cough Syrup. Or wait, let me. I don't know if you care about this per se. But I'm curious if I go through to see like, numbers, the exact numbers. I need to go through a lot of polls before I get to it. But we're talking about Borderline Open Your Heart versus Proud Mary. Yes. With 597 votes, Proud Mary. And with 606 votes, Borderline Open Your Heart.

I'm shocked. Okay, see, that still doesn't make sense to me. I think that Proud Mary is like so much more like the Instagram gleeks. I thought that I did. But we can't ever. The Instagram gleeks, they're, I always thought they're voting for like more iconic glee numbers. I think they're voting for more catchy. And more, you know, because in, in the polls, you know, you post the little clip and they're like, Oh, hearing this clip of the song, which one, you know, sounds better to me without knowing the full context. If they haven't listened to the episode, they might not know the conversation, what happened around that song. So it'd be like, Oh, I like the way that this one sounds. So I'm voting for Borderline Open Your Heart.

It's by Madonna. Who doesn't love Madonna? So yeah, that's why I'd be really curious what the first and second breakdown is on that. Because like, when people are on social media, the retention rate is so much quicker. Yeah, that because Borderline Open Your Heart was the first song in that. Yes, it was. So, hmm, really fascinating. Instagram gleeks. We, we found out listening. They're not listening. They're not listening. Instagram gleeks, you're not going to hear this. Okay, Elijah, what else do you have? Do you have further?

[25:07] Elijah: Yeah, so a couple more songs that the Instagram gleeks have not agreed with the winner. And I Am Telling You versus Hand In My Pocket. They voted for And I Am Telling You. Season six, the Instagram gleeks are never going to get season six. Yeah. And that was 60%. And then yeah, the most recent live episode, both of the competitions there were opposing votes. So Sweet Transvestite lost, Instagram gleeks voted that for 60%. And then Express Yourself over One Less Bell To Answer, Instagram gleeks voted for Express Yourself. And that was 68%. Which Instagram gleeks, I know you're not listening. But Instagram gleeks, I want you to not don't listen to us. Actually, don't listen to this podcast episode.

Listen to One Less Bell To Answer, House Is Not A Home. Challenge. That's what you should be listening to. You're not getting it. They aren't. Yeah. But yeah, apart from that, that's all I got here. I wish we had some pity votes. But no pity votes. No pity vote. I mean, they mainly come from you, do you? I know there's been a couple of times where you're like, I kind of want to do a pity vote. But I think that like, subconsciously, Elijah, you're in my brain when I feel tempted to do one to do. And then I'm like, I, I don't want that to be on the record. You know what I mean?

[25:29] Andrew: Yeah. Yeah, you have plenty from the past rounds. You don't need to add any more.

[25:36] Amelia: I'm done. I've capped off. Amelia, do you have anything further to add at this very moment? We could go crazy. But I think that that's

[25:40] Andrew: What would going crazy look like?

[25:42] Amelia: I mean, we can. I don't even know. There's so many things that like, I wish that I had looked at what episode. Well, we can see what episodes are left. Actually. That might be interesting instead of a more in depth breakdown of that. Okay. But so actually, nine, 10 episodes from season one, we have left. Okay, well from season two, but like, some of these have one song and some of these have a couple, right? Only nine episodes from season three. I don't even know what numbers I just said. So yeah, no, it's okay. We've got it. We were we're retaining this eight from season four, seven from season five, and I from season six, five from season six. Good. Every time that you give me a season six that I feel like I'm always like pleasantly surprised.

Well, so what was even left here? I mean, there are some hitters in season six or hidden gems. So yeah, we have problem hand in my pockets going through. Will you love me tomorrow? Bitches? Yeah, then father figure. I know where I've been and someday we'll be together. That's the only songs left in season six. Yeah, out of those. What song do you think will make it the farthest? Because I have one of the mashups. 100% one of the mashups. Um, I think hand in my pocket. Probably. I know where I've been. I have my kind of like weird qualms with um, it just like, I'll get into it when we pull it. Um, will you still love me tomorrow? Head over feet? I really love but doesn't move the needle in terms of like, plot.

Um, which is necessary. I think at this point, problem done. We're problem. We gotta go. We're so over you. I feel um, father figure, I think is also kind of ran its course. I think it's beautiful hit. Yeah, of course. But I think that it's like you get like, Noah Guthrie on the track, it's gonna be good. But like, it's not moving. Like if he had like his own drop with father figure, then we would be having a different conversation. I think, you know, well, do you think take me to church should have been here instead? I like father figure more. What about

[29:15] Andrew: I just think that, I mean, there's two ways to look at that, of like, that's really strong that it got brought back. Elijah, do you hope that, or Andrew, you probably know off the top of your head what it lost to the first two times?

[29:27] Elijah: Um, blame it on the alcohol. It lost to, in the first round it lost to Ronjoy Run, I believe, and in the second round it lost to The Scientist. It's kind of been layups both times. I have a complicated relationship with the song and I think that I would have voted Like a Prayer.

[29:49] Andrew: Yeah. But... It sucks, but like, Like a Prayer, in your glacket, was it making it to how far?

[30:02] Elijah: Like, this is probably fine for it. I don't think blame it on the alcohol is even making it to round four.

[30:07] Andrew: Yeah. Okay. Elijah... So that's my only one. Do you have grievances to share?

[30:14] Elijah: Not really. The only sort of grievance I could have here, Bust Your Windows vs. Cough Syrup, I mean...

[30:23] Andrew: You missed Bust Your Windows.

[30:25] Elijah: Yeah, Bust Your Windows is iconic. Apart from that, I mean, And I Am Telling You, that one's also a classic. But, you know, Hannah In My Pocket is also a beautiful mashup. Yeah, apart from that, no, I'm just glad, I'm glad Xiao is gone.

[30:48] Andrew: Xiao... Rest in peace.

[30:51] Elijah: Has been real quiet. Xiao has been real quiet. Okay, what are you, Amelia, what are you looking forward to seeing potentially in these competitions?

[31:01] Amelia: Um, well, it'd be so lovely to get I'm Not Gonna Teach Your Boyfriend.

[31:05] Elijah: Yes, yes, yes.

[31:07] Amelia: Duh. But I think that, I don't know, I think I want to get some of those weird ones. I think, I think it'd be fun. And I'd be annoyed about this next episode. But getting like two, like having a mid-off in one of the competitions. Because I think we need to like, I know you hated that.

[31:24] Andrew: I don't want to do a mid-off.

[31:25] Amelia: But I think we could have some fun discourse.

[31:29] Andrew: What would okay, what songs are left that would be the ultimate mid-off?

[31:35] Elijah: Let's see.

[31:37] Amelia: Like I'm thinking like, Ice Ice Baby and...

[31:42] Elijah: Versus Problem.

[31:44] Amelia: Versus Problem.

[31:45] Elijah: More Than Words.

[31:46] Amelia: Oh, God.

[31:47] Elijah: More Than Words. Thank you. Yeah.

[31:49] Amelia: Yeah.

[31:50] Elijah: Yeah, that would be that would be scary. So you want a mid-off?

[31:56] Amelia: I would be more scared to have like, two songs that I love.

[32:00] Elijah: Two heavy hitters against each other.

[32:02] Amelia: Like that would stress me out more than...

[32:04] Elijah: Yeah.

[32:05] Amelia: Because a mid-song is gonna make it through. Like it's gonna happen. Something's gonna fall through the cracks.

[32:11] Andrew: Wait, oh, what I wanted to ask earlier was, what is the most mid-song that has made it through to round five? Do you think?

[32:18] Elijah: Oh.

[32:19] Amelia: Honestly?

[32:20] Elijah: I think I have my answer.

[32:22] Amelia: Broadway Baby.

[32:23] Elijah: Off the top of my head. Broadway Baby.

[32:24] Amelia: I love Broadway Baby!

[32:25] Elijah: I would say at least... I think it's Broadway Baby.

[32:27] Amelia: I love Broadway Baby.

[32:28] Elijah: At least for me, I feel like it would be Broadway Baby. And I mean, I love you, Andrew, but hand in my pocket. I feel the earth move.

[32:36] Andrew: Wait, no.

[32:37] Elijah: Shut up.

[32:38] Amelia: Shut up.

[32:39] Elijah: Wait, I was just gonna say Blame It On The Alcohol. Because we just had that discourse.

[32:44] Amelia: And also...

[32:45] Elijah: Sorry.

[32:46] Amelia: Can I say Never Going Back Again?

[32:48] Elijah: Um, yeah. Wait, I forget what you said your favorite Artolo. Or like what you would have put.

[32:55] Andrew: My favorite Artolo is For Once In My Life. I love that.

[32:58] Amelia: Okay.

[32:59] Elijah: It's a good one.

[33:01] Andrew: And that was that one, round one. I'm trying to think. That's unfortunate. Yeah, that's fair. Because like, I guess we do need the RD representation, but it's unfortunate that it is that song.

[33:09] Elijah: No, I think it's good. And people like it. I just feel like I've changed my tune about it in a weird, negative way lately. And I don't know what that's about.

[33:16] Andrew: Well, now you don't have to think about it for...

[33:19] Amelia: I don't need to think about it for a few months. Yeah. Um, okay. So, Elijah, what are you manifesting?

[33:25] Elijah: Um, you know, I'm a sucker for any mashup. Any ballad. I want a heavy hitter, like a Paradise By The Dashboard Light. A Four Minutes. You know, I want maybe, maybe even one of the I don't know, just some heavy hitters, maybe some sleeper hits. I want it hard competition. I want a hard competition.

[33:51] Andrew: You want one? I was thinking, going into this recording, I was like, I think that it's what they deserve. It's what Amelia and Elijah deserve, that they put so much work into this clacket. And so I think you need to be here during an iconic competition.

[34:05] Elijah: Fair. Iconic, great, hard.

[34:09] Andrew: Iconic and hard. Here we go. Okay. It's not looking iconic or hard. From this song alone, this song alone. Here we go. Season five, which has a really good track record so far.

[34:25] Elijah: 100%

[34:26] Andrew: Boom. Okay, what do we think that is? Audio medium, we're looking at a man grabbing a guitar. Season five. What songs are left in season five?

[34:38] Elijah: I know, that's what game we're playing. Looking at a list, I could not tell you what this is.

[34:43] Amelia: Really?

[34:43] Elijah: List them off. List them off.

[34:45] Andrew: Yeah.

[34:47] Elijah: Here comes the sun. Oh, is it Wide Awake?

[34:50] Amelia: No.

[34:51] Elijah: What? Here comes the sun, wide awake, drop, loser like me. Is it Loser Like Me?

[34:57] Andrew: It is Loser Like Me.

[35:00] Elijah: I feel like they're in the choir room. They're getting the guitar.

[35:03] Andrew: Andrew, I'm stressed.

[35:06] Elijah: Okay, it's fine. It's fine. Let's just chill out and watch Loser Like Me, season five version.

[35:12] Amelia: Okay, can I say something?

[35:14] Elijah: I know why I got confused, but go first.

[35:17] Amelia: No, wait, why were you confused?

[35:19] Elijah: Because I thought, because I didn't remember Artie was in it because I associate the song with the trio episode. And it's playing Tina-Sam. And that's why I was confused.

[35:31] Andrew: And then that's why you're like, why the hell? Because patrons know. During the song, Amelia said, why the hell is Artie there?

[35:37] Amelia: Why is Artie there?

[35:38] Elijah: Um, okay. I remember. I guess I like forgot how slow this version. It's like, it's remarkably slow, actually.

[35:50] Amelia: I was thinking that as well.

[35:53] Elijah: I don't remember it being this slow. I think it could have stood to be like a little bit more beats per minute. You know? Um, okay. What do we think? Elijah? You want to start discourse?

[36:06] Elijah: Yeah, I, I, it's beautiful. I mean, the harmonies, the, you know, looks that they're giving to each other. It just, I feel like it has the heart of the show that the season. What is it season three version? I season two, season two version doesn't have like, there's so much heart. Oh, yeah. Like in this version, and it's, I don't know, it, it was, it was beautiful. I couldn't stop singing along. Yeah. The, the run your mouth. I love that. Um, I was also thinking not to be so negative, because I really do love this song. But I never also realized that like, planes wearing such a stupid fucking outfit in this performance. He's wearing a bright purple polo with a green bow tie. And I'm like, time and place. Stop. Hate it.

[37:11] Andrew: Yeah. Where do you think they got all those lilies?

[37:14] Elijah: The sir Lily is not. That's from Britannia. Brittany did that. Oh, girl, watch Glee.

[37:22] Amelia: I do. I just don't pick out episodes. We've gone over this, Andrew. No, you're good. You're Oh, right. Because like, you've also correct me if I'm wrong. You've only watched the series once.

[37:32] Elijah: Yeah. Compared to Amelia, we're like yin and yang.

[37:38] Amelia: Which is crazy. Crazy. Amelia, you remember the Britannia lilies of it all? Or no?

[37:44] Amelia: Yes. Yes. Yes.

[37:45] Elijah: Yeah. I'm a fake Glee cancel. I need to start my I have two more seasons of Drag Race to watch until I've watched all of them. And then I'm back on my rewatch.

[37:51] Andrew: You're back on your rewatch. Where did you leave off? Or did you? Are you starting?

[37:55] Amelia: No, I think it was complete. But then I've been popping on the 24 hour. Oh, which is done, which is done now. They took it off.

[38:07] Elijah: Really?

[38:08] Amelia: Yeah, it's off Disney plus.

[38:12] Elijah: Oh, that's so disappointing. And I'm just like, why not just leave it on? Like, who is it? Is that right? Any extra? Feed feed us. I'm upset. I'm it's really upsetting.

[38:22] Elijah: Yeah. Yep. Yep. Um, but anyway, loser like me, I really do like it. And I prefer it to the season two version. I think it's like, I've said it before. I think it's like really hilarious. And I think that they're doing it on purpose. Like the kind of like, the stripped down stupid lyrics of the night. I'll see you when you wash my car. And they're doing like a slowed down version of what they do at season two choreography, which I think is so sweet and so funny. Um, they really like stuck the landing there. Um, but I don't know. It was like really slow. It was too slow.

[39:09] Elijah: And I also watch everything. Well, I listened to this in 1.5 speed.

[39:15] Amelia: I watch everything ever sped up.

[39:17] Elijah: Yeah, that was especially slow. Yeah. Wait, let me see how long it was about two and a half minutes. Two minutes and 46 seconds start to finish. That's a whole three minutes almost.

[39:31] Andrew: Yeah. Um, how long is season two?

[39:39] Elijah: Oh yeah, let's let's let's do a comparison. Season two, but we cut out LOSCR. I can only be who I are. I can only can you imagine them singing it? Not slow.

[39:52] Amelia: Oh, I can.

[39:53] Elijah: Um, that the season two version of loser like me is two minutes and 28 seconds.

[40:06] Andrew: Oh, so we took out song and made it longer. It was still longer.

[40:12] Elijah: Well, no, I don't think that LOSCR is in the episode.

[40:18] Andrew: Yes, it is.

[40:25] Elijah: Really?

[40:25] Andrew: No, I don't think that LOSCR is a deleted portion of the song. I I don't believe you.

[40:32] Elijah: I'm pretty sure it's in the episode.

[40:38] Andrew: It's not there.

[40:39] Elijah: Yeah, I'm listening to the season two version right now.

[40:45] Andrew: Um, no, I mean, like, I just remember specifically, when they do the LOSCR, I can only be who I are is like them doing a dance circle. And they all go in. And but that's a deleted portion of the song.

[40:52] Amelia: Let me look. Millie is like, what does Reddit say? I don't know why you guys don't believe me.

[41:04] Elijah: I do believe you. But I'm just like, that's kind of shocking information.

[41:10] Amelia: Shocking information. I'm shocked.

[41:12] Elijah: Somebody Okay, Reddit is like, I choose to forget this. So that's not helpful. Because I think that's in the it's in the iTunes release the MP3.

[41:17] Amelia: Okay. I believe you. But and they filmed it, but it's not included in the episode version.

[41:24] Elijah: Um, okay. I didn't realize that. That's crazy. I always thought it was in there.

[41:31] Amelia: Maybe I'm thinking of Starships.

[41:31] Elijah: Oh, higher than any other. Yeah. Or some. There's another song where they it's some weird sort of like, phrasing like I are or something of that sort. Maybe I'm confusing it with breaks free. I can only be who I really are.

[41:48] Elijah: Yeah, I think yeah, that's break free. Yeah. Um, okay. I feel like do we not have anything to say more about this song? No. Are we bored? I'm not bored. Like low key. Amelia is bored low key. Elijah is not bored. What are you what do you what is the emotion then?

[42:03] Elijah: Just I mean, heart and joy, you know, banding together sticking through it. You know, I will say one thing that I really love about this performance is that it really encapsulates because it's

[42:23] Andrew: All them gather, the context is them like gathering around Tina because she doesn't think that she's going to get into Brown. And I really love this slew of episodes because like I'm talking about like Frenemies to New Directions. New Directions is this episode. Um, that goes downhill. Then, then, and we don't see Tina. We don't see Tina until opening night and that's it. Um, but like those slew of episodes for Tina, if the Tina heads, we love that those episodes because we get so much Tina content. And it's so fun. Like she's given so much to do. She's like kind of like the spot, like the star of a lot of scenes that she, she's in. I just, it's good for the Tina heads. Um, okay, so Loser Like Me.

Um, we're ready to see what's against. Yeah. Okay. Well, well, here we go. Okay. My bad. Oh, okay. Okay. I think the next competition is gonna be crazy. The next competition is gonna be really crazy. You're gonna know exactly what this is. And if you don't log out, boom. Oh my god. It is my man. Oh my god. And say it together. She may be difficult. But boy can she sing. We were not synced. We were not synced up, but we will be synced up in the episode when I edit it. And everything's gonna be great. Well, let's just let's just do it one more time. Because I feel like we were really giving pauses for each other. Everyone just say it. Three, two, one. She may be difficult. There we go. And it's gonna be so clean in the episode. Um, okay, I have some shit to say about this. But go, go, go now. Wait, do do I start discourse?

[44:26] Amelia: Yeah, this is your podcast. Yes, go ahead. Okay, big only because only because this is a layoff and my man is obviously going to win. I have some clothes. I was gonna vote loser like me.

[44:38] Andrew: Me too. Okay, so I feel like I can be like rightfully critical about my man. And it's like, okay, you're getting by but you're on notice. Trust. Okay. You're on note. And also it didn't win in last round's competition against four minutes. Like you are already like on thin ice. My man, my guy. My guy, you are not looking good. My guy.

[45:12] Amelia: My man, my guy. My man, this is your man. That's mine. Okay, my guy. I don't like that the other I don't know why I've never realized this before. I don't think I have. I don't like that the other characters watch the performance because and because the other because they're not all watching Rachel's and Kurt's and Mercedes and Santana's. No, they're all like in like the green room of like the choir room. They're all like just like waiting for their turn. That's when like Kurt comes back into the fire room and is like Jesse St. James Jesse St. sucks. That's right. They're all waiting because they didn't see Kurt's performance. And I don't watch.

[45:55] Andrew: Yeah, we wouldn't have gotten that line. That's true. But then just watch all the performances. Right? I guess. Yeah. I don't I don't know. I just I think I think the Rachel favoritism is really rearing its head with with this one. The fact that they all like everybody watch Rachel sing her her big one right now. And the other thing that I'm thinking is using my big brain for this. My man is almost like getting the end I'm telling you treatment where it doesn't actually beautiful song like this song we know is can an event that Rachel was going to sing my man by a series end. But I think that in a another context really could have elevated it if she was like really professing her love to Finn then like in like a really like huge moment in their story, then like wow, like we would it would even be on like an S tier.

[47:02] Amelia: Is there a specific moment you would switch it with that you can think of like a different song?

[47:08] Andrew: Um, I think like, I think I wouldn't like replace it with because it would be so weird. But I think that like, off the top of my head roots before branches, kind of like just saying saying bye to Finn, but being like, yeah, I don't know, maybe people are gonna be like, No, that doesn't make any sense, Andrew. But well, I think her whole life, not just Finn. Right? I don't know. I can't really think where else could this work? Um, she also she could have sung it. I don't know. I got nothing. I don't know either. I was just curious. Like, all they're saying is they couldn't have I she could have done it. After Cory's passing in memory of.

[48:07] Amelia: Yeah, that also feels really weird. Yeah. Because I remember like leading up to the quarterback episode, there was a fake rumor that got a lot of traction that Rachel was going to be singing. My heart will go on in the quarterback. And like, in like, in hindsight, I was like, Oh my gosh, like that was, I can't wait to see her sing like this incredible huge ballad. Yeah, this episode, but like, that would have been so inappropriate, I think to make Lee and Michelle do like a huge ballad. And like, I think make you fall my love was such the right choice. But maybe not necessarily in the quarterback. But after she's in funny girl, it's her doing it and reflecting.

[48:43] Andrew: Oh, that's I like that. That's interesting. That's my pitch. Amelia, your mind like in opening night. You're saying?

[48:58] Amelia: Yeah, kind of like in instead of who are you now? Nobody cares. Yeah. Yeah, that would have been Oh my god, major. There we go. Beautiful. You solved it. Elijah, what do you have to say? What do you have to say about my man?

[49:14] Elijah: Incredible. Amazing. God, what's that? What's that Gaga quote? Never been done before. Piss on it. Shit on it. Eat it. Yeah, all that. Yeah, it's, it's, it's amazing. I do think it would like be because this was when she was auditioning for Maria.

[49:38] Andrew: No, no, this is no, this is for the solo. This is solo at nationals. Elijah, I really need to rewatch. It's so crazy to me that you've only watched the show once and you have as many credentials as you do.

[49:52] Elijah: Yeah, I really, I'll, I'll, I'll start watching it. And hopefully, it'll all come back. So yeah, but anyway, it's, it's incredible. I mean, no notes.

[50:08] Andrew: Yeah, I just don't think that like, when they do these big numbers where it's like, hey, they're auditioning for a solo at a competition. And I'm telling you, my man, it's like, oh my god, why are we wasting this? But it's still good. And we do get the the cut to Finn in the hallway, which is iconic, and they use it time and time again.

[50:33] Amelia: Yeah, I like it. I'm glad that it's going through even though we haven't voted yet.

[50:36] Elijah: Yeah, this was this was a layup. Love. I love Loser Like Me, season five. But yeah, it kind of got screwed over here.

[50:43] Andrew: Yeah. I think the Rachel fans are going to be really happy that because I mean, that gets her more balanced up to like, so like potential solos going through. Yeah, keeping her bacon. So around five, she had four going into round four. I did erase the white board. But yes.

[51:07] Amelia: Oh, you're fine. I think it was like baby baby one more time. Gone. I'm drawn through my last one. No, it's all coming back to me now was voted back. We still have to see that. Oh, so that's not on my spreadsheet. So I gotta fix that. Do we even need to vote?

[51:24] Andrew: Yeah, no. For your records. I think that it's only right that we vote.

[51:32] Amelia: Okay, should we say it like last episode? All at the same time?

[51:36] Andrew: Yeah. Three, two, one. My man, my guy, my guy. Um, all right. You want to do another competition?

[51:50] Amelia: Please? Yes. Oh, spreadsheet. I was like, what is this song doing back in here? But it's actually another version of the same song. What could it be? We made reference to it already. It might be anything. It could be anything. It's from the same musical as the last song.

[52:13] Elijah: Oh, Trump. It's Santana's drum. Here we go. I'm excited. Okay. Yeah. Oh, I can't. Icon. Mr. Every day. In the last episode, I was talking about taking a gummy before doing a podcast recording. And honestly, the reason that I think that it's probably not a good idea is because I think I would get too emotional about that girl. I think I would get like, actually, like, uncomfortably. Yeah, yeah. It would not be fun for anybody involved. Um, okay, who wants to start this course? drum Santana's version?

[53:01] Andrew: Round one, I want to say I left a little gloicemail about this. I remember I made a clip of that. Yeah. And that was where Samantha's drop came from.

[53:07] Elijah: Yes. Yes. And what was your email about in regard to this?

[53:12] Andrew: I did not like this version. Oh, and does that remain?

[53:17] Elijah: I don't know that I did enjoy it. I think drop the drop like we're picking the other one. We already had this discourse but I was trans fits and I enjoyed it. I the way my remarks I was like, how can they hear her but that's not important.

[53:30] Andrew: Wait, what are you talking about? She's not Mike she's popping in from the back of the theater.

[53:35] Elijah: Oh, yeah, no, she has that power. I was more kind of wondering, not neither of your actors. Are you actors? No, absolutely not. Um, okay. How common is it for I thought this to for Rachel to be there for this audition process?

[54:01] Andrew: Wait, isn't there like a line about it or something? They're like, Oh, they're letting me sit in to pick my understudy or something and people are?

[54:06] Amelia: Yeah. What the justification is, because like, I'm thinking watching that that performance out of context. And I'm like, that's so inappropriate for her to be there. Yes. Yeah. If she wasn't there, though, we wouldn't have gotten those facial expressions.

[54:22] Andrew: Okay. And that's one of the things that I wrote down. That's the only thing I wrote down, actually, was that Lee Michelle, she was acting.

[54:28] Elijah: I don't think I think the opposite. I think that she's doing kind of like high cut, like not even like it's like weird comedy choices like doing like, huh? Like what is going on? Huh? And I'm just like, okay, girl, that's not the choice. You're making some bizarre choices. So that's what I'm thinking. What else do we have to say? I mean, I love it. I feel like Santana's version is very much a more like popified version.

[55:10] Andrew: Yes. Yes. And that sort of takes away the magic of, you know, Rachel's version, the Drumpf that is Drumpf. So that's some points away from it. For me, it's still good. But I mean, if you know, we were to do Drumpf v. Drumpf, it wouldn't stand a chance.

[55:36] Elijah: Yes. But how about a different Drumpf v. Drumpf? Drumpf Lee Michelle versus Drumpf Rachel Berry. I'm talking about it's, yes, it's striking how different they are. I am never choosing to listen to the Funny Girl cast album, because like, she is like doing some weird pronunciation choices when she's doing it as Fanny. But the Rachel version? Yes. I'm like, I feel safe. I feel at home. I don't know. Do you agree?

[56:04] Amelia: Yes, I will. I'm never streaming the Funny Girl album. But I have a question for you is, did you hear Drumpf for the first time on Glee? Or were you familiar with it?

[56:17] Elijah: Yeah, no, no, it's for the first time on Glee. So I think that that's probably part of it. Yeah. Yeah. So I don't know. But yeah, no, never am I streaming that. I don't think I'm streaming anything from that album. Oh,

[56:31] Andrew: I love, and I brought this up before, but the music that makes me dance, love. And I love the Act 2 finale. I think that's the name of the song.

[56:42] Elijah: Okay, that one is on my playlist.

[56:44] Andrew: Yeah, where she kind of does the megamix of all the Funny Girl songs.

[56:48] Amelia: Yes. But I'm not, if I'm streaming,

[56:54] Andrew: Lea Michele singing Funny Girl. It's Rachel Berry.

[56:59] Elijah: Yeah.

[56:59] Amelia: Yeah.

[56:59] Andrew: She's that girl.

[57:00] Elijah: Are you ever choosing to stream Santana?

[57:05] Amelia: No.

[57:06] Elijah: Never?

[57:06] Amelia: No.

[57:07] Elijah: Let's see if it's even on my playlist. I'm so curious.

[57:11] Amelia: I don't think it's on my playlist either.

[57:13] Andrew: What playlist are you talking, you're just, you have a general playlist?

[57:16] Elijah: I have a general Glee playlist. Who doesn't?

[57:21] Amelia: I have different playlists that I kind of, I have the party mix. I have the round five contenders that I like to listen to.

[57:29] Elijah: Nope. Only one.

[57:33] Andrew: Only one.

[57:34] Elijah: I only have one too.

[57:36] Amelia: And it's the Rachel version.

[57:37] Elijah: Yep.

[57:38] Andrew: Yep.

[57:39] Elijah: Wow. Not looking good for Santana's drump. I will say-

[57:44] Amelia: It could go either way.

[57:45] Elijah: It could go either way. I will say the thing that my man and Santana's drump had in common,

[57:53] Andrew: I don't like the dresses. The dresses-

[57:56] Amelia: Her dress is so short.

[57:59] Elijah: That was the first thing that I noticed.

[58:01] Amelia: So short.

[58:02] Elijah: Yeah. It's too tiny.

[58:03] Amelia: And her hips are so high.

[58:06] Elijah: Yeah.

[58:07] Amelia: Yeah. And the my man dress is like weird, like-

[58:10] Elijah: There's like weird kind of like layers to it. Yeah. No.

[58:15] Amelia: It's weird. It's like a bubbly, I don't know.

[58:18] Elijah: I would have liked to see them trade dresses.

[58:21] Amelia: Dress swap.

[58:23] Elijah: I would love to see Santana do drump in the Rachel my man dress.

[58:28] Andrew: In that little-

[58:30] Elijah: Can you Rachel do my man in that dress?

[58:33] Amelia: Rachel does my man in the little blue, yeah, in those stilettos.

[58:41] Andrew: Okay. Final song of the episode.

[58:43] Elijah: Anything final to say about Santana's drump?

[58:45] Amelia: I think it'll depend on what gets pulled.

[58:46] Elijah: Yeah. Good luck.

[58:47] Andrew: I think it's really interesting that we went into this episode with season five was completely like three for three, right?

[58:56] Amelia: Of the songs in this round so far.

[58:59] Andrew: And Loser Like Me already out.

[59:00] Amelia: And now we have another one.

[59:01] Elijah: We're also not feeling that good about it.

[59:03] Andrew: So season five, not looking good for you.

[59:07] Amelia: We jinxed it. But also like that's fine.

[59:09] Elijah: I hope it's Problem.

[59:11] Andrew: Or Ice Ice Baby so we can get it out of here.

[59:14] Amelia: I know I don't want to watch Ice Ice Baby right now.

[59:17] Elijah: It is another Santana feature.

[59:22] Andrew: Not a Santana polo.

[59:25] Elijah: Okay.

[59:25] Andrew: Is it Here Comes the Sun?

[59:27] Elijah: It is not.

[59:30] Andrew: You're gonna know what this is, of course.

[59:32] Elijah: Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom.

[59:34] Andrew: Boom!

[59:36] Elijah: Smooth Crip!

[59:37] Andrew: Oh my god. Here we go.

[59:42] Elijah: Again, please.

[59:44] Andrew: So good.

[59:45] Amelia: I want to inject it into my veins.

[59:49] Elijah: It's, oh, my favorite.

[59:52] Andrew: Let's go.

[59:53] Amelia: Everybody think about your favorite part.

[59:55] Andrew: I'll go first. My favorite part of Smooth Criminal Glee Cast vs. My Glee Cast is Santana going,

[1:00:04] Elijah: like a damn owl toward the end.

[1:00:07] Amelia: So good.

[1:00:08] Elijah: Yeah, when she goes, I don't know.

[1:00:12] Andrew: And the camera just zooms in into her face.

[1:00:16] Amelia: Elijah, you have a favorite part?

[1:00:20] Elijah: Yeah, when she goes, I don't know.

[1:00:23] Amelia: And you would be right.

[1:00:24] Elijah: And you'd be right.

[1:00:25] Amelia: No, I love the close-ups on the cellos.

[1:00:29] Elijah: I think that's so funny.

[1:00:30] Andrew: Oh, yeah.

[1:00:31] Amelia: They're, like, great.

[1:00:32] Elijah: They're, like, destroying the cellos, essentially.

[1:00:34] Amelia: Yeah.

[1:00:35] Elijah: Yeah.

[1:00:35] Amelia: It stresses me out, but.

[1:00:38] Andrew: It adds so much to it, though, too.

[1:00:39] Amelia: It adds to the, yeah.

[1:00:42] Elijah: Yeah, the mise-en-scene.

[1:00:43] Andrew: Yes.

[1:00:46] Amelia: Okay, Smooth Criminal.

[1:00:48] Andrew: What do we have to say?

[1:00:50] Amelia: I love them.

[1:00:52] Elijah: This is such, not, like, a random pairing, because, like, they're very much similar, like, archetypes within their glee clubs.

[1:00:58] Andrew: Yeah.

[1:00:59] Elijah: Is that true?

[1:01:00] Amelia: I feel like, yes.

[1:01:02] Elijah: Oh, yeah.

[1:01:02] Amelia: Or Sebastian, I guess, has more of, like, a leadership-y vibe than Santana, but, like, mean, whatever.

[1:01:11] Elijah: Sebastian is, like, the most similar, like, out of anybody in the glee club, he's most similar to Santana.

[1:01:15] Amelia: Yes, but I would never think that, like, they would, like, them doing a duet would never be, like, oh, duh.

[1:01:26] Elijah: And he's holding his own, too, which I always find, like, really, really incredible, because, like, Grant Gustin, he's a good singer.

[1:01:33] Amelia: Like, he can hold a tune, but, like, against Nai Rivera, you would expect him to get eaten up, but he really holds his own.

[1:01:41] Elijah: Yeah.

[1:01:42] Amelia: Yeah.

[1:01:43] Elijah: Yeah.

[1:01:43] Amelia: But I think that was, like, a fun pairing that's, like, a little unexpected, but also, like, makes complete sense.

[1:01:49] Elijah: Yeah.

[1:01:49] Amelia: And I'm glad we got it.

[1:01:51] Elijah: It's good.

[1:01:52] Amelia: I'm always thinking about, you know, there's that TikTok trend right now where it's, like, there's a quote that I always think about.

[1:01:56] Elijah: I don't know if you've seen that, but it's, basically, it's, like, the audio,

[1:02:08] Amelia: there's this quote I always think about.

[1:02:10] Elijah: And they'll usually go to, like, a tweet or, like, a comment, whatever that sticks out in their mind.

[1:02:17] Amelia: And I always think about, I don't know if this is on, like, Twitter, but it's, like, there's so much sexual chemistry for two people who aren't even straight.

[1:02:29] Elijah: Yeah.

[1:02:29] Amelia: Yeah.

[1:02:30] Elijah: Like, just, it's palpable, like.

[1:02:33] Amelia: Opposite sides of the spectrum, and yet they're looking like they might bang.

[1:02:39] Elijah: Yeah.

[1:02:39] Amelia: I thought they were going to kiss.

[1:02:41] Elijah: Yeah.

[1:02:41] Amelia: And I would like to see it, actually.

[1:02:45] Elijah: Yeah.

[1:02:45] Amelia: Oh, also, I wrote down, I think I probably bring this up every single time that we see the song, but I'm always curious what people think.

[1:02:51] Elijah: Where are they?

[1:02:56] Amelia: Community center?

[1:02:57] Elijah: I don't know.

[1:02:58] Amelia: Wait, at Dalton?

[1:03:00] Elijah: Because didn't she say that she went to Dalton with the tape recorder thingy?

[1:03:05] Amelia: Yeah, I think this is Dalton, but, like, we only see this room here.

[1:03:12] Elijah: Wait, and why are their chairs in circles like that?

[1:03:15] Amelia: Right. Makes no sense.

[1:03:18] Elijah: And also, I've definitely brought this up before.

[1:03:20] Amelia: For a glee club that is acapella.

[1:03:24] Elijah: Acapella.

[1:03:25] Amelia: Why are the cellos there?

[1:03:27] Elijah: Maybe Dalton encourages other performing arts, and there's cello kids.

[1:03:34] Amelia: Okay, so they're, okay, got it.

[1:03:38] Elijah: So they're saying, hey, cellists, you can also share the room.

[1:03:45] Amelia: And also, interior design club, you can also kind of store your chairs here, and they're all, they're having really, they're having a good time with putting them in a circle.

[1:03:58] Elijah: Yeah.

[1:03:59] Amelia: Maybe there was a daycare there.

[1:04:00] Elijah: They were playing, like, musical chairs or something.

[1:04:02] Amelia: That's why they're all in a circle.

[1:04:03] Elijah: But musical chairs are outside.

[1:04:07] Amelia: There's so many layers to, I don't know.

[1:04:10] Elijah: This circle, that would be a lot of people participating in musical chairs.

[1:04:15] Amelia: Maybe they'd, like, go in smaller.

[1:04:19] Elijah: It's multiple rounds, yeah.

[1:04:22] Andrew: Um, huh.

[1:04:24] Elijah: I guess, I guess we'll never know.

[1:04:26] Andrew: Um, anything else?

[1:04:28] Elijah: Who directed that episode?

[1:04:30] Andrew: Let's see.

[1:04:31] Elijah: Yeah.

[1:04:31] Andrew: It was directed by Alfonso.

[1:04:36] Elijah: Alfonso Gómez-Rejón, of course.

[1:04:39] Andrew: There you go.

[1:04:40] Elijah: So he's always making some really interesting choices.

[1:04:42] Andrew: So that makes sense.

[1:04:44] Elijah: Yeah.

[1:04:45] Andrew: I forgot that he did this one.

[1:04:45] Elijah: Circle chairs.

[1:04:47] Andrew: Circle chairs.

[1:04:48] Elijah: That's not something that, like, keeps in my brain.

[1:04:51] Andrew: Yeah.

[1:04:51] Elijah: It's like, who directed what?

[1:04:53] Andrew: Um, he has, he has a really good track record of episodes.

[1:04:57] Elijah: And just, just to say them all, there is a very short list.

[1:05:01] Andrew: Laryngitis.

[1:05:02] Elijah: Grilled Cheeses.

[1:05:03] Andrew: A Very Glee Christmas.

[1:05:05] Elijah: Born This Way.

[1:05:06] Andrew: Asian F.

[1:05:07] Elijah: Michael.

[1:05:07] Andrew: Britney 2.0.

[1:05:09] Elijah: And The Breakup.

[1:05:10] Andrew: All of those have, like, very specific looks to them as well, which is really special.

[1:05:17] Elijah: Um, anything final to say about Smooth Criminal?

[1:05:21] Amelia: Love her.

[1:05:22] Elijah: Him?

[1:05:23] Andrew: What's Smooth Criminal's pronoun?

[1:05:24] Elijah: Them.

[1:05:25] Andrew: Them.

[1:05:26] Elijah: They, them.

[1:05:27] Andrew: Love them.

[1:05:27] Amelia: Yeah.

[1:05:28] Elijah: Mm-hmm.

[1:05:30] Andrew: Her songs.

[1:05:32] Amelia: Okay.

[1:05:32] Andrew: This one was really a layup, too.

[1:05:35] Elijah: I know.

[1:05:36] Amelia: I was just thinking, like, this is gonna screw up the stats.

[1:05:39] Andrew: Is it gonna screw up?

[1:05:40] Elijah: How is this gonna mess up your stats?

[1:05:42] Andrew: Not really, but, like, recency bias.

[1:05:44] Amelia: Both songs were the second.

[1:05:47] Elijah: Yeah.

[1:05:49] Andrew: So.

[1:05:50] Amelia: But, wait, so this, so a season.

[1:05:57] Elijah: Oh, wait, let's just vote before we say anything further.

[1:06:00] Andrew: What are we voting for?

[1:06:01] Amelia: Smooth Criminal.

[1:06:04] Elijah: Smooth Criminal.

[1:06:07] Andrew: And I'm also voting for Smooth Criminal.

[1:06:09] Elijah: Should we say anything nice about Trump?

[1:06:10] Amelia: I feel like we need to.

[1:06:12] Elijah: I think she ate, like.

[1:06:14] Amelia: She knows she ate, too.

[1:06:16] Elijah: Yeah.

[1:06:16] Amelia: And, like, she got the part.

[1:06:18] Andrew: Oh, and didn't I say at the beginning of the episode that, like, I, Drumpf was canon event going home this, this round for Santana?

[1:06:26] Elijah: That was an hour ago.

[1:06:28] Andrew: I don't remember.

[1:06:29] Elijah: I don't, I, I, maybe.

[1:06:31] Andrew: Anything, Andrew?

[1:06:32] Elijah: I said, no, I, I said that, like, um, Nutbush City Limits is gone.

[1:06:39] Andrew: Drumpf is gone.

[1:06:40] Elijah: And either Songbird or mine is gone.

[1:06:43] Andrew: Yes.

[1:06:44] Elijah: Um, huh.

[1:06:46] Andrew: I guess I was right.

[1:06:48] Elijah: Um, okay.

[1:06:50] Andrew: Crazy.

[1:06:51] Elijah: Okay, so, wow.

[1:06:53] Andrew: Here we are.

[1:06:54] Elijah: Wait, so how does this affect your stats?

[1:06:56] Andrew: We have a season two song going through and a season three song going through.

[1:07:01] Elijah: Um, so that will be sort of the same.

[1:07:04] Andrew: So season two will have, again, the most songs with eight.

[1:07:08] Elijah: Okay.

[1:07:08] Andrew: Season three will then be tied with four and five.

[1:07:13] Elijah: Okay.

[1:07:13] Andrew: And then what do we have going home?

[1:07:15] Elijah: Uh, three.

[1:07:17] Andrew: Season three has officially three now.

[1:07:20] Elijah: Yeah.

[1:07:20] Andrew: Wait, what are the other two from season three?

[1:07:24] Elijah: Disco Inferno.

[1:07:25] Andrew: And Cough Syrup.

[1:07:26] Elijah: Cough Syrup.

[1:07:27] Andrew: What a weird group, right?

[1:07:30] Elijah: Huh.

[1:07:31] Andrew: I mean, no, it kind of makes sense.

[1:07:33] Elijah: I think Disco Inferno is the outlier, no?

[1:07:36] Andrew: Yeah.

[1:07:36] Elijah: No, you're right.

[1:07:37] Andrew: You're right.

[1:07:38] Elijah: Um, okay.

[1:07:40] Andrew: In recap for this episode, loser like me.

[1:07:42] Elijah: And you know what's coming.

[1:07:44] Andrew: You want to be a loser like me, don't you?

[1:07:46] Elijah: Yeah, loser.

[1:07:47] Andrew: Um, my man, my winning man.

[1:07:51] Elijah: Our man.

[1:07:52] Andrew: Our man is going into round five.

[1:07:55] Elijah: Our man.

[1:07:57] Andrew: Look at him go.

[1:07:58] Elijah: Um, don't run in my parade.

[1:08:01] Andrew: Oh, this is the first.

[1:08:03] Elijah: Oh, wow.

[1:08:04] Andrew: And we'll never have a drunken song.

[1:08:06] Elijah: It's raining.

[1:08:07] Andrew: You could pull something crazy at the end.

[1:08:09] Elijah: You make the rules.

[1:08:11] Andrew: You're going to get to 25 at some point.

[1:08:13] Elijah: No, no.

[1:08:14] Andrew: And I don't think that Don't Rain My Parade has.

[1:08:17] Elijah: No, um, Don't Rain My Parade.

[1:08:19] Andrew: We're raining.

[1:08:20] Elijah: We're raining hard on your parade.

[1:08:22] Andrew: Um, Smooth Criminal.

[1:08:25] Elijah: You were so smooth.

[1:08:28] Andrew: And you snuck right into round five.

[1:08:30] Elijah: There we go.

[1:08:31] Andrew: Are you okay to go to round five?

[1:08:34] Elijah: Is it okay?

[1:08:35] Andrew: I would say yeah.

[1:08:36] Amelia: Um, okay.

[1:08:38] Andrew: Amelia and Elijah, this has been so much fun.

[1:08:41] Elijah: Thank you so much for not only joining me for this conversation.

[1:08:45] Andrew: Um, but for all.

[1:08:48] Elijah: Oh, my God.

[1:08:49] Andrew: All the work that you do.

[1:08:50] Elijah: I cannot even believe that not just one, but two people are putting this much work into this silly little exercise.

[1:08:59] Andrew: So thank you.

[1:09:03] Elijah: Three people.

[1:09:03] Andrew: You put in so much work.

[1:09:05] Elijah: Oh, we wouldn't be here without you.

[1:09:08] Andrew: So true.

[1:09:10] Elijah: That's so sweet.

[1:09:11] Andrew: Here we are.

[1:09:11] Elijah: And now everybody subscribe to Patreon.

[1:09:15] Andrew: Oh, that's the plug.

[1:09:16] Elijah: That's your plug.

[1:09:17] Andrew: That's the plug for Andrew.

[1:09:20] Elijah: No, but Patreon is better.

[1:09:22] Andrew: No ads.

[1:09:23] Elijah: You hear the music.

[1:09:24] Andrew: You hear the songs.

[1:09:25] Elijah: You do hear the songs.

[1:09:26] Andrew: Yeah.

[1:09:27] Elijah: Songs out early.

[1:09:28] Andrew: Live episodes.

[1:09:29] Elijah: We can chit chat.

[1:09:30] Andrew: Yeah.

[1:09:32] Elijah: Come on.

[1:09:32] Andrew: Come through.

[1:09:33] Elijah: Um, wait, do you have any?

[1:09:35] Andrew: Do you have anything that you want to plug?

[1:09:37] Elijah: You have your analytics sheets where it's in.

[1:09:41] Andrew: I have them.

[1:09:42] Elijah: Oh, I do have them.

[1:09:44] Andrew: The beacon.

[1:09:45] Elijah: Yeah.

[1:09:46] Andrew: Yes.

[1:09:46] Elijah: Yeah.

[1:09:47] Andrew: And now, um, the spreadsheet has links to everything else.

[1:09:54] Elijah: So amazing.

[1:09:56] Andrew: And then on the voting analytics, we have Andrew's glorious, uh, takedown.

[1:10:02] Elijah: Analytics on there as well.

[1:10:05] Andrew: Wait, what is this?

[1:10:06] Elijah: It was you asked us to put it in.

[1:10:09] Andrew: You sent us both a message.

[1:10:11] Elijah: Oh my God.

[1:10:11] Andrew: The takedowns.

[1:10:12] Elijah: Oh my God.

[1:10:12] Andrew: Yeah.

[1:10:13] Elijah: Yeah.

[1:10:13] Andrew: I'm stupid.

[1:10:17] Elijah: Where it's like, okay, all the songs that are officially in round five, the songs that they beat to get there and all the songs that those songs beat to get there.

[1:10:24] Andrew: Yeah.

[1:10:25] Elijah: It was for the top, top 100, I believe.

[1:10:28] Andrew: Amazing.

[1:10:29] Elijah: Thank you again.

[1:10:31] Andrew: And until next week,

[1:10:33] Elijah: Okay, bye.

[1:10:36] Andrew: It's Gleek.

[1:10:37] Elijah: Gleek of the Week.
