[0:00] Andrew: We've got a mission to find the best song that's ever been on Glee.
[0:09] Andrew: There's no rhyme or reason to it, so don't get mad at me.
[0:18] Andrew: Gleek it by Gleek it, we'll rank everyone to see which song will move closer to spot number one.
[0:26] Andrew: Gleek of the Week, Gleek, Gleek, Gleek of the Week. It's Gleek, Gleek of the Week.
[0:35] Andrew: Hey, I'm so excited for this month's live stream. I'm joined by, I'm already seeing the chat going crazy. Patrick, I love you and miss you. Of Patrick, I love you and miss you fame. Patrick, hey.
[0:51] Patrick Sammon: Hey, Andrew. Hi, Gleeks. What's going on? Happy summer.
[0:55] Andrew: Happy summer. Patrick Mahomey, Elijah is saying. So how are you? How are you doing? What's going on?
[1:04] Patrick Sammon: How am I doing? Like personally or like Gleek-wise?
[1:11] Andrew: Let's do Gleek-wise.
[1:15] Patrick Sammon: The same thing. Gleek-wise? Okay. I don't really care about how you're doing personally.
[1:24] Patrick Sammon: Okay, so Gleek-wise, I haven't been, I feel like sometimes you come on the pod or some of the other people do and they're like, I haven't watched Glee in a while. I haven't really watched Glee in a while.
[1:36] Patrick Sammon: And usually when I'm about to prep for one of these recordings, I like try to watch an episode or two. But I feel like I've been listening to more Glee music than I have been watching Glee.
[1:48] Andrew: What's the latest on the rotation?
[1:54] Patrick Sammon: I have a summer playlist where I have some like Glee summer faves on it. So like, Human Nature is like my Glee summer song. It's a very like, July coded song. I'll say that.
[2:09] Andrew: Okay, yeah, it is. Everyone stream Human Nature by Gleecast.
[2:15] Patrick Sammon: Well, I remember and maybe I told this story before, but like when I graduated from college, I didn't have like a job lined up. So I kind of just like hung around my college campus that summer and like, did really stupid stuff all the time.
[2:25] Patrick Sammon: And I was like, at my friend's house, and they were like, put on your music, which like no one ever asks me to do because I don't have music taste.
[2:37] Patrick Sammon: And then we played my playlist that had Human Nature by Gleecast on it. And it was a hit and people like, send this to me. And I'm like, that I will.
[2:43] Andrew: No, really?
[2:51] Patrick Sammon: Yes, yes, yes. And you know, it was 2016. So it was probably like, wait, the song is lit fam. Because that's what like we talked like in 2016. You know, and I said, Yeah, it is.
[3:02] Patrick Sammon: I also had no idea that Riverside had this ability that were using these hearts coming up as a result of streaming. Like, wait a minute, where did they even come from?
[3:10] Patrick Sammon: Okay, but now there's like party anger reactions. Wait, and they're saying, they're like, Wow, wow. Okay, this is incredible.
[3:17] Patrick Sammon: Wait, um, I have been like, really, I think I mentioned this on a previous episode that like, I have been really in my Glee, like live stream era, where just like putting it on Disney Plus. Do you know about this?
[3:31] Andrew: And I do I do know, because I have you ever dabbled?
[3:38] Patrick Sammon: I haven't because I can just like watch Glee when I want to. But I will say I am a huge fan of like, what TV used to be, which is you couldn't really decide, but you have like a little bit of control.
[3:51] Patrick Sammon: So it was fun to just kind of like walk like be forced to watch things where it's like, I don't know if I want to watch this one. But I do have my like obsessive Degrassi channel, because I have a Samsung TV.
[4:08] Patrick Sammon: And like, they have like a channel that says all the grassy all the time. But I also HBO, Max, and I also have YouTube.
[4:16] Andrew: You have a lot on the party at Patrick's house. Truly.
[4:22] Patrick Sammon: Wait, um, what do you want me to explain?
[4:26] Andrew: How much content of Degrassi is there like that it could have like a rotation? Like is there is is there more content than Glee? Is there less?
[4:30] Patrick Sammon: Yeah, there was 14. Well, there's like multiple eras. So there's like, ones from the 80s and stuff. But like the Degrassi that we talked about, like with Drake and stuff like that started in 2001.
[4:42] Patrick Sammon: I think and who's this girl that we're kind of we're both obsessed with that we both follow her private Instagram account. What's her name?
[4:48] Andrew: Oh, Miriam McDonald.
[4:55] Patrick Sammon: Miriam McDonald. Watch this space. She really has it. I just remember like watching just like a few episodes as like a middle schooler and just being like this girl has it. She is iconic.
[5:11] Andrew: Elijah in the chat says Degrassi more like Degrossi.
[5:21] Patrick Sammon: Oh, no, he's calling it Degross. But the point being there are 14 seasons and then there were like Netflix adapted it for a few seasons after and stuff like that.
[5:26] Patrick Sammon: So there's a lot of content. And I actually also listen to a Degrassi podcast.
[5:32] Andrew: Shout it out. What is it?
[5:39] Patrick Sammon: And I will. It's called the anti grapevine. I don't listen to the ones by like the actual Degrassi people because I think that their takes are boring.
[5:44] Patrick Sammon: It's like, I remember this day on set. This person was there. I'm like, I don't care about that. This person was so nice.
[5:52] Andrew: Weren't they so nice?
[5:58] Patrick Sammon: Yeah, they were really great. So I know we started off the I need to close the chat because people are hating on Degrassi.
[6:04] Patrick Sammon: The we started off this day really are waiting. What do you what do you have to Greek wise and what are you up to personally?
[6:09] Andrew: What I'm up to personally is thinking and talking about Degrassi. What I am up to Greek wise is playing Human Nature on Spotify.
[6:14] Patrick Sammon: But no, I haven't. I haven't been doing a lot. But I have been excited because Kate, who I think is in the chat is doing like a glee museum.
[6:30] Andrew: So I go on Instagram and I look at like what sort of stuff she has planned. And that's very exciting. I will not be there, but you will, right?
[6:34] Patrick Sammon: And I will be capturing the content, Kate, Kate, everyone's gonna see this. Everyone's gonna see the great work that you've done.
[6:40] Andrew: So jealous.
[6:47] Patrick Sammon: Yeah, I am so excited that I because like, I've seen Kate brought a few items to a glee up a few years back.
[6:57] Patrick Sammon: And it was like, Naya's Cheerio uniform, Quinn's loser like me, costume, outfit. And what was the other one, Kate, there was the third one.
[7:13] Andrew: Sugar Mata.
[7:21] Patrick Sammon: Oh, sugars national dress sugars season three national stress, which is all that iconic.
[7:30] Andrew: And the season three national numbers are very much on my summer playlist. And we better pull some tonight because I feel like I need to protect them.
[7:36] Patrick Sammon: We still haven't pulled paradise. And we brought back from the dead. It's all coming back to me now. So I need both of those numbers pulled not in the same competition, but separate competitions, and I will save them and go to bat for them.
[7:47] Patrick Sammon: Also, what I'm up to personally is thinking about that. What I've been up to personally, since you asked, and since everyone's really wondering, is I Okay, so the funniest thing is I took a nap.
[8:00] Patrick Sammon: A This is the funny thing that I took a nap. I took a nap about like a week or two ago. And I woke up to two text messages from Jenna Auschwitz.
[8:15] Andrew: And it was a video of okay, not even Instagram DMS, but text messages like you have her phone number.
[8:24] Patrick Sammon: Oh, I got a text. Hold on, hold on, hold on.
[8:29] Andrew: Um, how many other Glee cast members do you have like personal numbers for? Because you have Robert or his personal number?
[8:33] Patrick Sammon: I know. And then you've done it.
[8:40] Andrew: What's his number?
[8:47] Patrick Sammon: Robert. So I do have I have Heather Morris's phone number.
[8:51] Andrew: My God, and it's Jenna and Oh, I have piano Brad, actually. I have his number, but he's never been on the pod.
[8:55] Andrew: What's going on with that pod? Because like he was like, when I when I was like, trying to book him, we're really like, we're really towing out what happened with this Jenna text.
[9:02] Patrick Sammon: What happened was, I was going like, I reached out to him on Twitter. And then he was like, here's my number. And I started texting him and he had like some health problems at the time of the time that we were going to have him on the podcast.
[9:10] Patrick Sammon: And then I felt weird about being like, Oh, like, come on when the health probably whatever.
[9:17] Patrick Sammon: Yeah, but he was on Kevin and Jenna's podcast, lovely interview.
[9:24] Patrick Sammon: Anyway, Jenna texted me a video of her doing some cleaning around the house. And, and she and she was like, Hey, do you guys do you guys do you remember the Super Bowl episode where all the girls were on?
[9:40] Andrew: Yeah, I do. I remember.
[9:47] Patrick Sammon: I do. Yeah, I remember Sue Sylvester. You don't, but I definitely do.
[9:51] Patrick Sammon: And, um, and so and she was like, Hey, I have this, uh, the teenage jersey. Um, and do you want it?
[9:56] Andrew: And I was like, hell, yeah, here's my address.
[10:05] Patrick Sammon: And here it is. Oh, I'll include a picture for the post of this this episode. It has the pants I was going to put it on.
[10:11] Patrick Sammon: But it's actually I know I'm skinny. I know everyone thinks that I'm so skinny, but I'm not this skinny. It's really slim fitting.
[10:17] Patrick Sammon: Um, but just know that I would put it on.
[10:25] Patrick Sammon: Um, and so anyway, I, the crazy thing is, is that when I got it, I got the package. And then me and Elias like wanted to celebrate getting it by like, just like putting on an episode of Glee.
[10:30] Patrick Sammon: This is crazy. Put on the Glive stream. The scene that opens is all of the girls walking toward camera.
[10:38] Andrew: That is crazy.
[10:46] Patrick Sammon: In the suits of a shuffle and the jerseys. And I was like this, the timing could have been more perfect.
[10:50] Andrew: Um, so that is like Kismet. Like, I love it.
[10:54] Patrick Sammon: Sorry.
[11:00] Andrew: Yeah. What was can I ask? Like, what was the text messages about before Jenna randomly texted you?
[11:06] Patrick Sammon: Like, how long have gone by? Like, was she just it's been like two months to talk. She's like, do you want this like jersey?
[11:11] Andrew: You know what? I'm going to post this too. I'm going to post this as well because I haven't posted this.
[11:16] Patrick Sammon: Patrick, you were at my birthday party. The only time, the reason that I have Jenna's phone number is because I messaged her ahead of my 30th birthday party where I was asking everybody to send in the Define Gravity riff.
[11:29] Patrick Sammon: And, and so she was like, I want to get you like a really good version. She took two different takes for me and two different outfits, two different iterations.
[11:41] Patrick Sammon: Um, she texted me like doing the, um, and so I, that's, she like, didn't want to send it over Instagram. She wanted to text it to me.
[11:55] Andrew: And so that's why I have her number.
[12:04] Patrick Sammon: Um, and I was very glad to wake up to, uh, a text from that lady.
[12:10] Andrew: So, so if you scroll in your phone from texts from Jenna Auschwitz, this is kind of crazy to me.
[12:15] Patrick Sammon: There's videos of her doing a Wicked Riff for your 30th birthday party. And then the next ones are, do you want?
[12:21] Andrew: Do you want Tina's costume?
[12:27] Patrick Sammon: No, I, yes. There's no happy birthday. I won't be posting. There's no Merry Christmas.
[12:39] Andrew: There's no happy Mother's Day.
[12:45] Patrick Sammon: But she's Jewish. Maybe.
[12:51] Andrew: Yeah. Um, I, I, is she? Do we know this?
[12:56] Patrick Sammon: Um, um, I won't, I won't post the video of her doing the cleaning.
[13:02] Andrew: Um, but I will post the videos of her doing the riff, which I never posted. It's so good. She eats up.
[13:11] Patrick Sammon: Yes. I do the cooking. Yes. I do the cleaning. Yes. I keep the riff real sweet for your listening. That's what she said right before.
[13:19] Andrew: Yeah.
[13:24] Patrick Sammon: Um, so Jenna girl, we love you so much.
[13:29] Andrew: Yeah. Okay. That was like a really, we're, we're good at this. We're good at like talking to each other and making content because like, look at how you made that all work together.
[13:36] Patrick Sammon: The live streams, the gleeking, the Degrassi, it all just kind of came together like in a really nice little bow.
[13:45] Andrew: That was great. I love, I think that's the end of the episode. Actually. We just naturally had a great conversation.
[13:51] Patrick Sammon: I think this is a new record, 13 minutes long. I think that's fine.
[13:56] Andrew: The leaks in the chat also are like really, really, really, really excited to buy you having Jenna's number as was I.
[14:07] Patrick Sammon: So I'm very, I'm very glassed Glee blast.
[14:14] Andrew: Um, wait, Patrick, do you have one?
[14:21] Patrick Sammon: Sorry. Like, is this like a wedding dress where you just like have it in like the back of your closet? Are you going to frame it?
[14:27] Patrick Sammon: Are you going to framing it and like the most, okay. The leaks might be mad at me for making this reference, but of course, um, Finn's Jersey is, um, immortalized in the locker room and the hit Fox show Glee.
[14:34] Patrick Sammon: I think Tina's Jersey should be immortalized in my living room in a frame. You know what I mean?
[14:40] Andrew: And so I think I'm thinking about framing it.
[14:44] Patrick Sammon: I think my Boy Scout uniform. That's also what I do personally. Everybody thinking about, thinking about.
[14:52] Andrew: Wait, do you still have your Boy Scout uniform framed in your place of living right now?
[14:56] Patrick Sammon: Are you like carousel content?
[15:01] Patrick Sammon: Yeah.
[15:10] Andrew: Carousel content. Come on, come on.
[15:17] Patrick Sammon: I don't, I don't have it here. It's at my parents' house.
[15:21] Andrew: Okay. Um, Drew is asking what quote will, will I put on the placard?
[15:27] Patrick Sammon: What Tina quote should I put?
[15:31] Andrew: My mom won't let me watch Twilight cause she thinks Kristen Stewart's a bitch.
[15:36] Patrick Sammon: And there we go. That is the best Tina line. I am obsessed with that line.
[15:41] Andrew: It's really good.
[15:45] Patrick Sammon: Um, that's so perfect. Okay. Um, Patrick, do you have anything to say about the Glackett?
[15:51] Patrick Sammon: Um, yeah, I do. Do you, do you think that I have anything to say about the Glackett?
[15:56] Andrew: Like, let's pretend I didn't say yes. Like, do you think that I didn't have anything to say?
[16:01] Patrick Sammon: That's fine. I would be okay with that. And because you're my friend and I would be okay with you, either option.
[16:08] Andrew: Okay. Um, maybe one more time. You kind of referenced this in the last episode.
[16:14] Patrick Sammon: Can we like all collectively just like stop bringing that up? I know I'm bringing it up right now, but like, why are all the guests like maybe one more time?
[16:22] Andrew: Like I kind of wanted to see that in round five.
[16:26] Patrick Sammon: Why it's weird. Stop. Everybody stop. We're done with that. Just stop.
[16:34] Patrick Sammon: Maybe one last time. Let that be the week of the week. Brittany Stan. I'm, I'm the Gleek of the week. Brittany army representative. And I say we're done.
[16:41] Andrew: Okay.
[16:45] Patrick Sammon: Thank God mercy is dead. You know, I clapped and cheered for that.
[16:50] Andrew: Also, thank God. The only exception is dead. You know, I clap and cheered for that.
[16:56] Patrick Sammon: Love that scene.
[17:00] Andrew: Oh, yeah. And I was driving.
[17:03] Patrick Sammon: Um, and so then like, that was dangerous for me, but I still had to again, the riverside of it all seeing people clap emoji and put party poppers and reaction to what you're saying.
[17:10] Andrew: That's rude. That's so rude.
[17:14] Patrick Sammon: I love it. Keep it. Keep it going, Gleeks.
[17:18] Andrew: All right. My only disagreement and I don't really know if it's like, how I really feel, but I think if I was on the episode where it was teenage dream versus love and touching squeezing, I don't know what I would have done.
[17:26] Patrick Sammon: Mostly just because I've pulled teenage dream twice before when I've been on and even once on a live stream, but I'm kind of like twice on a live stream.
[17:32] Andrew: Well, it's really funny with Stephanie.
[17:35] Patrick Sammon: Yeah, who I believe is here. Hi.
[17:39] Patrick Sammon: I, but I don't, I don't really need it to go much farther. But like, I personally like loving touching squeezing quite a bit more, but it is like only one third of the medley.
[17:46] Andrew: So I don't know.
[17:50] Patrick Sammon: But say what I was kind of like, for a loving, maybe I think I would have wanted to like have a conversation.
[17:56] Andrew: And like, in, in that moment, like, would you guys have been like, you're kind of letting your like, overnight over itness of the song influence your decision versus not.
[18:06] Patrick Sammon: But the only one last thing that I have to say is I think it was with Connor.
[18:12] Andrew: Who's he recently on with Connor and Emily?
[18:16] Patrick Sammon: Yeah, Emily. Um, you guys were talking about mashups.
[18:21] Andrew: And I want to volunteer my favorite mashup that got paid dust and you guys didn't even talk about it.
[18:29] Patrick Sammon: Go ahead, man. What, what, what did we forget?
[18:34] Andrew: Don't stand so close to me, young girl.
[18:38] Patrick Sammon: No. It's season three. There may be there may be dodgeballs involved.
[18:44] Andrew: Oh, see, I don't like that.
[18:48] Patrick Sammon: I it's fine.
[18:50] Andrew: Why?
[18:52] Patrick Sammon: Okay, hit me.
[18:54] Andrew: One way or another.
[18:59] Patrick Sammon: Yes. Okay, I'm Yeah, I'm being a hater.
[19:02] Andrew: I like um, I really love that Naya where she does the and if the lights are all out, I play that at my funeral.
[19:10] Patrick Sammon: That's so good.
[19:12] Andrew: Um, so when you all were chatting, I was like, they're leaving out my favorite and I'm taking it personally.
[19:18] Patrick Sammon: That's your favorite up to personally. That's, that's, that's what I'm stuck on.
[19:23] Andrew: I think that's my favorite.
[19:25] Patrick Sammon: I mean, it's tough because like, obviously, there's the Adele mashup and stuff like that.
[19:29] Andrew: So maybe can I amend what I said? And say like, that's kind of like my favorite of like, the not like super obvious, like iconic one.
[19:35] Patrick Sammon: Okay.
[19:39] Andrew: Okay, it might be number two. What if it's number two? What then?
[19:43] Patrick Sammon: Then wait, what's it? What are you saying?
[19:46] Andrew: His first then?
[19:48] Patrick Sammon: I don't mash up when I have a blackout when even though I kind of Matt was on the pod.
[19:54] Andrew: And he said this like a few times, I think where he's like, cough syrup was like, kind of always the one that I wanted to win.
[20:02] Patrick Sammon: And now like, I don't care as much about it winning. Just because so many years have gone by.
[20:07] Andrew: And like, I don't know, like opinions can change over time.
[20:11] Patrick Sammon: For Adele mashup. I'm kind of like, I don't know if I want that to be the winner.
[20:17] Andrew: Like I was always saying that for years.
[20:20] Patrick Sammon: And I'm like, I hope it goes far. But I don't right now in this moment, what do you want to be the winner?
[20:25] Andrew: Um, I don't know. And I mean that with, like, sincerity, like, I really, I don't think I have one that I'm gunning for.
[20:30] Patrick Sammon: And that's why I like this podcast, and why I kind of still keep up with it.
[20:35] Andrew: Because I don't know, I feel like if I had one that I was like, so, like, really passionate about, and then it lost, I feel like part of me would be like, I don't want to keep listening.
[20:40] Patrick Sammon: I think about like, all those people that like, I probably like lost over the years that like, I will just never know who stopped listening because their favorite song got eliminated, you know, which is saying,
[20:48] Andrew: like, there are plenty of people who I think do listen, because you have gleeks on, and they'll say, like, my favorite one died in round two, or whatever.
[20:56] Patrick Sammon: And obviously, they're still listening and engaging.
[21:00] Andrew: So I'm not at all saying that like, you can't have your favorite have been dead and still listen.
[21:06] Patrick Sammon: But I think for me, maybe I'm not like ever wracking my brain to think like, what do I really, really, really want to win?
[21:11] Andrew: Because I feel like, for me, at least, that's gonna take me out of the exercise a little bit.
[21:18] Patrick Sammon: So yeah, I don't know. I think I'm I think I remain open.
[21:24] Andrew: I think what I care more about and what I've always, I think, brought to my episodes is like, if I think that one goes way too early, I'm going to be pissed about it.
[21:30] Patrick Sammon: And I'm going to yell about it and scream.
[21:35] Andrew: But like, none of the ones that like, I've lost that I wanted to stay are ones where I'm like, that should have like, won the Glacketter gone really far.
[21:39] Patrick Sammon: So I do want the top four, the top eight, the top 16, whatever to be like, really, like the best songs.
[21:45] Andrew: And if there's like ones that sneak in there, that suck. I'm gonna be annoyed.
[21:52] Patrick Sammon: But yeah, I don't know which one I want to win. But I think the easy answer for me used to be a Dell mashup.
[21:59] Andrew: And I think like, over the years, we've just talked about it so much or whatever, where I'm like, am I kind of done like with that one?
[22:03] Patrick Sammon: I don't know. I've been like, on like a don't stop believing.
[22:09] Andrew: Like, yes.
[22:11] Patrick Sammon: Okay, I don't know what it is.
[22:15] Andrew: Sorry. This is one other note I had. Didn't someone call in and like, accuse me of like, saying shit about don't stop believing or something?
[22:22] Patrick Sammon: And it was in the chat right now, and that was not me.
[22:26] Andrew: That was what Charlie said.
[22:31] Patrick Sammon: It was like, these things and I was listening back and I'm like, that was not me.
[22:35] Andrew: So wait, okay. Drew, I love that you're both here right now.
[22:41] Patrick Sammon: Um, okay, no, but I really sorry.
[22:48] Patrick Sammon: I've been really in my don't stop believing bag lately. I don't there's something when I when I started the project, I was like, okay, that feels like a little bit like easy, but possible, but then as the project that it could win.
[23:05] Patrick Sammon: And then as the project continued, I was like, there's no way because we have all these other ones that we need to kind of deal with.
[23:11] Andrew: That can't win against don't stop believing.
[23:14] Patrick Sammon: But now I'm like in a don't stop believing mood.
[23:16] Patrick Sammon: I'm like, I really understand the vision now.
[23:24] Andrew: Yeah, well, also, I, I know this comes up all the time. But like, genuinely, when we're in the next round of the round after that, and things like that, like, we are going to evolve continuously, like what we think the like, qualifications of like the winner of the black, it should be.
[23:40] Patrick Sammon: So, like, I think I personally, and how I feel about don't stop believing is like, I want to kind of retire the like attitude that it's glee for dummies, because I think that was like a really fun, clever way to kind of like, put that song in its place.
[23:58] Andrew: But yeah, I'm kind of I'm pretty open to it.
[24:02] Patrick Sammon: And I feel like I'm open to it now.
[24:07] Andrew: I'm over glee for dummies.
[24:10] Patrick Sammon: But like, yeah, but but also, I brought this up in a previous episode that like Eduardo is happy that and I'm telling you lost to hand in my pocket.
[24:21] Andrew: I feel the earth move that he was like, like, is that like is and I'm telling you going to win because of the nostalgia of it all.
[24:27] Patrick Sammon: And he was like, I'm pleasantly surprised because this song went through, which I was really happy to hear because I'm like, I, someone that like, cares about like, what people are saying.
[24:32] Andrew: I'm like, I'm happy that, oh, no, that was able to come out of that.
[24:37] Patrick Sammon: Um, so that's great.
[24:41] Andrew: I felt the same way.
[24:43] Patrick Sammon: Like, I was actually, in a sense, happy that it didn't go through because it was like, this is still really interesting.
[24:50] Andrew: Like, I think that like, two years ago, I think it would have been different.
[24:55] Patrick Sammon: But now like, we really just have like done so many episodes, we've like talked about a lot of these songs.
[25:02] Andrew: And like, we've kind of created our own, like some culture about like talking about Glee through this podcast.
[25:05] Patrick Sammon: And so it is really fun to see how it evolves.
[25:11] Andrew: And I mean that, like very genuinely.
[25:15] Patrick Sammon: So I do think that, yeah, it'll just be different.
[25:19] Andrew: And I think someone in the chat said that they're kind of just like along for the ride now.
[25:24] Patrick Sammon: Yeah, that's how I am too. It's like, I don't know if I'm really gunning for any.
[25:30] Andrew: But if there's a matchup that I feel we made the wrong choice about, like, I will make my opinion known.
[25:36] Patrick Sammon: Loudly.
[25:40] Andrew: Yeah.
[25:41] Patrick Sammon: Eduardo, low-key, we're making an echo chamber for ourselves for these opinions, but I love it.
[25:49] Patrick Sammon: But also we're not. Andrew and I just said we're done with Glee for Dummies.
[25:53] Andrew: That's been an opinion that's long been shared.
[25:56] Patrick Sammon: And we killed it. If anyone comes on the pod and says that, we're gonna be like, you didn't listen to Patrick and Andrew's livestream episode.
[26:04] Andrew: Well, you're letting us know who you are.
[26:12] Patrick Sammon: Do you have anything final that you need to say before we bring in our first Gleek?
[26:17] Andrew: Um, I don't think so. I'm excited to talk to the Gleeks.
[26:22] Patrick Sammon: I think neither of them have been on before. So this is really exciting.
[26:29] Andrew: Debuts.
[26:31] Patrick Sammon: Debuts.
[26:34] Andrew: Noah, hello.
[26:36] Noah: Hi.
[26:39] Andrew: Hi, Noah. Can I help you by saying that I know that you took a gummy before this recording?
[26:45] Noah: Wow, that's kind of crazy. I don't have a proof.
[26:49] Noah: That was before the recording, yeah.
[26:53] Andrew: That's true.
[26:55] Noah: I don't have a recording.
[26:57] Andrew: Possibly.
[27:01] Noah: Um, Noah, you have been a long-standing glistener, yes?
[27:05] Noah: Oh, yeah.
[27:08] Andrew: Since when?
[27:10] Noah: Back, it's, I think it was around when Kevin and Jenna had you on the first time.
[27:15] Andrew: Uh-huh.
[27:17] Noah: I listened to their episode and then went back and binged everything before the end of round two.
[27:22] Andrew: I'm always excited to get a DM or a response to a story or anything from you, Noah. So thank you for going on this ride with us.
[27:30] Noah: Um, Noah, do you have glack at grievances?
[27:34] Noah: As with anybody, of course, there's been some, like, interesting choices made, but most of round four so far, I agree with.
[27:41] Noah: I think the only one I'm sad about is, it's not right, but it's okay.
[27:46] Andrew: Okay.
[27:48] Noah: But also, I just watched Swan Song today.
[27:51] Andrew: And you're seeing the vision was being alive.
[27:54] Noah: Yeah, it makes sense.
[27:56] Patrick Sammon: And Ellis is there. So keep our queen.
[28:01] Noah: Keep our queen!
[28:03] Patrick Sammon: See, there's a good differentiation between the Gleeks that, like, there are some Gleeks that will never know who Ellis is, and they will just watch Glee and just go through being alive, and they'll see Ellis just in the frame, no context of who she is.
[28:14] Noah: But Noah, you, you, you're a Gleek that gets it.
[28:17] Noah: Oh, absolutely.
[28:19] Andrew: Yeah.
[28:21] Noah: I see somebody from Glee Project, we're locking in.
[28:24] Patrick Sammon: There she is.
[28:26] Noah: Yeah. So, okay. So you're, you're okay with that decision?
[28:30] Noah: I'm okay with everything that's gone on with this round so far, specifically last week, Teenage Dream, getting the boot.
[28:36] Patrick Sammon: Season four version.
[28:39] Noah: Season four, horrible version.
[28:41] Andrew: Yeah.
[28:43] Noah: It's just, oh my god. Get that the hell away.
[28:46] Patrick Sammon: Thank you, god.
[28:48] Noah: Eduardo is making a call for your mic to be cut.
[28:51] Andrew: How do you respond?
[28:53] Noah: I think, um, we can see what's moving on to the next round, and that just says enough.
[28:59] Patrick Sammon: I mean, it was Dancing Queen, which was just on the live stream.
[29:02] Noah: It's now Funeral, but it was just Dancing Queen.
[29:06] Andrew: We missed it.
[29:08] Noah: Yeah, yeah.
[29:10] Noah: Oh, because I was, uh, watching Born This Way earlier today.
[29:14] Andrew: That makes sense.
[29:16] Noah: Okay, the time, the way that time works.
[29:19] Andrew: Um, okay, wait, so Noah, do you have any other grievances beyond this round?
[29:24] Noah: I think a lot of my favorite songs that were left died last round, which was like, one after the other.
[29:30] Andrew: It was like, what?
[29:32] Noah: Like, what comes to mind?
[29:34] Noah: Love Shack is my favorite Glee cover, period.
[29:38] Andrew: Really?
[29:40] Noah: Love, Love Shack.
[29:42] Andrew: So good.
[29:44] Noah: But it was against Landslide, so.
[29:46] Andrew: So it had to die. Let's be honest.
[29:49] Noah: It died.
[29:50] Andrew: But what do you, wait, help me see the vision with Love Shack, because I like it.
[29:54] Noah: I think it's really, really sweet.
[29:57] Andrew: You don't see the vision?
[30:00] Noah: I, well, I think, first of all, it's way better than the original.
[30:04] Andrew: Yeah.
[30:06] Noah: I think that does enough right there.
[30:09] Noah: Okay. But also, just the way, like, it's like, the Sugar Shack, Lane is back.
[30:14] Andrew: It's just like, everybody's so happy.
[30:17] Noah: Lane is back from a one-episode hiatus.
[30:20] Andrew: Exactly. We missed him so much.
[30:23] Noah: Back from the dead.
[30:25] Andrew: Yeah.
[30:01] Andrew: I just love that song, that's it.
[30:03] Patrick Sammon: So that died, and then Bitches Back Dress You Up died, which also made sense, because it was against Madonna mashup, which was just phenomenal.
[30:12] Noah: I would've voted for Dress You Up, my love. What can I say?
[30:16] Cassidy: I would've as well.
[30:19] Andrew: Maybe you did. I don't think it was unanimous.
[30:22] Noah: I don't know.
[30:28] Andrew: But no, it's like your favorites are gone, but you also would've voted for the other things.
[30:40] Patrick Sammon: That was my episode. Interesting.
[30:44] Andrew: Just to have my position.
[30:48] Patrick Sammon: That's right.
[30:52] Andrew: Anyway, Noah.
[30:54] Cassidy: Andrew, Noah said ABC should've beaten Shake It Out.
[30:59] Andrew: Let me check. I think I voted for ABC.
[31:02] Noah: Yeah, I did vote for ABC.
[31:05] Andrew: This could be a good night.
[31:07] Cassidy: Okay, whatever. I don't know if I'm vibing with this trio right now. I'm kind of nervous now.
[31:12] Noah: Thank you so much for saying that, Noah, because I think that ABC has paid dust, and especially from Jenna herself.
[31:18] Cassidy: She exactly.
[31:19] Noah: She will never understand.
[31:22] Cassidy: She needs to listen to it again.
[31:24] Noah: Just listen from an outside perspective. Oh my god, what she does with that song is so special.
[31:32] Cassidy: She's so joyous.
[31:34] Noah: It's really, really sweet.
[31:36] Cassidy: Yeah, my favorites are dead, but we're still here. There's still some good ones.
[31:40] Andrew: What are you hoping to see?
[31:44] Noah: Quinn. Anything Quinn.
[31:46] Cassidy: Anything season six.
[31:47] Noah: I do care about this trio now.
[31:49] Cassidy: I want to protect season six, and I want to protect Quinn.
[31:53] Noah: Quinn has a lot of solos in this round still. I think that she fared the most well going into this round.
[32:01] Cassidy: She maintained the majority of her solos.
[32:05] Noah: I think a couple of them are going to die, if I'm being honest.
[32:09] Cassidy: I want to know which ones, because I don't want to.
[32:12] Noah: But I think she'll have one or two.
[32:14] Cassidy: To be honest, I don't really know if any of her solos are going to make it past this round, and I think that's okay with me.
[32:20] Noah: There's one.
[32:22] Cassidy: You don't think any of them?
[32:24] Noah: I could see it. She's kind of got an easy break.
[32:28] Cassidy: She literally has...
[32:31] Noah: Her best solo got killed by a fucking Rory solo, so maybe that's why I'm in a bad mood.
[32:37] Cassidy: Her best solo is Come See About Me.
[32:39] Noah: Yes!
[32:41] Cassidy: I messaged you, Andrew, about that competition, because I said you were so right.
[32:46] Noah: Voting for Take Care of Yourself.
[32:48] Cassidy: Noah, thank you so much.
[32:50] Andrew: Okay.
[32:52] Patrick Sammon: We literally have...
[32:54] Noah: Patrick, you messaged in the You and I and Charlie group chat that we haven't done going through all of Quinn's solos.
[33:02] Cassidy: We haven't done this in a while. We need to do that.
[33:06] Patrick Sammon: Okay.
[33:07] Noah: Yes. Okay, so I say a little prayer. We still have a round.
[33:11] Cassidy: That's her best solo.
[33:13] Noah: That's also her best solo.
[33:15] Cassidy: That's also her best. We're just going to say that after every single solo.
[33:19] Noah: No, but those two are our best.
[33:21] Cassidy: That can die. I'm kind of over that one.
[33:25] Noah: Oh, Papa Don't Preach is done. Papa Don't Preach died in round one. We're okay with that?
[33:30] Cassidy: Papa Don't Preach should have... Because it lost to him or a solo, I think, right?
[33:34] Noah: It did. It lost to Someday We'll Be Together.
[33:37] Cassidy: Yeah. Papa Don't Preach.
[33:39] Noah: I'm keeping my Quolo, as I say.
[33:42] Cassidy: I'm keeping my Quolo. And then we have Never Can Say Goodbye, which is still around, and Come See About Me, which is obviously dead.
[33:50] Noah: Okay. Wait, all of those are good, except for the pregnancy one. I don't like that one. I'm done.
[33:56] Cassidy: I think that, honestly, the only canon event for Quolo going home this round is It's a Man's Man's Man's World.
[34:05] Noah: I think that's the one that is going home.
[34:09] Cassidy: But I think we can keep the other three.
[34:12] Noah: I think we can. I take back what I said earlier.
[34:15] Cassidy: Okay. So we're manifesting that.
[34:18] Noah: A Man's Man's Man's World is not going to make it through, unless it gets one of the other...
[34:23] Cassidy: Because there's a few sneaks in round four that just should not be here.
[34:27] Noah: Name them.
[34:29] Cassidy: Can I say, as a Quinn spam, that A Man's Man's Man's World is absolutely a sneak, and it has been a sneak.
[34:35] Noah: Multiple rounds, and I definitely voted it through at least once.
[34:40] Cassidy: I think that... No, I think it was egregious the last time that it was voted through. Let me see. What was it against?
[34:48] Noah: Oh, Hell to the No. It won against Hell to the No.
[34:52] Cassidy: I feel like Hell to the No should have won.
[34:55] Noah: Yeah.
[34:57] Cassidy: Yeah. So, anyway. Are we ready to see what our first song is?
[35:04] Andrew: Yes! Oh my god, it's Noah's first Glacapole!
[35:11] Noah: We didn't mention this, not once. It's later in the series. Where is she?
[35:17] Cassidy: I think it's actually he. He pronouns.
[35:20] Noah: Oh, he.
[35:23] Cassidy: But still, that's not a bad thing.
[35:26] Noah: Is it nasty for the nation?
[35:28] Cassidy: It is nasty for the nation.
[35:30] Andrew: Play it. Play it.
[35:33] Noah: I like this one.
[35:35] Andrew: Noah, I want to throw it to you, but first, I want to ask Patrick something.
[35:41] Patrick Sammon: Patrick, you mentioned that we didn't bring up the One Way or Another mashup in conversation when talking about mashups.
[35:51] Noah: No one even brought this one up.
[35:54] Patrick Sammon: Yeah. I could see why. But Noah, take it away!
[36:01] Noah: What?
[36:03] Patrick Sammon: You don't like this one?
[36:05] Noah: I do, but I don't think it's... I feel pretty neutral about it, I guess.
[36:14] Patrick Sammon: There are lots of good things, and there aren't necessarily bad things, but it just doesn't really come into the glee canon in my mind.
[36:21] Noah: It's just something that they did, and I always kind of forget about it, and then I watch it, and I'm happy. But I can see why people forget about bringing that up in conversation about mashups.
[36:36] Cassidy: I also got canceled in the chat, so...
[36:39] Noah: Yeah. Go ahead, Noah.
[36:43] Noah: If I was looking at the songs to manifest, this was high up there.
[36:49] Noah: This entered my rotation maybe a year ago, but since then, it's been consistent.
[36:57] Noah: What they did to Jake's character is here and there, but this song, they cooked on this.
[37:05] Noah: I almost feel like one of the notes that I wrote down is this made the entire Jarly plotline worth it.
[37:15] Noah: If it ends with this, because we really don't get too much beyond this with them after this song.
[37:25] Noah: But if it ends with this, it made the entire thing worth it. You know what I mean? It's really perfect.
[37:32] Noah: As much as I hate Marley, she was the catalyst for so many good performances. This included.
[37:38] Cassidy: Including this one.
[37:40] Cassidy: Why do you hate Marley?
[37:44] Noah: I think she's so whiny and flat.
[37:50] Cassidy: But I love Melissa. Melissa, she did the damn thing.
[37:54] Noah: Melissa can do no wrong.
[37:56] Cassidy: I'm not a huge fan of Marley, but I like her mom, so without her, there's no Millie.
[38:00] Noah: There's no Marley's mom.
[38:03] Cassidy: There's no Millie Rose.
[38:05] Noah: Marley just feels out of the universe.
[38:10] Cassidy: She kind of does feel like what I've seen of Degrassi, so maybe please correct me if I'm wrong.
[38:19] Noah: She feels more coded for that type of show rather than Glee.
[38:26] Patrick Sammon: Do you know what I'm saying, Patrick?
[38:28] Patrick Sammon: Yeah, I mean, she could be a side character that no one really cares about. And that's essentially what Glee kind of did to her, even though they tried to make her the main girl for a bit.
[38:38] Noah: I think that I don't have much to say about that opinion, because you don't know much about Degrassi.
[38:44] Cassidy: Get out of here with that.
[38:46] Noah: I knew that I stepped in it when I pronounced it like that.
[38:49] Cassidy: Yeah, you did.
[38:51] Noah: Yeah, you did.
[38:53] Patrick Sammon: I like a lot of what I'm seeing in the chat, though, because I think it's true. Melissa is such a great performer, even if the character of Marley is a bit bland.
[39:00] Noah: Marley is a little boring, but Melissa is lovely.
[39:02] Cassidy: But then Drew said Marley is like an actual high school teen. And I think that's why I do like her, because it's kind of like, in a sense, refreshing that there's a character who is normal and insecure.
[39:17] Noah: And I like to sing, and all these people are kind of crazy. She's kind of like the straight man that sometimes is welcome.
[39:25] Cassidy: Yeah, necessary.
[39:27] Noah: I was just watching Role You Were Born to Play, and I love that scene where Sue comes into the bathroom and has all of these nicknames lined up for unique, but then gets to Marley and is like,
[39:45] Noah: I actually don't know how to insult you.
[39:49] Noah: I don't have anything to say about you.
[39:52] Cassidy: Baby-faced, beautiful girl.
[39:56] Noah: Blue-eyed, beautiful girl.
[40:00] Cassidy: Yeah.
[40:02] Noah: But I love Nasty Rhythm Nation.
[40:06] Cassidy: It's really, really good.
[40:08] Noah: And I'm never clicking next when it comes up on Chubble.
[40:12] Cassidy: It's always in the rotation.
[40:15] Patrick Sammon: Oh, absolutely.
[40:17] Noah: Okay, so I want to like, going back to my comment before, because I didn't have my fully formed thought yet.
[40:24] Cassidy: Patrick, have a fully formed thought challenge.
[40:26] Patrick Sammon: Failed.
[40:27] Noah: I think that like, truthfully, it's like where this episode is, where I just like kind of like lose interest.
[40:39] Noah: And it's such a good number for such like a kind of boring and crappy plot line that I don't care about.
[40:46] Noah: And when we're talking about the best songs on Glee, and a lot of people bring up like the context matters. I think for this one, like the context kind of takes me out of it.
[40:52] Noah: Because I'm like, okay, this is like an episode that I don't really care for. A part of Glee that's like harder to get through.
[41:00] Noah: And then I just kind of get annoyed. Because I see this and it's so good. And the performances are amazing. And I'm kind of just like, but the rest of the show right now kind of sucks.
[41:12] Noah: And like, why is it so hard to like write a good TV show when we have this like amazing number in there? So I think I kind of get in my head about it.
[41:21] Noah: I don't really like this, like stretch, like early season five is like not one that I revisit often.
[41:28] Patrick Sammon: But Jacob Artist deserves more.
[41:32] Noah: And Brie deserves more.
[41:34] Cassidy: And I say that intentionally, because I think Jacob Artist, where is he in the current cultural zeitgeist? He should be the President of the United States.
[41:43] Noah: And then Brie, I just think she should have been on the show more.
[41:46] Cassidy: I don't know who's political views. But I think yeah, President. President seems right.
[41:50] Noah: Brie? Miss her so bad.
[41:54] Cassidy: Where did she go?
[41:56] Noah: She was there for two minutes and she got pregnant and then left.
[41:59] Cassidy: She got pregnant?
[42:01] Noah: She pulled a Terry.
[42:03] Cassidy: No, she was real pregnant.
[42:05] Noah: Wait, was she actually?
[42:07] Noah: No, she wasn't actually pregnant. It was false.
[42:09] Cassidy: She got her period because I guess she was late.
[42:12] Noah: Oh. Oh, yeah.
[42:13] Cassidy: Yeah.
[42:15] Noah: OK, so I don't revisit those episodes often. I do just for the music, because the music in this episode is so good.
[42:21] Cassidy: Other than the Beatles, skip the Beatles.
[42:23] Noah: Then we get really good songs.
[42:25] Cassidy: But the plot is.
[42:27] Noah: You just got to get past those Beatles episodes.
[42:29] Cassidy: Yeah.
[42:31] Noah: I do like that. There's a little bit of a reference back to another Janet Jackson song that the Glee cast covered.
[42:39] Cassidy: My last name is Control.
[42:41] Noah: Where's Control?
[42:43] Cassidy: Sang in season three.
[42:45] Noah: Sectionals.
[42:47] Cassidy: Who sang the first part of that song?
[42:49] Noah: Can you remind me?
[42:51] Cassidy: Her name.
[42:53] Noah: I don't expect you to know this, actually.
[42:55] Cassidy: Her name is Diana.
[42:57] Noah: Oh, so beautiful.
[42:59] Cassidy: You would love her.
[43:01] Noah: I would love her. I would love to meet her one day.
[43:03] Patrick Sammon: Drew said this in the chat earlier. I'm kind of coming for Drew today because he came for me. But I'm always just commenting about how good his observation was.
[43:11] Patrick Sammon: He said something about how he wasn't a fan of the red Cheerios uniforms. And I also wrote that down.
[43:17] Cassidy: What's going on?
[43:21] Patrick Sammon: Why did they randomly change the Cheerios uniforms for this number?
[43:25] Noah: Is it a reference to something?
[43:27] Patrick Sammon: No, but there are.
[43:29] Noah: I don't think it's a reference to anything.
[43:31] Patrick Sammon: I wrote down Cheerios uniform as in they should change to these ones because the other ones.
[43:35] Noah: It reminds me too much of Santana's fake college cheerleading squad uniform.
[43:41] Cassidy: Yeah, or the alumni one.
[43:43] Noah: Then I said, this is really good, but I just don't care about the plot.
[43:49] Cassidy: And that's minus points for me.
[43:51] Noah: But it's really good. I don't want to turn my nose up at it. I enjoy it a lot.
[43:57] Cassidy: I don't know if I stream this one a lot, but I see why people like it.
[44:01] Noah: It's just not one that comes to mind when I think my favorite Glee songs.
[44:06] Cassidy: But I enjoyed watching the performance.
[44:08] Noah: Dare I say, can we say definitively maybe top three or five season five numbers?
[44:16] Patrick Sammon: Oh, absolutely.
[44:18] Noah: Right? I think it's up there for sure.
[44:21] Cassidy: Top five.
[44:23] Patrick Sammon: What are the rivals?
[44:25] Noah: Gloria.
[44:27] Cassidy: Gloria, yeah.
[44:29] Noah: Yesterday, but we killed that for some reason.
[44:32] Cassidy: Not yesterday.
[44:34] Noah: Specifically.
[44:36] Cassidy: Actually, not that.
[44:38] Noah: I honestly can't think of many others.
[44:41] Cassidy: I know I can't.
[44:43] Noah: What else is in season five?
[44:46] Cassidy: Oh, the Fox.
[44:48] Patrick Sammon: I'm sorry, but the Fox.
[44:50] Noah: I love the Fox.
[44:52] Cassidy: Eduardo is weirdly saying I saw her standing there.
[44:55] Patrick Sammon: Sorry, Eduardo, but you lost me.
[44:58] Noah: I feel like season five doesn't have a lot of...
[45:01] Cassidy: Oh, more than a feeling.
[45:03] Noah: More than the nationals numbers.
[45:05] Cassidy: Those are good.
[45:07] Noah: Not America.
[45:09] Cassidy: America's not the best one.
[45:11] Noah: Oh, absolutely.
[45:13] Cassidy: Tell me what you're seeing with America.
[45:16] Noah: I don't know. Maybe it's because I just like that song from my childhood. So I have the nostalgia factor.
[45:21] Cassidy: That could be it.
[45:23] Noah: But it's also unique and unique doesn't sing enough after winning the Glee Project.
[45:28] Cassidy: We didn't get enough unique.
[45:30] Noah: I'll take America.
[45:31] Cassidy: Anything else? Do we have anything else to say about that song?
[45:35] Noah: The chat was not a fan of my take.
[45:38] Cassidy: I just think it was...
[45:41] Noah: It's just not one that comes to mind for me.
[45:45] Cassidy: But no hate toward it.
[45:47] Noah: It's really, really, really good.
[45:49] Cassidy: It's just not one of my favorites.
[45:51] Noah: It could be the Dark Horse.
[45:53] Cassidy: I think it could win against whatever is getting pulled.
[45:56] Noah: I'm very open.
[45:58] Cassidy: Let's see.
[45:59] Noah: It's kind of just like on the same playing field.
[46:03] Cassidy: Season 2 number.
[46:08] Noah: Is it a competition number?
[46:11] Cassidy: It is not.
[46:13] Noah: On the same plane?
[46:15] Cassidy: Here it is. Do you see what it is?
[46:17] Noah: Sweet Transvestite.
[46:19] Cassidy: It is Sweet Transvestite. Here we go.
[46:21] Noah: And I have beef with Sweet Transvestite.
[46:25] Cassidy: That was pretty good.
[46:26] Noah: Noah, do you want to start us off in the discourse?
[46:29] Noah: I could not stop looking at Rachel the entire time.
[46:33] Noah: She was just giving the performance.
[46:35] Noah: Every time I watch, I try to look for something different.
[46:39] Noah: That time, it was Rachel for me.
[46:41] Cassidy: What did you find while looking at her?
[46:44] Noah: She's facing the entire time.
[46:49] Noah: We're looking at Mercedes now. Rachel's over here in the corner.
[46:53] Noah: She knows she's in it.
[46:55] Noah: It was just perfect.
[46:57] Noah: She's playing up like Janet.
[46:59] Noah: She's playing the role constantly.
[47:02] Noah: Even in rehearsal, she's like, I'm fully in.
[47:06] Cassidy: As she would be.
[47:08] Patrick Sammon: I love.
[47:10] Patrick Sammon: What do you think about Sweet Transvestite?
[47:12] Patrick Sammon: This is your first time seeing it.
[47:14] Patrick Sammon: It is.
[47:16] Patrick Sammon: It killed Love Song last round with Skripper Scream.
[47:19] Noah: Oh, it killed Love Song.
[47:21] Patrick Sammon: It killed Love Song.
[47:23] Noah: Yes.
[47:25] Patrick Sammon: I'd even look at the glacier for that.
[47:27] Patrick Sammon: I was like, I know who this. And I know who killed it.
[47:29] Noah: Yeah.
[47:31] Patrick Sammon: And OK, but yeah, I haven't seen that on the podcast yet. It's really good.
[47:42] Patrick Sammon: I see what you mean where it's like kind of a playing field because it's kind of like both of those characters really in their bag.
[47:49] Noah: Like the last one we pulled was Jake really being able to show off his dancing, show off his like performance ability.
[47:58] Patrick Sammon: And it was like kind of a big number in a time of glee when like we were like kind of slogging through it.
[48:05] Noah: And that was just like an energy bomb.
[48:07] Cassidy: Yeah.
[48:08] Patrick Sammon: And this one is Sweet Transvestite is like Amber Riley kind of getting to, I think, show some more of her like acting and kind of it's not just like her park and barking, but like it's kind of her playing a character, which is very fun.
[48:25] Noah: Fun. Yeah.
[48:27] Cassidy: She's doing a really great job.
[48:28] Patrick Sammon: The person who I was paying attention to was Jenna and her blue bob.
[48:34] Noah: What was she doing?
[48:36] Patrick Sammon: She just had blue hair and I was very into it.
[48:39] Noah: You need to ask Jenna.
[48:41] Noah: Text Jenna and be like, do you have your Rocky Horror hair?
[48:44] Cassidy: Do you think she has every single piece of clothing?
[48:49] Noah: She was like, where's my Rocky Horror hair?
[48:51] Cassidy: Where's my Rocky Horror hair?
[48:53] Noah: I forgot my Rocky Horror wig!
[48:54] Cassidy: Yeah.
[48:56] Noah: But yeah, that's my random thing.
[48:59] Noah: But I agree with Noah that Rachel is fun.
[49:03] Patrick Sammon: And I think that, like, I do have a soft spot, I think, for when they stage a musical number really well, like meta, they're in the musical. Like, that's very, very fun.
[49:16] Noah: I don't really know where I'm going to go for this one, to be honest.
[49:20] Noah: I like both of them quite a bit.
[49:21] Cassidy: I feel a similar way.
[49:23] Noah: I love what you said about Yod. It's both of these characters in their bag, Mercedes and Jake.
[49:31] Noah: And I think that with this one in particular, it feels, when I think about specifically early season two Mercedes stuff, I think immediately of the Tot storyline, which I have a bad taste in my mouth about.
[49:47] Noah: But I completely cross over this, that I'm like, they did attempt at, and successfully, giving Mercedes something fun to chew on.
[49:59] Noah: That it's like, yeah, Mercedes would want this meaty role, that she would want the show stopping number, that she does something so fun with the rendition of it, too.
[50:13] Cassidy: And I think that, like, whereas, like, And I'm Telling You feels like a very, like, obvious Mer-solo, that we've already discussed, like, in kind of execution, it doesn't feel as earned.
[50:30] Noah: This feels like earned, that it's like, Mercedes is not the typical Frankenfurter. But like, she does something so special with this.
[50:41] Cassidy: And I think that's what Glee does so masterfully when done well, that it's like giving a song or like a storyline. It's like, I think Glee is like built on like juxtaposition, that like a character like Becky is the school's biggest bitch, you know what I mean? That it's like, that is what Glee is.
[51:05] Noah: And that like Mercedes can play Frankenfurter and like blow it out of the park. And like, it's like, it's like, what you expect out of this character is not necessarily what you get. But it's better, you know.
[51:18] Cassidy: So I really, I really, really love this for what it represents.
[51:24] Noah: And also, hey, on a minor note, we got the Troubletone Soft launch here. They tested something out with Mercedes with Brittany and Santana backup.
[51:30] Cassidy: And they were like, what did they say? Like, bite, bite, more, night, night.
[51:42] Noah: Yeah.
[51:43] Cassidy: So I really, really love this. It's really special.
[51:46] Noah: But again, I don't know between these two. These are my favorite types of competitions, to be honest, where it's like, neither of these are winner of the Glackett to me. But like, I like both of them a lot.
[51:56] Cassidy: And they both like, there's a lot to say about both of them.
[52:03] Noah: And I think they both deserve to be here. And it's not like immediately obvious to me which one should go through.
[52:09] Cassidy: Yeah.
[52:10] Noah: They have the potential to go far. I think.
[52:13] Patrick Sammon: I think with Sweet Transvestite, it's really serviced by the fact that there are other more solos from season two are all kind of what Amber would do well.
[52:24] Noah: Yeah.
[52:25] Patrick Sammon: She's not going to go out there and sing Sweet Transvestite to a crowd of people. She's going to go out there and sing in a way or something, you know.
[52:33] Noah: So I think it was serviced because we hadn't really seen this from her yet.
[52:36] Cassidy: And now we know she can do musical theater.
[52:39] Noah: I love that you said that. That it's like that entirely.
[52:43] Noah: That if like you're going to an Amber Riley concert, which Patrick you have, you know, it's like you're expecting to see these songs. But wouldn't it be so fun to see in combination with like Ain't No Way and I'm Telling You or whatever that you see Sweet Transvestite. Like that's so special.
[53:00] Cassidy: What's the song that Alyssa Lou did her like skating to?
[53:05] Noah: Like about the cake?
[53:06] Patrick Sammon: Oh, MacArthur Park.
[53:08] Noah: Yeah. Amber Riley did that. And I thought that was like kind of like an interesting example of like, I guess like Amber Riley singing a Donna Summer song isn't like crazy. But like that one's kind of like a little bit more like it's not like the classic Mercedes song.
[53:17] Cassidy: And I love that.
[53:25] Noah: What other Mercedes songs are kind of like off kilter that aren't like Dreamgirls or Aretha or like what are the ones that like aren't?
[53:37] Patrick Sammon: I Want to Know What Love Is.
[53:38] Noah: I Want to Know What Love Is.
[53:39] Cassidy: Classic Rock.
[53:42] Noah: One of her better, I think.
[53:44] Cassidy: Can I say something kind of crazy?
[53:47] Noah: What?
[53:51] Cassidy: Stereo Hearts.
[53:58] Noah: Wait, why am I completely blanking on Stereo Hearts is by?
[54:03] Cassidy: Gym Class Heroes.
[54:04] Noah: Thank you so much.
[54:08] Cassidy: Summer Nights.
[54:09] Noah: Chris said in the chat said Summer Nights. I thought she did a great job with that one.
[54:14] Noah: And that's in this round.
[54:15] Cassidy: I mean, Amber has a lot of really good songs and she's great. And that's what's making this competition tough.
[54:23] Noah: I think I know my vote.
[54:28] Cassidy: Anybody else?
[54:30] Noah: I think so.
[54:31] Cassidy: Can the Gleeks in the chat like what are you guys feeling?
[54:34] Noah: What are you guys feeling?
[54:35] Cassidy: I think my vote's kind of up for.
[54:40] Noah: Does anyone feel really strong in the chat?
[54:42] Cassidy: Yeah.
[54:43] Noah: Say out loud. What are you saying?
[54:46] Cassidy: Okay. Elijah said mashup.
[54:51] Noah: Okay.
[54:52] Cassidy: Everyone's saying Nasty Rhythm Nation.
[54:54] Noah: Okay.
[54:55] Cassidy: Wow.
[54:57] Noah: I love both but I have to say nasty.
[55:00] Cassidy: Wow.
[55:01] Noah: Okay.
[55:02] Cassidy: I think I know my vote as well.
[55:07] Noah: Okay.
[55:08] Cassidy: I'm going to say Sweet Transvestite because of the juxtaposition of it all.
[55:14] Noah: But I think that it encapsulates Glee.
[55:18] Patrick Sammon: What are you saying?
[55:22] Patrick Sammon: I'm really going back and forth still because I feel like I like Sweet Transvestite more.
[55:34] Patrick Sammon: But I do think I'm going to give my vote to the mashup because I think it's a little.
[55:45] Patrick Sammon: I think it'd be a shame if we were even saying what are the best songs in season five and we couldn't name any more than that.
[55:56] Patrick Sammon: And it's a good Jake performance. And it was really fun to watch.
[56:01] Noah: And you know what? Sweet Transvestite beat a lot of songs. So maybe that's my revenge.
[56:07] Cassidy: I just thought of that too.
[56:08] Patrick Sammon: Maybe that makes me feel a little bit better.
[56:10] Noah: So I think it's going to be Noah.
[56:12] Cassidy: Our Gleek of the Week has to decide between the two of us.
[56:15] Noah: Is this the last Jake member?
[56:19] Cassidy: I would be.
[56:20] Noah: Oh, Jake is featured on Wide Awake.
[56:24] Cassidy: Oh, that's true.
[56:25] Noah: But this is definitely the last Jake centric.
[56:30] Cassidy: See, that's what makes it hard because this is so good. And then Sweet Transvestite is like top three more solos.
[56:36] Noah: So it's like I know we have more Mercedes coming.
[56:40] Cassidy: They're just not as good as what I know she can do.
[56:44] Noah: So it's really difficult.
[56:46] Cassidy: I think based on my history, I'm going to go with Nasty Rhythm Nation.
[56:54] Noah: Really?
[56:55] Cassidy: I think I have to.
[57:00] Noah: Wow.
[57:01] Cassidy: Okay.
[57:02] Noah: Mercedes can survive.
[57:03] Cassidy: She'll be fine.
[57:04] Noah: I will survive.
[57:06] Cassidy: Survivor.
[57:07] Noah: Wow.
[57:09] Cassidy: I did not see that coming.
[57:14] Noah: Is that not to completely out you potentially, Noah, but you're a gay guy.
[57:15] Noah: Oh, absolutely.
[57:16] Noah: Yeah.
[57:18] Noah: I'm a Gleek.
[57:20] Noah: I'm a Gleek.
[57:21] Cassidy: Is it Jacob Artis of it all that it's kind of swaying the decision or no?
[57:26] Noah: Not today, but it has before.
[57:29] Cassidy: Next round, he could get by just based on those looks.
[57:34] Noah: I mean, there's a gay guy friend of mine that like comments on every single one of his posts and is like, yes, King.
[57:42] Noah: And I'm like, shoot your shot.
[57:45] Noah: You're shooting your shot publicly.
[57:47] Noah: This is getting like I want you to try it in the DM's.
[57:51] Cassidy: Standing ten toes down for Jacob Artis.
[57:53] Noah: Standing ten toes down.
[57:54] Noah: Like, you know that everybody could see this.
[57:56] Cassidy: It's crazy.
[57:58] Andrew: And sometimes I like the comment just to let them know, like, hey, I see you.
[58:02] Noah: We can see this.
[58:03] Cassidy: Okay. So what do we think that like the Gleeks are going to think about this?
[58:10] Noah: Because at least the Gleeks in the chat, I think are mostly happy.
[58:14] Cassidy: I saw a few sweet transvestite stands in the chat. But like, I don't know. Like, I think I hope that people don't come for us.
[58:22] Noah: The polls will be opposite.
[58:23] Cassidy: Noah, people will come for you and they'll be mean.
[58:26] Noah: I think the polls will be opposite.
[58:28] Cassidy: The polls will lean in my favor.
[58:30] Noah: But the polls are a toss up.
[58:32] Cassidy: The Instagram Gleeks are going to have some issues.
[58:34] Noah: Okay.
[58:36] Cassidy: I know I casted my vote. I just want to say, like, I really didn't know. And in the moment I picked that.
[58:44] Noah: So disclaimer.
[58:46] Cassidy: I didn't know.
[58:47] Noah: Those were both really good. That's probably the hardest competition I've ever done.
[58:50] Andrew: Hey, well, round four.
[58:53] Cassidy: Wait, hold on.
[58:54] Noah: Oh, it said Instagram Gleeks are going to have some issues.
[58:57] Cassidy: And Elijah said they've had issues.
[58:59] Noah: Honey.
[59:01] Andrew: I mean, to be honest.
[59:03] Noah: Yeah.
[59:05] Andrew: Noah, thank you so much for being a Gleek this month, this week, everything.
[59:11] Noah: And for listening for all of these years.
[59:14] Andrew: I hope the Glacket continues to amaze you.
[59:18] Noah: Oh, absolutely.
[59:20] Andrew: And now she's going to go far.
[59:21] Noah: You think so?
[59:23] Andrew: What do you think the contribution today has been?
[59:25] Noah: It's going to win.
[59:26] Andrew: It's going to be the winner.
[59:27] Noah: And it'll be because of me and Patrick today.
[59:29] Andrew: So we're just saying Chanel.
[59:30] Noah: We're being helpful.
[59:31] Andrew: Yeah.
[59:32] Noah: Noah, we'll be bonded forever.
[59:34] Andrew: So Nassie is the winner of the Glacket.
[59:36] Noah: We can stop now.
[59:37] Andrew: Incredible.
[59:38] Noah: Thank you so much, Noah.
[59:39] Andrew: Until next time.
[59:40] Noah: Thank you.
[59:42] Noah: Bye.
[59:43] Cassidy: Cassidy, are you here with us?
[59:47] Cassidy: Cassidy.
[59:49] Cassidy: Hi.
[59:50] Cassidy: Hello.
[59:51] Cassidy: How are you?
[59:53] Cassidy: What did you think of the last competition?
[59:55] Cassidy: What would you have voted for?
[59:58] Cassidy: They're very close.
[1:00:30] Andrew: Thank you so much for being a Gleek. What grievances do you have grievances to share right now?
[1:00:37] Patrick Sammon: Uh, not very many, but a few. Season four, I only have one. And that is "Teenage Dream" Season Two.
[1:00:46] Cassidy: Losing or winning.
[1:00:48] Patrick Sammon: Any way you want it is way better.
[1:00:51] Cassidy: I love that.
[1:00:56] Patrick Sammon: I mean, "Alfie" is my song. I'm so sad that it was out in round one.
[1:01:00] Andrew: What did that lose to?
[1:01:01] Patrick Sammon: That was sad.
[1:01:02] Cassidy: That was the "Seasons of Love" in round one.
[1:01:04] Andrew: Yeah.
[1:01:05] Cassidy: Yeah. Which I stand by. But I do miss "Alfie." "Alfie" is really... I need to go stream "Alfie" tonight actually.
[1:01:14] Andrew: What's it all about?
[1:01:17] Patrick Sammon: What is it all about?
[1:01:18] Cassidy: Andrew!
[1:01:19] Patrick Sammon: I feel like "Lean On Me." No one ever talks about "Lean On Me."
[1:01:25] Andrew: People do not talk about "Lean On Me." "Lean On Me," I think, if memory serves, "Lean On Me" lost to "Bad" in round one.
[1:01:30] Cassidy: That is correct. Okay.
[1:01:35] Andrew: Interesting.
[1:01:36] Patrick Sammon: Fact-checking me live.
[1:01:37] Andrew: I don't think that would be the decision nowadays.
[1:01:41] Cassidy: You don't think so? Because it's a word more sentimental.
[1:01:44] Andrew: Yeah. Okay, Cassidy, no one talks about "Lean On Me." You talk about "Lean On Me." What's... Why does it ring true to you?
[1:01:50] Cassidy: I don't know. Everyone's like having a good time. And it's season one. It's so cute.
[1:02:01] Andrew: Yeah.
[1:02:02] Cassidy: So are we thinking like season one? Like we want to see that? Or like a camaraderie one?
[1:02:07] Patrick Sammon: Andrew, I feel like you've been like very camaraderie focused lately.
[1:02:10] Andrew: I've been very camaraderie focused. Yeah.
[1:02:13] Cassidy: Okay. Me too. So if we pull one of those, maybe that'll go through. That's the Cassidy, Patrick, Andrew vibe.
[1:02:22] Patrick Sammon: Camaraderie. Cassidy, do we have anything? What are you... You're manifesting as season one. What are we manifesting?
[1:02:29] Cassidy: Season one or Santana would be great.
[1:02:36] Patrick Sammon: Yeah. Okay.
[1:02:38] Cassidy: Taste. Taste. Taste. Taste alert.
[1:02:42] Patrick Sammon: Please give me Santana or season one or Quinn.
[1:02:46] Andrew: Okay. So this is from the final episode of round three of the Glackett. The winner of that competition, if anybody recalls. Glackett history.
[1:03:02] Cassidy: Oh, was that the one where we all like called in?
[1:03:05] Andrew: Everybody called in. Yes.
[1:03:08] Cassidy: Wasn't a Christian channel... Is a Christian channel a song? It's home?
[1:03:12] Patrick Sammon: It is. "One Less Bell to Answer" / "A House is Not a Home."
[1:03:16] Andrew: Okay. Okay. Okay.
[1:03:20] Andrew: And good morning, everybody. We're back.
[1:03:26] Patrick Sammon: Andrew, you have thoughts. What are they?
[1:03:31] Andrew: The chat was killing me.
[1:03:33] Patrick Sammon: The chat was...
[1:03:36] Andrew: Some of these weeks I need to take a cold shower.
[1:03:40] Patrick Sammon: Eduardo is... I love Eduardo asking Kate if Kate has the white T-shirt that Matthew Morrison is wearing in this scene.
[1:03:51] Cassidy: Also Noah, who is just on, said Sue hearing all that from the microphone under his bed.
[1:03:57] Andrew: That's good.
[1:03:58] Patrick Sammon: Oh, I'm thinking about it. Because wait, I feel like I ask this every single time, but they don't hook up.
[1:04:01] Cassidy: I don't think they... I don't think they bang.
[1:04:05] Andrew: No. They don't bang. It's important to know.
[1:04:08] Patrick Sammon: They just lie next to each other in bleak bliss.
[1:04:12] Andrew: I really like this song. The vocals are outstanding.
[1:04:21] Cassidy: I don't... I think I'd be interested to see what this comes up against.
[1:04:26] Andrew: Because if this came up against a group number, I think that'd be hard for me.
[1:04:31] Patrick Sammon: Because this is kind of a standalone.
[1:04:35] Andrew: Kristen Chenoweth, who's a singing musical theater god, just randomly came on this show during season one and blew everyone away.
[1:04:45] Patrick Sammon: And it's really good. How glee is it? I don't know. But I really, really think this is...
[1:04:50] Andrew: To be honest, I think it's really good television.
[1:04:58] Patrick Sammon: The story that they're telling, the acting, the singing, it's really great.
[1:05:03] Andrew: I am against the infantilization of April Rhodes.
[1:05:11] Patrick Sammon: I know she kind of infantilizes herself. But she's curled up like a little baby and he kisses her. And I'm like, okay. Let's not do that.
[1:05:20] Andrew: She's canonically older than you, actually.
[1:05:25] Patrick Sammon: But she's, as they say, mother.
[1:05:31] Andrew: And did a really great job. And yeah. Pour one out for Kristen Chenoweth.
[1:05:38] Patrick Sammon: I am obsessed with this performance.
[1:05:42] Andrew: I feel like every time I watch it, I feel like I'm watching it with fresh eyes.
[1:05:47] Patrick Sammon: That I'm entirely there.
[1:05:52] Andrew: It just brings me to Mr. Schuster's apartment. That I'm there. I'm with them. I'm going to bed.
[1:06:00] Cassidy: Andrew, what are you thinking of this performance?
[1:06:05] Cassidy: It is a great performance. But in round three, I did vote for "Ned Bush" over this one.
[1:06:11] Patrick Sammon: Oh, you did? So this is kind of your op.
[1:06:14] Andrew: Interesting. Okay.
[1:06:16] Patrick Sammon: Andrew, did you vote? Or did you just let us vote?
[1:06:21] Andrew: I voted for this, too.
[1:06:23] Patrick Sammon: I voted for this.
[1:06:25] Andrew: Elijah said in chat, it's like a stage play in a good way.
[1:06:29] Patrick Sammon: It's not glee. It's just good media.
[1:06:33] Andrew: I don't know. It kind of exists in another universe to me. I really like it. But I never think about it as a glee number.
[1:06:40] Patrick Sammon: Yeah. I just think that there's so much here.
[1:06:44] Andrew: I just love Kristen Chenoweth's vein on her freaking forehead.
[1:06:50] Patrick Sammon: That's going crazy.
[1:06:52] Andrew: When she's laying down on her side. And the vein is popping. I'm like, girl was actually belting.
[1:07:01] Patrick Sammon: I just really like this a lot. And I'm really scared to see what it's up against.
[1:07:07] Andrew: I do have a question for both of you.
[1:07:10] Cassidy: Okay. So in this performance, Mr. Schuster puts down a blanket.
[1:07:20] Andrew: And the blanket goes on top of her body, April's. But he doesn't put down a sheet first on the couch.
[1:07:29] Patrick Sammon: I was going to be like, is he going to bring up that he didn't put a sheet down first?
[1:07:35] Andrew: There's no way he's going to say that. And then you said that.
[1:07:39] Patrick Sammon: This is on par with Mercedes doesn't like sand discourse.
[1:07:44] Andrew: No, this isn't on par with Mercedes doesn't like sand. Because I feel like this is an actual conversation.
[1:07:50] Cassidy: Sorry. Go on.
[1:07:52] Andrew: Not to say that Mercedes doesn't like sand is an actual conversation. Anyway.
[1:07:57] Patrick Sammon: But okay. I had a guest stay over a few weeks ago. And I realized that I only gave them a blanket. And I was like, oh, I didn't give them a sheet to put down on the couch before sending them to bed. And I felt bad about it.
[1:08:13] Andrew: So when you have a guest stay over, what are you supplying them with for couch sleep?
[1:08:20] Patrick Sammon: I'll take this one. I have a pull-out couch bed. Well, I'll put down a fitted sheet and then give them another sheet and then give them blankets.
[1:08:33] Andrew: Wow.
[1:08:35] Patrick Sammon: But that's because I feel like we're like I'm 30 something now. Whereas like my 20s, like when I was a teenager. Like, sure. I just was like, here, sleep in my corner with a blanket. Goodbye. Here's the blanket.
[1:08:50] Andrew: So yeah, I think that it's nice. I remember like staying at people's places and stuff and being like, oh my God, they gave me a sheet. Like, this is really nice. Like when I have people over, I'm going to give them a sheet.
[1:09:01] Cassidy: But good to know that if I go to your place and sleep over, you are going to not give me a sheet.
[1:09:09] Patrick Sammon: I'm taking notes.
[1:09:11] Andrew: I'm taking notes.
[1:09:13] Patrick Sammon: I just remember like when I stayed with like Alison Dodd last time, I was at her place of living. She like literally like I walked into the room that I was staying in. The room. She had an additional room. And like there was like towels. There was like my towel on the bed. She had like extra toothbrushes for me. I'm like, girl.
[1:09:39] Andrew: But do you think then that like Mr. Schuster should have laid it out? Is that what you're saying?
[1:09:44] Patrick Sammon: I feel like Mr. Schuster is a better guest than he led on with this performance. I think this was, we weren't seeing him at his best.
[1:09:56] Andrew: He's a better host.
[1:09:57] Patrick Sammon: Yeah.
[1:09:58] Andrew: Okay. Okay.
[1:10:01] Cassidy: Cassidy, this is your first time on Gleek of the Week. And you get sheet discourse. Were you prepared for this?
[1:10:08] Cassidy: Yeah. Cassidy, do you have anything to add for sheet discourse?
[1:10:12] Cassidy: I don't think so.
[1:10:16] Andrew: Let's see what we have against. I'm really scared. I really want the best for this song.
[1:10:22] Patrick Sammon: Oh, same season.
[1:10:27] Andrew: Same season.
[1:10:29] Patrick Sammon: Different sheets.
[1:10:30] Andrew: Well, okay. Wait, wait, wait, wait. Mr. Schuster slept on those mattresses without a sheet. So maybe he isn't a sheet person.
[1:10:34] Patrick Sammon: That's so true.
[1:10:41] Andrew: I got you.
[1:10:42] Patrick Sammon: I got you.
[1:10:43] Andrew: Okay. Wow. That is full circle. What we know about this character.
[1:10:48] Patrick Sammon: Yes.
[1:10:49] Andrew: Thank you. See what this is.
[1:10:51] Patrick Sammon: It is.
[1:10:52] Andrew: "Express Yourself."
[1:10:54] Patrick Sammon: Here we go.
[1:10:55] Andrew: It is.
[1:10:56] Patrick Sammon: Okay. I feel like I'm like falling victim to something that I really don't like that I do. Is that like, I am putting the carpet for the horse. I'm making the loser of a competition out to be bad because I just like the other song so much better.
[1:11:15] Andrew: I do genuinely love this song, but I could not stop thinking about "One Less Bell."
[1:11:22] Patrick Sammon: The last time this happened when you and I were recording, we were with Gleek of the Week Emily.
[1:11:28] Andrew: Yes.
[1:11:29] Patrick Sammon: And it was also a Madonna song. And people sent bombs to my house. It was bad.
[1:11:36] Andrew: So you opened the package.
[1:11:38] Patrick Sammon: Oh, great. Another bomb.
[1:11:40] Andrew: Yes.
[1:11:41] Patrick Sammon: Okay. You're putting carpet for the horse. I think we know what you're into.
[1:11:47] Andrew: What is it like during the performance? Were you thinking about "One Less Bell"? And you're like, I just think that I was really transformed during "One Less Bell." And I just thought the vocals.
[1:11:56] Patrick Sammon: Not to say that the vocals are not vocaling for "Express Yourself," but "One Less Bell." I was like, oh my God. Another plane of existence for me.
[1:12:09] Andrew: Has "Express Yourself" had a unique time on the Glackett? Has it killed anything interesting?
[1:12:14] Patrick Sammon: I think "Express Yourself." Let's see. "Express Yourself," I think, was voted back, actually. In round one, "Express Yourself" was in, I remember, Emily's debut episode.
[1:12:31] Andrew: And it won against, are you ready for this?
[1:12:34] Patrick Sammon: I just saw it in chat.
[1:12:36] Andrew: "Express Yourself." Hit me with your best shot. One way or another.
[1:12:43] Patrick Sammon: Why did people not have taste?
[1:12:46] Andrew: Who was on that episode? Who do I have to DM?
[1:12:49] Patrick Sammon: That was Emily.
[1:12:50] Andrew: That was Emily?
[1:12:52] Patrick Sammon: Yes.
[1:12:54] Andrew: And we all voted for "Express Yourself."
[1:12:57] Patrick Sammon: Emily and Allie.
[1:12:59] Andrew: Yeah, I call her Allie now. We're friends like that.
[1:13:03] Patrick Sammon: Oh, because you're like that. And then "Express Yourself." Oh, it lost to "Here Comes the Sun," voted back in round two.
[1:13:13] Andrew: And then in round three, it won against "Without You."
[1:13:24] Patrick Sammon: I mean, I don't care about "Without You." But like, why the fanfare for "Express Yourself"?
[1:13:30] Cassidy: Cassidy, are you an "Express Yourself" stan? Like, apparently everybody else is.
[1:13:34] Cassidy: Yeah.
[1:13:35] Andrew: Okay, wait, what are you liking about "Express Yourself"?
[1:13:38] Cassidy: Well, the vocals are split very nicely between the girls. At least in the MP3.
[1:13:45] Andrew: True, MP3 better than MP4.
[1:13:49] Cassidy: Santana's first vocal.
[1:13:52] Andrew: I think the only girl that's not on the track is Brittany.
[1:13:55] Patrick Sammon: It's Brittany, yeah.
[1:13:56] Andrew: Right. Yeah.
[1:13:57] Cassidy: I know, I'm like paying this song dust now for no reason.
[1:14:07] Andrew: I just don't get why it's like, it got voted back. It beat the best mashup.
[1:14:14] Patrick Sammon: Oh.
[1:14:16] Andrew: For what? What's going on?
[1:14:21] Patrick Sammon: Yeah. Well, no, it's just like, sometimes there are songs that like, I'm just surprised that people love that much. And I watched this and I really enjoyed it. And I was like, this like deserves to be in this round. Like, I think this is a great song. I love the girl power message theme in that part of the episode, etc.
[1:14:49] Andrew: What? Why it's had such like a significant run on the blacket with like being brought back. And like, some of the things that it beat, like, I don't know if I totally agree. So that's really interesting. But in general, I feel like I also know where my vote's going.
[1:15:11] Patrick Sammon: But I think Cassidy, are you?
[1:15:14] Cassidy: Yeah. I was just wondering, like, Cassidy, like, is this a hard competition for you? Or do you also kind of like have an idea of where your vote is?
[1:15:25] Cassidy: It's not very hard for me.
[1:15:27] Andrew: Oh.
[1:15:29] Cassidy: Not hard for you?
[1:15:31] Cassidy: I just think that like we, yeah, we don't have like, in terms of like girl numbers, like all the girls, I'm not talking about Troubletones. Like, I'm thinking about like "Halo," "Walking on Sunshine." What other girl numbers do we have? It's like they were all in like the first season. And then they just never really, I mean, then there's like the mashups in season two as well. Where it was girls versus boys, right? And then "Glory."
[1:15:57] Patrick Sammon: Yeah.
[1:15:58] Cassidy: Then there's like "I Kissed a Girl." Like, yeah, like, I don't know. So I do think it gets points in my mind for that. Because it kind of truly was like a great like Glee girl, original Glee girl number.
[1:16:13] Andrew: And you know what Glee girl number we're not talking about ever because not part of the Glackett? God rest ye merry gentlemen. And you know what?
[1:16:21] Patrick Sammon: Yeah, so good.
[1:16:23] Andrew: I'm not lying. Like if that was part of the Glackett, like it would need to see round six or I would kill someone.
[1:16:29] Patrick Sammon: I literally am obsessed.
[1:16:31] Andrew: Bombs to whoever was in that episode.
[1:16:37] Patrick Sammon: I think also Cassidy, maybe you would know this. It's like Heather the only, Heather is the only person, only girl that's not in that number as well. Right?
[1:16:44] Cassidy: Pretty sure.
[1:16:46] Andrew: And God rest ye merry gentlemen.
[1:16:48] Patrick Sammon: I don't think so.
[1:16:50] Andrew: Yeah.
[1:16:52] Cassidy: Cassidy, you know your vote. Do you have anything final to say about "Express Yourself"?
[1:17:08] Cassidy: I don't know. I don't want to fight for it.
[1:17:12] Andrew: Oh, you want to fight for it?
[1:17:14] Patrick Sammon: Fight? Tell me.
[1:17:18] Cassidy: Which one is it?
[1:17:20] Andrew: Yeah, fight.
[1:17:22] Cassidy: I can be convinced.
[1:17:24] Patrick Sammon: Well, I'm not sure I have a great argument. But it's just so good.
[1:17:28] Cassidy: Were you one of the ones who voted it back?
[1:17:30] Cassidy: Maybe.
[1:17:32] Patrick Sammon: I probably was.
[1:17:34] Andrew: Yeah.
[1:17:36] Cassidy: Okay. I think that's one of my favorite songs.
[1:17:41] Patrick Sammon: Yeah.
[1:17:43] Cassidy: And you're just hoping that I'll see the light.
[1:17:45] Andrew: I'll see the Madonna light.
[1:17:47] Patrick Sammon: Right.
[1:17:49] Andrew: I have been known to vote a Madonna number through. I think that like...
[1:17:53] Patrick Sammon: Okay. Patrick, I think that means that you're in the hot seat. Unfortunately.
[1:17:59] Andrew: Because I think that I made it very known that I preferred "One Less Bell to Answer" to "Express Yourself." And Cassidy, your vote, of course, is going to "Express Yourself."
[1:18:11] Cassidy: "Express Yourself."
[1:18:13] Andrew: Patrick, it's up to you.
[1:18:17] Patrick Sammon: Oh.
[1:18:19] Andrew: Not looking at the chat.
[1:18:21] Patrick Sammon: I don't think that there's a wrong answer here, actually.
[1:18:23] Andrew: I don't either.
[1:18:25] Patrick Sammon: I know that last round there were quite a few people who were upset with the decision to have "One Less Bell to Answer" kick out "Nutbush." And so I think it has a little bit of a target on its back.
[1:18:42] Andrew: I did already reconfirm that I did vote for this mashup, though, over "Nutbush."
[1:18:46] Patrick Sammon: I don't think I like that number as much as you do, Andrew. I really like it. I don't know if I'm standing it as hard as you. But I am going to vote for it over "Express Yourself."
[1:19:02] Andrew: "Express Yourself" is a little... It's great. It's fun. I just feel like it... "Express Yourself" ending in round four I think makes sense to me. But it's kind of disappointing because I could see it having gone a little bit farther if it had a less competitive mashup. But yeah, that's my vote.
[1:19:26] Cassidy: Andrew, I'm so sorry. Can you ever forgive us?
[1:19:30] Andrew: Unsubscribe from Patreon.
[1:19:35] Cassidy: Cassidy's like mad shit in the chat right now.
[1:19:39] Andrew: I'm about to express myself and unsubscribe.
[1:19:43] Patrick Sammon: She's like, these boys like Kristen Chenoweth too much. I have no chance.
[1:19:47] Andrew: Cassidy, thank you so much. I'm sorry that it didn't go your way, but I hope that in time that you can forgive us.
[1:20:01] Cassidy: Thanks for having me on.
[1:20:03] Andrew: Of course! Until next time. Thanks, Cassidy.
[1:20:07] Patrick Sammon: Bye!
[1:20:09] Andrew: Patrick, how does it feel to crush people's dreams, Andrew?
[1:20:13] Andrew: It doesn't feel good. I hate when this happens, actually. It doesn't sit right with my spirit.
[1:20:19] Patrick Sammon: It's Gleek of the Week, not Gleek of the Week.
[1:20:21] Andrew: You gotta make sure the good songs go through.
[1:20:27] Patrick Sammon: Wait, is that title of the episode Gleek of the Week, W-E-A-K?
[1:20:29] Andrew: Yeah, it's Gleek of the Week, W-E-E-K, not Gleek of the Week, W-E-A-K.
[1:20:35] Patrick Sammon: "Express Yourself," you are W-E-A-K. Get out of here.
[1:20:41] Andrew: Oh my gosh.
[1:20:43] Patrick Sammon: "Nasty Rhythm Nation."
[1:20:45] Andrew: I already forgot what happened.
[1:20:47] Patrick Sammon: That won. Yes.
[1:20:49] Andrew: "Nasty."
[1:20:51] Patrick Sammon: "Nasty."
[1:20:53] Andrew: You're not nasty.
[1:20:55] Patrick Sammon: Ron Fivick is nasty.
[1:20:58] Andrew: Ron Fivick, you're nasty.
[1:21:00] Patrick Sammon: Whenever I do these, you hate the ones that I suggest, because I probably don't get it.
[1:21:04] Andrew: No, I don't. I think that was actually perfect.
[1:21:08] Patrick Sammon: Okay, thank you. What's the next one?
[1:21:10] Andrew: "Sweet Transvestite," not sweet enough.
[1:21:12] Patrick Sammon: Not sweet enough.
[1:21:14] Andrew: You should transition to hell.
[1:21:16] Patrick Sammon: I don't know.
[1:21:18] Andrew: Okay, let's not go there.
[1:21:20] Patrick Sammon: Let's not go there, actually.
[1:21:22] Andrew: "One Less Bell to Answer," "A House is Not a Home," and round five.
[1:21:28] Patrick Sammon: Fine.
[1:21:30] Andrew: I feel like you've probably used that one before.
[1:21:32] Patrick Sammon: I've definitely used that before.
[1:21:34] Andrew: "Express Yourself," you can express yourself in hell.
[1:21:38] Patrick Sammon: Yeah.
[1:21:40] Andrew: Sorry, Cassidy.
[1:21:44] Patrick Sammon: Sorry, Kate.
[1:21:46] Andrew: I think Kate was... Wait, also, I want to know. We didn't do a group poll for that last competition. What did people think between the Kristen mashup and "Express Yourself"?
[1:22:02] Patrick Sammon: Oh, "Express Yourself."
[1:22:04] Andrew: "Express Yourselves."
[1:22:06] Patrick Sammon: Yes.
[1:22:08] Andrew: Alright, "One Less Bell." She won.
[1:22:10] Patrick Sammon: Andrew, do you have anything to leave with the Gleeks? First of all, thank you so much for being the co-host. Our Gleek of the Week.
[1:22:16] Patrick Sammon: Do I have anything for the Gleeks? You're strong. Gleek of the Strong.
[1:22:20] Andrew: Gleek of the Strong, yes.
[1:22:22] Patrick Sammon: I don't think so. I hope that everyone's enjoying their summer. I hope that... I don't know. I'm kind of nervous about sending "Sweet Transvestite" home. I think I'm going to get some hate mail, but...
[1:22:40] Andrew: You're going to get more bombs. You're going to open up more packages and it's going to be more bombs.
[1:22:44] Patrick Sammon: Sometimes I'm just scared. Someone's going to send me a pie and it's actually going to be a bomb and I'm going to eat it.
[1:22:50] Andrew: Stand on it.
[1:22:52] Patrick Sammon: You're doing a SpongeBob reference and I just interrupted you.
[1:22:56] Andrew: I'm sorry. I think that the right decisions were made, but I think that there's going to be some people who feel strongly, but that's what's fun about this round. It's Gleek of the Week, not Gleek of the Week, et cetera, et cetera.
[1:23:10] Patrick Sammon: I had a lot of fun. I always like the live episodes because I think when you record without the chat, it's its own kind of vibe. Then when you can record with the chat, you can play off them because everyone's really funny and has good stuff to say and it inspires the conversation.
[1:23:28] Andrew: When we record without the chat, it does feel very tunnel. It's just us and only us knows what happens.
[1:23:36] Patrick Sammon: That's fun too because then it's like, we have a secret.
[1:23:40] Andrew: We all have a little secret until it comes out.
[1:23:44] Patrick Sammon: Yeah. I also think that there are more cuts made from those types of episodes and recordings compared to these ones.
[1:23:54] Andrew: You've been in both. You're finding you need to make more cuts in the tunnel episodes where it's just us.
[1:24:00] Patrick Sammon: I think it's because we say more out-of-pocket shit that sometimes gets stricken for the record.
[1:24:06] Andrew: I don't know. That's true. I probably need to strike this too because then everyone's going to be like, well, what are you saying in those episodes?
[1:24:14] Patrick Sammon: I want to know.
[1:24:16] Andrew: I want to know what you guys are saying.
[1:24:20] Patrick Sammon: We're not saying anything. The point being that I really like these ones and I am always really happy when you ask me to be a part of them. I like interacting with the Gleeks even though there are some crazy messages that I saw today about me. Eduardo was, of course, acting up.
[1:24:36] Andrew: On par.
[1:24:38] Patrick Sammon: Thank you so much for attending this month. If you would like to attend future live stream episodes, you can go to patreon.com slash GleekTheWeekPod and join the Patreon. It's a lot of fun. You can interact. I really do love all the chats that go on during these recordings because everyone's talking to each other and they're saying their thoughts about the performances and everything. It's very, very cute and fun. Be part of our community.
[1:25:04] Andrew: Until next week, I have a lot of fun recordings lined up. Stay tuned. Until next time!
[1:25:12] Patrick Sammon: Bye!
[1:25:14] Andrew: It's Gleek. Gleek of the Week.
