[0:00] Andrew: Hello and welcome to the 200th episode of Gleek of the Week Podcast. I just wanted to pop in just me before the episode proper starts and say thank you, thank you, thank you, underline bold, italics, all the things, for listening for the past, gosh, 2021. That was four years ago, almost five years ago, March 2021. So if you are a day one listener, a fairly new listener, I just appreciate your time and care for the Glackett and all the things.
[0:43] Andrew: This episode that you're about to hear is, oh my god, I just had the most fun editing it. It may be my favorite episode of all time. Speaking with Britney S. Pierce herself, Heather Morris. She is down to clown. There is only one competition, Glackett competition in this episode, because I just wanted to really value the hour that I had with Heather and have a real conversation about all things Glee, all things Britney, all things Heather, all the things. Um, and so we will remake that additional competition in a future episode. I do have some fun plans for that. But yeah, also, hey, this episode is so fun that if you wanted to watch it, I will be posting the full video of this episode on Patreon. Again, if you would like to support the podcast and watch this episode as a little perk of supporting the podcast, you can go to patreon.com slash Gleek of the Week pod. You already know all the perks, but would love to have you over there. Anyway, thank you again for listening all these years. And I really hope that you enjoy this episode as much as I enjoyed doing it. Okay, bye.
[2:07] Andrew: We've got a mission to find the best song that's ever been on Glee. There's no rhyme or reason to it so don't get mad at me. Glackett by Glackett will rank everyone to see which song will move closer to spot number one. Gleek of the Week, Gleek, Gleek, Gleek of the Week. It's Gleek, Gleek of the Week. Recording in progress. Oh my gosh, 200th episode of Gleek of the Week podcast and our Gleek this week.
[2:50] Heather Morris: Oh my god, Britney Susan Pierce in the flesh.
[2:56] Andrew: Happy 200th episode to you.
[2:58] Heather Morris: Oh my god. Happy 200th episode to you. Mash up my cup, my cup, saying what's up to my cup, my cup.
[3:08] Andrew: Okay, the question that I have for you is if Britney were to do an iconic original song again, what would be the song?
[3:15] Heather Morris: I don't think that there's any topping my cup. I think that my cup, my cup, I was talking to Kevin and Jenna a few months ago, and I think that if the characters continued, I think that my cup, Britney, that went triple platinum. I think that music producers discovered my cup. My cup was such a moment and was just taken by-
[3:43] Andrew: Wait, I love that. Did it get recorded on YouTube and then she got a YouTube press play button or something?
[3:49] Heather Morris: I think that, yeah, she had the fondue for two of it all. She used the listeners from that and just capitalized on it. She is businesswoman, first and foremost.
[4:00] Andrew: She is businesswoman. What is her star sign? I know we're just going into chatting, but what is her star sign? What do you think?
[4:05] Heather Morris: Okay, wait, so actually this is so funny because of course I'm the biggest Glee fan in the world. I think that we do know that Britney is a water sign because in one episode, I don't know if you recall when they lit the piano on fire. Do you recall this?
[4:24] Andrew: Yes.
[4:24] Heather Morris: And then Santana did it and then they were like, why didn't Britney do it? And she said, because I'm a water sign.
[4:30] Andrew: Answer Scorpio or Pisces. I think she might be a Scorpio or a Pisces.
[4:34] Heather Morris: I'm a Scorpio, so I think that we could be Scorpio sisters.
[4:37] Andrew: I think she's a Scorpio.
[4:38] Heather Morris: Yeah, there we go. Yeah, Scorpio sisters. Okay, we figured it out. She's a Scorpio. And I think that Santana is also a Scorpio, like undebatable, right?
[4:48] Andrew: Or a Cancer.
[4:49] Heather Morris: You think so?
[4:50] Andrew: Like maybe they're both water signs, but I feel like because she's emotional, you know, that maybe she's a Cancer.
[4:57] Heather Morris: Yeah, okay. All right, we figured it out. Am I pigeonholing them? I don't know. Anyways, yes, Scorpio. Glastrology? Gleeastrology?
[5:03] Andrew: Okay, Gleeastrology. Okay, so we're in the 200th episode of Gleek the Week podcast. Heather, you can't escape this show. The Gleeks keep on talking about it. In 10 years after the series ended, people are eating up this podcast. They want to know what the best song on Glee is. Why do you think it's still resonating so much with fans new and old?
[5:31] Heather Morris: Well, congratulations on 200 episodes.
[5:32] Andrew: Thank you very much. Thank you.
[5:34] Heather Morris: We got to be proper and do the congratulations. It is Thanksgiving week, so we're grateful. We're thankful for the fans. Why do I think it's so successful? I was just having this conversation because we were talking about how all these shows and all these throwbacks are coming back. And not to do like remakes, but why not only do we have like diehard fans from the original air dates, but new fans who are coming to light who are younger. And I think it's because we're connecting generations, right? We're intergenerational. We're connecting a generation that is probably starting to get nostalgic. Like I am for the 90s. I'm super nostalgic. But I think we have now people who are graduating high school, maybe going through a hard time, like going into college, wanting something that reminds them of growing up in their home. So yeah, I think you're just, you know, you have both of those like connecting generations. You have your millennials with their kids who want to find a show that's wholesome. Glee isn't always wholesome, but not always, but it's real. They don't skirt around it. And then yeah, you have those kids who are now graduating, who want to feel that like warmth and that closeness to home. And it's so smart. It's just like such a smart show that it's just I think that it represents like I just love the as I'm getting older and like continuing to rewatch it, I'm like discovering that it's like this Glee Club like has every sort of person in it that it's like, wow, like it's like what the world could be that it's like we're all right together, united, you know, for you know, for better or for worse. And I think it's a beautiful message. You see everybody. You see everybody there.
[7:22] Andrew: Yeah. Yeah. So, oh my gosh. And then, Britannia, we spoke last time a little bit at the end of your last episode about how much that relationship meant to me and so many others. I'm curious if there's been like a certain fan that's like come up to you that's shared like specific story or, you know, any special moment that you've heard over the years?
[7:48] Heather Morris: Gosh, I, I, I mean, it's, it's not always the same, but it always feels like, you know, there's the once in a while I get the person who comes up to me who genuinely like holds my hand looks me in the eyes like you saved my life. Like, you have no idea what you did to me and my relationship with my parents and or my relationship with my grandparents. And so, there's not necessarily one, but it's like a whole collective of people who not only trust me with that, tell me their story, but like, that feel like I was a part of their story in a way. And that's really, really cool and special. And it took me a while to like, allow that for myself. Because sometimes my response would be quick witted and be like, Oh my God, I didn't do that. That wasn't me. You know, that's the writers and like, almost feeling guilty for taking that on. But in a way, we did and it's positive. It's not like, yeah, you know, it's self serving. It's a positive thing.
[9:00] Andrew: No, without a doubt. And I'm, I'm definitely one of those people that like, if I could hold your hand right now and be say the same thing that it's like, truly like, Britannia did save my life that like, I remember when it was like, announced that was like, okay, Brittany and Santana are gonna get together. I was like, Oh my God, this is gonna be comedic gold, you know, and that like, it was like, from these characters that were kind of just like, in the back a little bit, and just like, kind of not fully fleshed out. When it was like, proposed that these two characters would be romantically involved. I thought it would just be played for comedy. But that first episode with Gwyneth Paltrow and landslide, rocked my world in such a amazing way that it's like these two girls that are popular, and they're hot. And they're funny, that they're in love, you know, and it wasn't like played for jokes, like meant the absolute world to me that I like, I shifted my entire personality around Britannia that it was like, I made a Britannia playlist for the car and it was just like, landslide and songbird and all of the things and so no, you're responsible for those songs and cry.
[10:20] Heather Morris: Oh, yeah. How often are you listening to Glee songs? I'm curious.
[10:25] Andrew: I mean, I could lie and say I listen to them all the time, but I don't.
[10:31] Heather Morris: You don't? Yeah, sorry. Yeah, no, no. Yeah, I don't. I don't like in real life.
[10:36] Andrew: No, but landslide for sure. And I'm mostly it's just listening to Naya's voice, because my boys know her super well. And so like, I'll play her songs over and over again. Yeah, like River Deep is so iconic. Hey, it's just so good. It's so good. Like they literally didn't need to go that hard on it. But and boy is mine. Oh, oh my god. Just all of them. Valerie I feel like we don't talk enough about it's from the last season you and Naya together doing I feel the earth move hand in my pocket. Do you recall this one?
[11:04] Heather Morris: Y'all both it's like one of those songs that's like, perfectly matches both of your kind of like tones. And I'm like, Oh, yeah.
[11:10] Andrew: Yeah. So good. Amazing. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Oh my gosh. But Britannia, I just needed to reiterate how much that meant to me and to so many other people. So thank you. It changed my life in so many ways. Like you would have no, no idea how it's affected me. It's affected my parenting. It's affected me. Yeah. Like, just my day to day life and ways that are still so special to me. And that's why I like to do stuff like this. Just because it's like, connecting with the fans. Yeah, you know, connecting with people that, that want to keep it alive. And just like I do.
[11:50] Heather Morris: Totally. Yeah, yeah. I do have to say that your last episode, there was some hot water reaction to you saying that you don't believe that Santana is, is with us still, a lot of people like to think that Santana and Brittany are just like off in the sunset Santana would just be off screen.
[12:05] Andrew: Interesting take.
[12:06] Heather Morris: Yeah. That they're because I mean, it does make sense, though, because when Ryan went on, and that's what you really missed. Yeah, one of his biggest regrets was the Corey episode. Totally. He did not like it. And I think it would actually make more sense to have Santana sort of like, still exist in the world. She just doesn't show her face.
[12:37] Andrew: Santana is just too busy. Santana can't come to the phone. She's just too busy. She's momming it. She's lifing it. She's a mogul. She's living her life. Right?
[12:42] Heather Morris: Yeah. And Brittany is the star.
[12:47] Andrew: And Brittany is fondue for toing by herself.
[12:50] Heather Morris: Fondue for toing.
[12:52] Andrew: Fondue for toing.
[12:53] Heather Morris: Fondue for toing. And then recently, you were just on the weakest link where you fared.
[13:00] Andrew: I was.
[13:01] Heather Morris: Fairly well.
[13:02] Andrew: Well.
[13:03] Heather Morris: I would say was it third? Am I correct?
[13:07] Andrew: I got third you guys. I got third.
[13:09] Heather Morris: Oh my gosh. What was it like to see everybody?
[13:12] Andrew: Oh, it's so fun. It was a blast. We had a great time. Yeah. You know, those days go by so quickly. Like you get in, you're kind of thrown into like a whole photo shoot.
[13:24] Heather Morris: Yeah.
[13:24] Andrew: And they're wanting you to throw up a glee sign and everybody's cackling. And they're like, this is like the old days, you know, and then we're just jumping into the game. Not that long after. So we maybe had like 20 minutes to chat.
[13:40] Heather Morris: Yeah. I tried to get everybody together. But everybody had other things to do afterwards. Now everybody has kids and living elsewhere. Nobody lives in LA anymore. So yeah, it was good to catch up for like 20 minutes. But being like on a set with Jane Lynch. It was I, I could I had to stop myself from laughing because the stuff that they wrote for her was so good. So good. And like, like, Oh my god. Incredible.
[14:05] Andrew: Yeah.
[14:06] Heather Morris: Yeah. On par with the suit quips. It felt like I was watching Sue Sylvester. And I then was like, I want this back so bad. Her lines are so good.
[14:17] Andrew: Yeah, they were so good. It's just gold. Yeah. So I'm begging for it. Just like you guys are. I was like, and I Jane Lynch is Sue Sylvester is iconic. Oh, she back in the tracksuit when that picture of like all of y'all together was released. My phone was blowing up as if there was an emergency happening that I was like, Oh my god, what is happening? Open the phone, that picture of all of y'all next to each other. Just took everybody back. Do you think there will be a reboot? Like when you get something like that? Are you is the thought that there this is going to be a reboot?
[14:46] Heather Morris: Okay, so I know that like, people are like, I don't want to glee reboot. I don't want to glee reboot. And you know, what I really love is that Brad was on and that's what you really missed. And when asked about it by Kevin and Jenna, he said that like he needs to it there really needs to be an impetus to like, bring it together and the right idea hasn't come yet. And so like that really it was like, I feel so protected by like that, that it's like it's not going to be like just thrown together. They they put so much care into it, just like with the original show, you know, so yeah, I would love it. Of course, there's so many songs today that I'm like, need to hear Rachel on that need to hear Brittany on that, you know, like I need I need the glee cast versions of these songs. Yeah. And I also think that like, we also just live in such a divided time right now, that it would be so nice to see all these characters mesh together and just like, yeah, figuring it out. Inspiring.
[15:55] Andrew: Yeah. So if it was okay, I'm gonna get controversial. But if it was on TV today, yeah, would it be a successful? Like, would it be so controversial that it would get? You know, it's so interesting. It's so interesting, because like, Alex Newell's character Unique, I remember that was my first introduction to transgender that I was like, okay. And as like a 15 year old, I was like, just watching it. And I was like, okay, this is the character. I understand everything that they're saying. No questions. I'm completely fine with it. But like now it's like, I don't even think that there was that much backlash as there would be now, if Unique was right, you know, that it was like, it would cause such an uproar. It wasn't even a thing. Right. It was just like, oh my god, we... Nor was Beast's character like...
[16:47] Heather Morris: Oh my gosh, yeah. When they transitioned, that wasn't a big deal either. It's like, who cares? No, but it's just like picking on the most vulnerable communities that it's like, okay. I call it pick me energy.
[17:00] Andrew: Yeah.
[17:01] Heather Morris: It's full of pick me energy. Everybody's like, well, but then you have this whole other side that you're not paying attention to, which includes me. So therefore we can't like, no, no, no. You know, like, it's all just like pick me energy. It drives me nuts. Kill me. And it's rage baiting.
[17:16] Andrew: Rage.
[17:17] Heather Morris: Yeah. But like, yeah, I do want to glee boo. I think that there's so many more stories to tell with, you know, the children that are finding themselves in the arts. There's so much talent out there. I know that people are like throwing out like big names like Sabrina Carpenter and like Zendaya and whatever. I'm like, I want to discover some folks like the way that the, you know, the original cast was. That's like, I want to find the next Heather Morris and the next, you know, Naya, you know, like all of these people that became household names.
[18:07] Andrew: Yeah.
[18:08] Heather Morris: Yeah. So yeah, it's like Hunger Games, how they just announced Hunger Games and like the cast before they were.
[18:12] Andrew: Yeah.
[18:13] Heather Morris: Yeah. It's cool.
[18:14] Andrew: Yeah. I don't want to, I would love, I would love Tate McRae to be like a Britney.
[18:17] Heather Morris: Oh my God. Wait, could you imagine?
[18:19] Andrew: That would be good. I feel like it would be so good. Wait, why am I blanking on like, what's a Tate McRae song? What is?
[18:25] Heather Morris: Oh, um, um, um, oh, I'm bad at her songs.
[18:28] Andrew: I just like watching her dance, obviously, because she's a dancer.
[18:31] Heather Morris: Wait, but Tate McRae is a, is she also, she's a singer.
[18:35] Andrew: Let's see. She's a singer.
[18:37] Heather Morris: Okay. I am not. Tate McRae. Nobody's girl. How does, what is that? Actually, I don't think.
[18:42] Andrew: Sports car. Sports car is a good one. It's okay. I'm okay. I think sports car is a good one. And I think what I want, that's the newer ones.
[18:47] Heather Morris: Okay. Let's go to her essentials. Let's go to her.
[18:50] Andrew: Tit for tat. Tit for tat. Tit for tat. Tits for tits.
[18:55] Heather Morris: Oh, this is in my headphones.
[18:57] Andrew: Oh my God.
[18:58] Heather Morris: Oh God. It's not coming through, but I believe you.
[19:02] Andrew: Oh my God. Well, such a letdown. Anyway, I'll listen to it later. I'll be like, wait.
[19:09] Heather Morris: Yeah, I see it. I see it.
[19:10] Andrew: Yes. Yes. Okay. No, but she is Tate McRae is dancer first and singer. Um, and I think she gives me Brittany energy for sure. I mean, history repeating itself for sure.
[19:20] Heather Morris: Yeah.
[19:21] Andrew: I feel like, okay. One of the big things that I wanted to talk about was obviously you have been asked so many times about like the, you know, you, the Beyonce and then you're brought in to do single ladies and all of that, but like this humor that you found that was like inspiring to Ryan to write for and expand this Brittany S Pierce character, the voice, we need to talk about the Brittany voice. I was listening to all of her jokes, the like the, throughout the entire series, the voice that you do for Brittany is so specific. And like, I have like a new found respect for it. Is there a care, is there a person that you based Brittany on?
[20:11] Heather Morris: I did. It was Karen from Mean Girls.
[20:13] Andrew: There we go. Yeah. Mystery solved.
[20:17] Heather Morris: It was, it was Karen from Mean Girls.
[20:20] Andrew: Yeah.
[20:21] Heather Morris: She, the Taco Bell line sold it for me. I was like, forever more. Well, I want to be Karen from Mean Girls.
[20:24] Andrew: Yeah, no, it's like, you know, it's so good because I'm like, it's the, it's the daftness, but also the sincerity.
[20:31] Heather Morris: Yeah.
[20:32] Andrew: And you believe listening to all of the, I don't know if you've ever done this, but listening to all of the Brittany jokes throughout the entire, there, there, you got some great lines, of course, but like, I'm listening to gold, listening to them. And I'm like, she's not making sense, but I understand the train she's on, which is like, you know, like I understand how she gets duvet from duet. I understand how she's getting a male duck from ballad. You know what I mean? From a ballad.
[21:08] Heather Morris: Yeah. I like, I totally understand. And I think that like, you absolutely sold this character as well, of course.
[21:13] Andrew: Oh, thank you. Thank you. Thank you. And yeah, so I think Kord kind of embodies Brittany in a funny way. Like his, him, Kord as himself, if I may, because he's like family to me, like when we're around Kord, I'm just like, how, how did you, how, how did you get that? But then he's so smart.
[21:28] Heather Morris: Yeah.
[21:29] Andrew: Like Kord almost won the weakest link, going back to the weakest link. Right. The shit that that boy knows is just random. Like he knows so many things about life. And weirdly enough, my youngest son, Owen, reminds me a lot of Kord.
[21:46] Heather Morris: Oh yeah.
[21:47] Andrew: Like the things that he's starting to say, I'm like, what? Can you just, can we critically think? Let's unpack this.
[22:01] Heather Morris: Like, how did you get that? Where did, where did that come from? A new way of thinking.
[22:08] Andrew: It's just a new way of, yeah, it's just a new way. And, and, and it's so sincere and so joyous and so lovable.
[22:14] Heather Morris: Yeah.
[22:15] Andrew: And I, and I, and I hope that, I hope that he grows out of it. Maybe he leans into it and finds his own path. Or maybe he leans into it. You know, you know.
[22:30] Heather Morris: I'm going to always love him. I'm going to always love him. I just, you know, I want him to find love.
[22:33] Andrew: Yeah. One day. But these, these Brittany-isms, I loved that you included the, the dolphins are just gay sharks as you're, as you're leaving, as you're parting gift to the camera in The Weakest Link. Is that your favorite of the Brittany lines? Do you have a favorite?
[22:52] Heather Morris: I think so. Yeah. I think it was the first time that I really recall when we were in Breadsticks getting that line and the, the cameraman and everybody behind the camera just lost it. They just lost it. I, and I know looking over at Naya, she had to like, really keep a straight face during it. And I just, that one to me just cracks me up so much. And like, how did- Because it's actually kind of true.
[23:17] Andrew: It kind of is true. I would say so. Yeah, it's true.
[23:20] Heather Morris: Um, that, and that also like, I feel like that joke kind of like got a life of its own too. I feel like I remember seeing it on t-shirts and I was like, it wasn't even glee related, but like, it really took off in a major way.
[23:29] Andrew: It was the advertising for Brittany S. Pierce.
[23:35] Heather Morris: It was, that was the mission statement.
[23:38] Andrew: Yeah. That was the mission statement. But I think that like, I love that entire scene of y'all at Breadsticks. I think that there's so many great Brittany-isms, the returning the food, saying that there was a mouse in yours. When Finn says like, oh, I kind of like Rachel. And then you say, Finn, that's mean. Killed me.
[23:56] Heather Morris: Oh my gosh. Um, it, it, the delivery every single time. You kill it.
[24:05] Andrew: Um, thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Going back to the music a little bit. Oh, we have a running bit on this podcast where I didn't even realize that I was doing this bit, but we would be watching a song that features Brittany. And in the discussion about the song, I'd be saying that was Heather Morris's best vocal. And then people, then the listeners let me know. I can't be saying that about every single Brittany song. Um, but there are so many contenders for Heather Morris's best vocal. I feel like Christmas wrappings up there. I feel the earth move, which we were talking about, wishing and hoping, tell him, I feel like doesn't get discussed enough.
[24:45] Heather Morris: I love tell him very, very fun. Yeah. I was excited to sing that one for sure.
[24:49] Andrew: That's a good one. And you've like really you're, you're popping around in a really fun way. It's, it's just the blue dresses. It's very cute. Um, yeah. Do you definitively all like ego aside, definitively? What is Heather Morris's best vocal? Crazy question.
[25:07] Heather Morris: Christmas wrapping Christmas wrapping. It's not even a vocal. So I don't know if that counts. Cause it's not like I'm doing anything specific. I'm just wrapping your Christmas song.
[25:12] Andrew: Yeah. I'm Christmas wrapping. That song was hard to do. Yeah. And I don't know if you've tried it. Have you ever tried it?
[25:17] Heather Morris: Oh, I've tried I on success.
[25:20] Andrew: Yeah. Yeah. It's a really hard one. Wait. So like lucky enough, we were allowed to like try takes where they would just like stitch them together. You know what I mean? Like we do a take and if I couldn't get through it, they'd be like, Oh, we'll just stitch it together. So yeah. Kudos to the audio team, but it was, it was super hard to try and rap that song for those, for those phrases. Like I feel so, I feel actually really cool. Um, and I would love to have a rapping career. So maybe even Brittany S Pierce has a rapping career. I think, or she just does a mall tour mall tour with mall tour.
[26:02] Heather Morris: I feel like I remember like Rebecca black, which she did like a, a mall tour where all she sang was Friday. And so I think that like, I think that Brittany could do a mall tour where all she sings is my cup.
[26:12] Andrew: Remind me who, who Rebecca black is.
[26:13] Heather Morris: It's Friday, Friday. Gotta get down on Friday. You know it.
[26:19] Andrew: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. They sang it on glee. I do know that, but I just don't know who Rebecca black is. She was, she was a teenage girl that had what people are saying was the worst song of all time. And apparently not because she did a mall tour. So why, Hey, if it's the worst song, then why are all the fans here?
[26:38] Heather Morris: Yeah. Why are we here? Why are we here? Why are we still talking about her?
[26:43] Andrew: Um, no, but anyway, Heather Morris, you've ticked so many boxes over your career, actor, singer, dancer, producer. I struggle to find something that you are not incredible at. Um, what is next for you? What is one thing that you want to take off next?
[27:09] Heather Morris: I want to go get a crispy rice and spicy tuna sushi. Me too. And, um, a spicy yellow to hand roll and maybe some garlic edamame. Uh, that's next on my plate. Literally. That's what I'll be consuming for lunch to celebrate my Scorpio friend, her birthday. It's a little late, but that's okay.
[27:30] Andrew: Wait, when was it?
[27:31] Heather Morris: My birthday was the 20th. Hers was the 16th.
[27:35] Andrew: Oh, okay. Wait, you just had your birthday. Happy birthday.
[27:39] Heather Morris: Thank you so much. A lot of milestones are happening.
[27:42] Andrew: 30. You're a cuss.
[27:43] Heather Morris: Yeah. You're a cuss baby. Cuss baby. Because what it's Capricorn now.
[27:46] Andrew: Is that right? No, no, it's Sag Sag Sagittarius.
[27:56] Heather Morris: And wait, what are you?
[27:57] Andrew: I'm an Aquarius Aquarius.
[27:59] Heather Morris: It's a good one.
[28:01] Andrew: Yeah. But I'm the second half Aquarius. So the way they explain it is like the first half. My husband, my husband hates this topic and it cracks me up. I mean, I also don't know too much about it. So it's like Enneagrams, you know, like you're describing people's personalities based off of their Enneagram or their star sign. Do you know Enneagrams are?
[28:14] Heather Morris: No, I don't know.
[28:15] Andrew: Oh my God, hon, go look up Enneagrams. Sweetie, sweetie, you're gonna want to look this up. Honey, you're going to want to look up Enneagrams. It's crazy. It's basically Enneagrams constitute your personality based on how you grew up and your upbringing, what type of person you are. I am a nine, which means I'm the peacemaker.
[28:39] Heather Morris: Oh, so I want to make sure that everything's peaceful in a situation.
[28:45] Andrew: Yeah. And almost like a mediator.
[28:47] Heather Morris: Okay. Which makes a lot of sense for me. But my husband's a one. So he's a perfectionist. So he likes things like just right. But he's amazing.
[28:53] Andrew: Okay, so back to back to Aquarius. So, so here we go. The first half of Aquarius are like quiet thinkers who who don't like social situations and are just quirky and weird. I'm the latter half, which is January 31st to February 20th. I could be saying that wrong. I mean, I'm like, we're social butterflies. We love to chat and have we have weird personalities and weird ideas about aliens and space and things like that.
[29:08] Heather Morris: Oh, really?
[29:09] Andrew: But we're social. We're not the quiet ones. So I don't know what the point I was making, but I'm social.
[29:13] Heather Morris: Wait, so I kind of want to unpack you have a weird idea about aliens.
[29:20] Andrew: Actually, interestingly enough, I think it'd be really funny if Brittany S. Pierce's character, Brittany Susan Pierce's character. One of the episodes was her trying to contact aliens.
[29:29] Heather Morris: That's in the Glee boot.
[29:30] Andrew: Yeah. And she's 100 percent. And she sings a Tate McRae song with Tate McRae.
[29:35] Heather Morris: When she gets abducted. But you don't see her there. She just, it's like, it's like the reflection afterwards. They ask her about it and she's like, yeah, I sang a Tate McRae song with Tate McRae.
[29:41] Andrew: Oh, I love that. Wait. And then it's like nobody believes her, but then it's revealed like it actually did happen.
[29:46] Heather Morris: Yeah. And then and then we see Tate McRae in passing and she just like offhandedly.
[29:51] Andrew: They're speaking the alien language.
[29:53] Heather Morris: They're speaking the alien language. See, that's it.
[29:56] Andrew: Oh my gosh. And they have matching tattoos.
[29:59] Heather Morris: The people yearn for a Glee boot.
[30:02] Andrew: The people are yearning. It's your name. And you would you would be back in a second. No question.
[30:06] Heather Morris: Would I be back in a second? Again, it's the same. I think my response is the same as Brad's. Like it would have to be right. Yeah. And it would have to be perfect. Not chasing perfection, but it would have to feel. Right. It would have to feel like nobody was doing it for money. We weren't doing it for X, Y and Z. We were doing it because we genuinely wanted to.
[31:05] Andrew: Yeah. And everybody was behind it and excited for it. Hey, the heart the heart needs to be there.
[31:11] Heather Morris: Yeah, the heart needs to be there for sure. The heart in the titties.
[31:16] Andrew: The heart in the titties. Oh my. Oh my gosh. Well, Heather Morris, we will be looking at two songs from the hit Fox show Glee, which are you familiar with it?
[31:25] Heather Morris: Oh, Fox, Fox. Oh, the network.
[31:33] Andrew: Um, and we will be putting them. Is there a theme song for Fox? Like, you know, you know, CBS is like, ding, ding, ding.
[31:39] Heather Morris: That's no, that's NBC.
[31:41] Andrew: Fox. I'm not watching Fox like that. I'm not watching.
[31:46] Heather Morris: I know that there is a separation between Fox programming, you know, like the news programming.
[31:56] Andrew: And yes, there is a there is a divide there.
[31:59] Heather Morris: Yeah. But I'm getting hot. I'm getting hot thinking about that. All right. Jackets coming off. So we will be looking at two songs, put them head to head. And with your help, we will be deciding which is moving forward on the glock. And if we happen to disagree, the tiebreaker will be what would Britney Susan Pierce vote for? Here is our first song. I'm going to share my screen. We're going to watch it. And then we're going to discuss sound. Okay, here we go. The song here is Disco Inferno.
[32:35] Heather Morris: The Spirit Fingers. And this beer at the end. I think it's perfect.
[32:41] Andrew: Oh my god. It was so bring it on.
[32:43] Heather Morris: So bring it on. I think it's like Charlie's Angels a little bit.
[32:47] Andrew: Spirit Fingers.
[32:48] Heather Morris: Yeah. Oh, no, I just saw bring it on.
[32:52] Andrew: You saw bring it on. I guess the Charlie's Angels would be the gun.
[32:56] Heather Morris: Yeah, that's true. Anyway, you're saying?
[32:58] Andrew: I have so many questions. I want to hear them. I'm like for Mercedes character. I'm like curious about the church dress. I know it was like more of a church song. But it was that was an interesting choice. I think it's like a little like disco inspired like a little bit of a ruffle, right? It's the disco episode.
[33:10] Heather Morris: Okay. But I'm seeing it kind of reminds me of the regionals dresses.
[33:16] Andrew: Yes, I see that. I see the orange. Wasn't it orange?
[33:22] Heather Morris: Um, there was, there was obviously a number of like orange ruffly. Um, no, I feel like it was like the there was the black dress with like the orange ribbon. Is that what you're thinking?
[33:30] Andrew: Oh, that's what I'm thinking of. I'm thinking of the black. Oh, wait, wait. No, but at regional season one, it was like gold kind of like metallic with a black.
[33:36] Heather Morris: Okay, I think.
[33:40] Andrew: Okay. Anyways, sorry, no shame. Mercedes Amber. Um, you know, we were just like doing some grooving and she was in a dress and I'm like, well, she would have been able to get down in some pants.
[33:58] Heather Morris: Yeah.
[33:59] Andrew: But that's okay. But she's still got also the stage. So good. Did we ever reuse that stage? That was for the entire disco episode that it was for the Saturday night Gleaver episode. Is this ringing a bell?
[34:11] Heather Morris: No, I remember.
[34:12] Andrew: I'm always thinking in terms of like production side. I'm like, Oh, where that came from. Is that looks like a Dance Dance Revolution stage. They should have written some sort of storyline where they're like playing Dance Dance Revolution and then Sam or somebody steals the Dance Dance Revolution, like lights the floor and then we use it.
[34:28] Heather Morris: Yeah. It's such a shame that like in universe, it's like it's led to believe that, you know, they purchased this this stage and then they only used it for one week.
[34:39] Andrew: Hmm. Get your money's worth of this of this beautiful stage.
[34:45] Heather Morris: Yeah. Yeah. That was always the mindset of us on set when we get the scripts. We'd be like, how did we have where's the budget for this? We don't have enough money for a accessible bus for Artie. However, we do have enough money for an elaborate Katy Perry number.
[35:03] Andrew: Hmm.
[35:04] Heather Morris: Yeah. With like rings and stilts and extra people.
[35:11] Andrew: Yeah. Make it make sense. But I think that's part it's like endearing that it's like, sure, sure, sure. Yeah, of course. It just cracks me up. That was like our inside joke was like, how did they get the money for this?
[35:22] Andrew: Yeah, this is this is actually kind of insane, especially considering that this performance is simply just for Mr. Schuster.
[35:31] Heather Morris: Yeah, it was all it was all paid for by Santana's rich dentist father.
[35:38] Andrew: Oh, no, not a dentist. A real real doctor.
[35:43] Heather Morris: Oh, he was a real doctor.
[35:48] Andrew: Yeah, because she's that's right. And not she goes and not a tooth doctor, a real doctor, a real one.
[35:52] Heather Morris: Get up in my grill.
[35:53] Andrew: Get up in my girl.
[35:59] Heather Morris: So now wants to get her anesthesia on.
[36:07] Andrew: Irresponsible, irresponsible. How dare you?
[36:10] Heather Morris: Oh my gosh. Disco Inferno. Amber Rilo. That's contender number one.
[36:12] Andrew: Yeah. Amber Riley. There's something wrong with that woman. She is just truly perfect at everything that she does.
[36:20] Heather Morris: Insane. Just because she's an Aquarius.
[36:22] Andrew: Oh, is that why?
[36:25] Heather Morris: That's why I didn't think that I'd be learning so much about astrology this this hour with you.
[36:30] Andrew: Yeah. Well, also, funny enough, Cord, Amber and I are all three of us are Aquarians.
[36:33] Heather Morris: Oh, OK.
[36:34] Andrew: Yeah. And they get the aliens had it out for us.
[36:39] Heather Morris: Yeah. In weakest link. And they rigged the competition is what I think.
[36:43] Andrew: Mm hmm. You mentioned Lady Di, Princess Diana. I mean, this that woman is ethereal to me. What an enigma.
[36:53] Heather Morris: Oh, she is an enigma. She is incredible. What is what she's untouchable. I'll never understand. It's like, oh my God, she's so funny. And just like the sometimes the accents that she just goes in and out of. I'm like, oh, her mind. She's Madonna. She's Madonna.
[37:12] Andrew: Two point now. What is your do you have a favorite memory with with Lady Di?
[37:16] Heather Morris: Oh, golly, gee, Lady Di. I don't know. Like so Lady Di and I were never in close circles. I think that because we were so similar in our like what's the word. Not demure, but like, you know, we both were kind of just chill and weird and groovy, goofy girls, goofy, groovy people. Yeah, that that I think we were so similar. We kind of didn't detract from each other, but we never grew close. Like we never turned around, you know, and like gravitated towards each other. So I always felt like this fun shadow that was like staring at her from behind and I could never keep up with her. With her beauty and her etherealness. She is otherworldly. And it still haunts me to this day.
[38:09] Andrew: Haunting, haunting woman. She also.
[38:14] Heather Morris: Oh, my gosh. You never know what our next move is going to be.
[38:17] Andrew: Never, never. I don't know where she is. I don't know what she's wearing. I don't know how she's going to talk. It's like, what accent do we have today?
[38:23] Heather Morris: Oh my God. Any final things that we need to say about Disco Inferno?
[38:29] Andrew: Disco Inferno. I mean, I gave you my first thoughts. I was curious about the budget. Amber Riley's vocals were out of this world. And I'll never understand that.
[38:43] Heather Morris: I liked it. I clocked that Cordova Street was well, not cord, but Sam was videotaping. And I was like, we need an NDA.
[38:54] Andrew: You didn't get her to sign.
[38:56] Heather Morris: You didn't get her to sign.
[38:58] Andrew: Oh my God.
[39:00] Heather Morris: Don't post that anywhere.
[39:02] Andrew: Oh my God. The children. They're underage. You can't videotape.
[39:06] Heather Morris: Oh my gosh. No, Disco Inferno, I'm obsessed. We like to, we have different names for the different solos on the show. So like a Britney solo would be a Bertolo, Santana solo, Santolo.
[39:19] Andrew: Cool.
[39:20] Heather Morris: Cool, right? And then this would be a Mer-Solo. And I really love this Mer-Solo. I think it's like, it's not like what you would kind of expect from a Mer-Solo. Like, it's like not like a Aretha or, you know, like a Dreamgirls number. But like, it's like, she really, this was an inspired choice. And I'm obsessed with it.
[39:42] Andrew: It was Aretha adjacent. If I were to, if I were to have some sort of like, gift or trophy for these solos, it would be a Bolo.
[39:55] Heather Morris: Oh, a Bolo tie.
[39:56] Andrew: A Bolo tie. Yeah, with a medallion on it. That was, then you could inscribe the Mer-Solo or Bertolo.
[40:04] Heather Morris: Oh, well, I think-
[40:04] Andrew: Every time you passed it.
[40:06] Heather Morris: I mean, it's close enough to a Blaine solo, otherwise known as a Bolo, which sounds dirty.
[40:17] Andrew: I don't hear that at all, Andrew.
[40:19] Heather Morris: Who said that?
[40:24] Andrew: Oh my gosh. Okay, against Disco Inferno. Here is Disco Inferno's competition. It is We Are Young. Here we go.
[40:38] Heather Morris: I could cry. I'm emotional.
[40:40] Andrew: I was bored.
[40:41] Heather Morris: You were bored?
[40:42] Andrew: I was bored.
[40:44] Heather Morris: No, don't say that.
[40:44] Andrew: It felt like I was watching Red Rover. Like, Red Rover, Red Rover, send Mercedes right over.
[40:54] Heather Morris: So remind me the storyline is, we're in the treble tones, and then we're coming back. Because, okay, kind of, this was not, this is not set well with the Glee community, the Gleemunity, that the treble tones lost sectionals to the New Directions.
[41:07] Andrew: Even though they undisputedly won with Survivor, I Will Survive.
[41:18] Heather Morris: Incredible. You agree?
[41:20] Andrew: Incredible. They deserved a Bolo.
[41:24] Heather Morris: They deserved a Bolo. And also first prize.
[41:28] Andrew: And first, for sure.
[41:29] Heather Morris: And first, but more importantly, the Bolo. Yeah, no. And then New Directions was like, okay, come on back, Red Rover.
[41:37] Andrew: Come on back.
[41:38] Heather Morris: Red Rover, Red Rover, send Santana and Brittany right over.
[41:42] Andrew: That's what it felt like. Also, Lady Di looked like Emma Pillsbury.
[41:46] Heather Morris: She kind of went into Emma's closet for this one.
[41:49] Andrew: She went into Emma's closet for this one. I thought it was her for like a split moment. I was like, is that Emma? What is she doing with all the kids?
[41:58] Heather Morris: What is she doing? Crazy.
[42:01] Andrew: You mean the adult storylines got lost? Oh, God. Of course they did.
[42:05] Heather Morris: I'm sorry. I broke your heart. I was so bored.
[42:11] Andrew: You're bored. I need to-
[42:13] Heather Morris: I was bored.
[42:13] Andrew: I need to remind you that We Are Young Gleecast version by the Gleecast really did bring this original song by Fun onto the map. Do you recall this?
[42:25] Heather Morris: I do recall that. You're right. You're right. You're right. You're right.
[42:27] Andrew: And I just want, you know, the Red River aside, we need to pay our respects.
[42:32] Heather Morris: Oh, 100%. And it's Thanksgiving week. And we are super grateful.
[42:36] Andrew: And we're thankful for our cast, our crew, our actors, our makeup artists, our sound editors.
[42:46] Heather Morris: Even when-
[42:46] Andrew: Thank you for the Oscar. We're so grateful for you.
[42:49] Heather Morris: Even when it's boring.
[42:49] Andrew: Yes. No, I think even when it's boring.
[42:54] Heather Morris: So, happy Thanksgiving.
[42:56] Andrew: I can't. This is so wild because like this is like a really- I- Contender for like best song on Glee for me. I really love it.
[43:06] Heather Morris: You think so?
[43:07] Andrew: Yeah.
[43:07] Heather Morris: It's a great song. So don't get me wrong. The song and the vocals are beautiful. What I love in that song is how different everybody's voices sound.
[43:17] Andrew: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah.
[43:18] Heather Morris: And sometimes when you hear like a regional song or us singing a group song, everybody sounds different, but like it starts to mesh together a little bit. But that song, everybody looks- or I'm sorry, everybody sounds very different. And I love those Glee songs where it's like, oh, you can tell a lot of people went in the studio for this one.
[43:35] Andrew: And everybody kind of like has their right place in the song too. Sometimes it didn't always like, oh, that could have not gone to this character. But like, you know, this felt appropriate to each person.
[43:48] Heather Morris: Correct. Nia's voice was so earthy.
[43:56] Andrew: Oh yeah.
[43:56] Heather Morris: It was so earthy and just like it resonated very deeply. And I love that about her voice. And then when Corey came- am I redeeming myself?
[44:06] Andrew: Yeah. No, you're doing an apology tour.
[44:09] Heather Morris: Yeah. An apology tour.
[44:10] Andrew: Um, this isn't the mall tour.
[44:13] Heather Morris: This is a 2.0.
[44:14] Andrew: But, um, and then when Corey came in, because Corey's voice is always so good.
[44:19] Heather Morris: Oh, so good.
[44:22] Andrew: But I loved when Corey came in.
[44:23] Heather Morris: Yeah, it's really, really great.
[44:25] Andrew: Oh my gosh. And I love, um, little Vanessa Lengy's bopping around in there. She's having so much fun.
[44:31] Heather Morris: She's always pulling focus for me.
[44:33] Andrew: A hundred percent.
[44:34] Heather Morris: Like you're looking for her Easter eggs because she's always doing something random.
[44:41] Andrew: You two are kindred spirits, I feel. That like you're-
[44:46] Heather Morris: Correct.
[44:47] Andrew: From the same planet.
[44:50] Heather Morris: Correct.
[44:51] Andrew: Yeah.
[44:51] Heather Morris: The conversations that Vanessa and I can have can get really weird.
[44:55] Andrew: That is true.
[44:56] Heather Morris: Am I remembering correctly that like, did you go on like- was it David Letterman? And you had like a clip of you and Vanessa like jumping around. But it was only the point where- do you recall this at all?
[45:09] Heather Morris: Oh, a hundred percent.
[45:10] Andrew: Oh, okay.
[45:11] Heather Morris: Yeah, because it was one of the only talk shows I'd ever been on. It was my first one and I was so nervous to do it.
[45:15] Andrew: And that's a big one.
[45:16] Heather Morris: And I don't- in talk shows, you have to have a concept. You're going in there with a bit. Like you have to have a point of conversation that you're going in there with. And at that time, I- like I had no media training, which I still haven't. So who cares? Nobody does. Thanks to Jennifer Lawrence.
[45:31] Andrew: But I didn't know that, you know, they ask like, what do you want to do on the show? And I like to think that I'm a little ahead of my time. Like if I lived at the age of 21 years old in the age of now on YouTube and Instagram, I would have been killing it. Like with editing and streaming and things like that. So at that time, I had- I was like, okay, well, what am I good at? Oh, I can put together like a fun little video. And I'd seen the trend where people- it looks like they're flying and they're like bouncing around, but you're just cutting it up together.
[46:03] Heather Morris: So I'll post it with when this episode is released.
[46:11] Andrew: It's an incredible clip. It's so funny.
[46:13] Heather Morris: And it came back. I just saw it again on Instagram. Somebody started the trend up again.
[46:17] Andrew: It just like kind of gets recycled.
[46:21] Heather Morris: Every trend does.
[46:22] Andrew: Yeah.
[46:22] Heather Morris: But like it's a good bit.
[46:24] Andrew: It is a good bit. It's kind of-
[46:26] Heather Morris: Effervescent.
[46:26] Andrew: Yeah.
[46:27] Heather Morris: Yeah. Am I using that word correctly?
[46:29] Andrew: I don't know.
[46:31] Heather Morris: Effervescent.
[46:32] Andrew: So that's what that was. Is yeah, yeah. Vanessa and I, I was like, hey, Vanessa, you want to do this thing with me for Letterman? And of course she was like, yeah, sure.
[46:39] Andrew: Oh wait, you did it specifically for- I thought you just like had it. And then, no.
[46:44] Heather Morris: No, I did it for Letterman.
[46:45] Andrew: That's so funny.
[46:46] Heather Morris: That's-
[46:47] Andrew: Yeah, I didn't know what else to do. So I was like, okay, well, I'll just make him a little video.
[46:51] Heather Morris: I'll make him a little video.
[46:53] Andrew: Hi, David Letterman. I'm like a penguin. I like to like leave gifts and do things for people.
[46:58] Heather Morris: Like, Beyonce, when I left her, when I was like leaving, I wrote her like this long wind- I didn't tell her. I wrote her a long winded note.
[47:06] Andrew: Uh-huh.
[47:07] Heather Morris: And then, wait, was it received? Did you-
[47:09] Andrew: Who knows?
[47:11] Heather Morris: I don't know.
[47:11] Andrew: Oh, okay.
[47:13] Heather Morris: But like, you know what's so funny? Every once in a while, I'll see this picture of- I don't even know if it's real or not. So I'm asking you to validate it. This picture of you and Beyonce, where like you guys are both going like this.
[47:25] Heather Morris: Uh-huh, uh-huh, uh-huh. Is that a real photo?
[47:26] Andrew: So we were in, I believe we were in Indonesia. And this was like the second leg of her tour, the Beyonce experience, where we had done the States and we had done like most of Europe. And then we did a second leg where we went to really exotic countries.
[47:38] Heather Morris: Yeah.
[47:39] Andrew: Which, I mean, Indonesia isn't super exotic, but to me at the time it was.
[47:45] Heather Morris: Because, wait, remind me how old you were?
[47:51] Andrew: I was 21.
[47:53] Heather Morris: Crazy.
[47:54] Andrew: Crazy. I mean, Ashley Everett was 19.
[47:57] Heather Morris: Insane.
[47:58] Andrew: And how old was Beyonce at that time?
[48:02] Heather Morris: I think, how old is she now? Like 43, 44?
[48:06] Andrew: Yeah. Anyway, math, we'll figure it out.
[48:08] Heather Morris: Anyway.
[48:09] Andrew: Math will come around.
[48:10] Heather Morris: It will come around. Women in STEM.
[48:12] Andrew: Women in STEM.
[48:14] Heather Morris: So what were we talking about?
[48:15] Andrew: Oh, so we were in Indonesia and I had-
[48:20] Heather Morris: I, again, it was that generation where I was like super into taking pictures all the time. I kept, I still have my photo album of all the things. So that was from my photo album that I posted on Facebook and then somebody took it from there.
[48:33] Andrew: But I had taken pictures at, she threw us like a little party downstairs at a hotel and it was just the dancers and the band.
[48:38] Heather Morris: And we just hung out downstairs and-
[48:42] Andrew: So fun.
[48:43] Heather Morris: And I'm so glad, like, I am totally with you. Love taking pictures. Love taking videos. Because it's like the moment just goes by so quick. And I'm so glad that you have that, of course.
[48:55] Andrew: Yeah.
[48:56] Heather Morris: Yeah. Oh my gosh. Okay, so wait, I have a question for you.
[49:00] Andrew: Yes.
[49:00] Heather Morris: Sorry, I'm going to change subjects super quick.
[49:02] Andrew: Yeah, go ahead.
[49:03] Heather Morris: Before we go, before we finally decide who wins what. If you were to be a character on Glee, what was your character? And have you gone over this a million times and I'm-
[49:14] Andrew: No, this is a new one.
[49:16] Heather Morris: This is absolutely-
[49:17] Andrew: Okay.
[49:17] Heather Morris: Oh, cool.
[49:18] Andrew: Yay.
[49:18] Heather Morris: If I were- I feel as though what Glee was kind of missing that maybe I could play the role of. As, like, not like a singer. I can hold a tune, I think. Anyway.
[49:26] Andrew: Okay.
[49:26] Heather Morris: But I think that we needed to be a little bit meta. We needed a character that was, like, obsessed with the dynamics of the Glee Club.
[49:32] Andrew: Uh-huh.
[49:33] Heather Morris: And, like, oh my god, did you see what Brittany was wearing? Oh my god, did you see what, like, Rachel said that she was going to be singing at regionals? Like, almost like a Jacob Ben Israel character, but, like, not, like, weird or creepy. But just, like, I am obsessed with everything that goes on in this room. And I just, like, kind of being on the outside and just being, like, I need you to know that I am obsessed with all of you. I don't know if that would really work.
[50:12] Andrew: Wait, but that's a great-
[50:12] Heather Morris: Okay, so were you, like, the documenter? Like, did you document everything?
[50:15] Andrew: This character. Let's say this character is the one that's, like, the meta, watches things, the observer, talks about it. Maybe, like, the manager of the New Directions or something?
[50:25] Heather Morris: Uh-huh, uh-huh.
[50:26] Andrew: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[50:27] Heather Morris: Yeah.
[50:28] Andrew: Sometimes they needed to be managed.
[50:30] Heather Morris: Like advertising and marketing.
[50:32] Andrew: Here's how we're going to get to nationals. Here's how we can win nationals.
[50:39] Heather Morris: Yes, we're campaigning.
[50:40] Andrew: Uh-huh.
[50:41] Heather Morris: Yes!
[50:41] Andrew: And you put together the car washes.
[50:43] Heather Morris: The car washes, the bake sales, all of the things.
[50:46] Andrew: And-
[50:47] Heather Morris: I love this.
[50:47] Andrew: Do you have a name? What's your character's name?
[50:51] Heather Morris: I like the name Noah.
[50:53] Andrew: Okay, but there was a Noah, wasn't there?
[50:55] Heather Morris: Oh no, that was-
[50:56] Andrew: Oh my god!
[50:57] Heather Morris: Noah Puckerman!
[50:58] Andrew: Yeah, I can't-
[50:59] Heather Morris: No, I was like-
[51:00] Andrew: I just genuinely like that name.
[51:03] Heather Morris: It's a good name.
[51:04] Andrew: Uh, no, I can't take Noah. Ooh, I don't know. What do you see me as? What's, like, a new age name? Not like Harley, but like a Harlan, like a-
[51:16] Heather Morris: I don't know.
[51:16] Andrew: Like a newer-
[51:18] Heather Morris: I-
[51:19] Andrew: Har-
[51:20] Heather Morris: Harlan, Harley, Har-
[51:22] Andrew: Har-
[51:23] Heather Morris: You're seeing an age name.
[51:24] Andrew: I want to say Quinn, because you look like you could be a Quinn boy.
[51:27] Heather Morris: But there's famously also-
[51:28] Andrew: We already have a Quinn!
[51:29] Heather Morris: Noah Quinn.
[51:30] Andrew: Let's just name you Noah Quinn.
[51:32] Heather Morris: Do you think that I could be a Brittany?
[51:34] Andrew: Oh wait, there is already a Brittany.
[51:36] Heather Morris: Um, yeah.
[51:37] Andrew: Oh, right.
[51:38] Heather Morris: Schuster?
[51:39] Andrew: Brittany Schuster?
[51:40] Heather Morris: Should I be Rachel?
[51:43] Andrew: It'll come to us.
[51:44] Heather Morris: It will come to us. You know what? I trust that Ryan, Ian, and Brad are creating a character for me as we speak.
[51:51] Andrew: And their ideas will, you know, be eons.
[51:56] Heather Morris: What's your homework?
[51:57] Andrew: I need you to come up with your character name.
[51:58] Heather Morris: Okay.
[51:59] Andrew: Your backstory.
[52:02] Heather Morris: And, and-
[52:04] Andrew: Well, we all-
[52:05] Heather Morris: We know what your character does, what they do.
[52:07] Andrew: Who my famous guest star parents are, because everybody needs famous guest star parents.
[52:11] Heather Morris: Oh yeah.
[52:11] Andrew: What are your famous guest star parents?
[52:13] Heather Morris: Ah!
[52:13] Andrew: On the spot.
[52:14] Heather Morris: Oh my god, I need to-
[52:15] Andrew: No, you can write these down.
[52:16] Heather Morris: Come back to the next episode and you can like-
[52:18] Andrew: And I'll be like, Heather Morris gave me this really fun assignment. And here, here is my, here is my response. And it's going to be beautiful and everything that you could ever want.
[52:28] Heather Morris: Anyway, um, so the age old question is, Disco Inferno versus We Are Young.
[52:31] Andrew: I have a feeling that I know what you're voting for based on your reaction to We Are Young.
[52:39] Heather Morris: What are you voting for? Should we say on three?
[52:43] Andrew: Um, yes.
[52:45] Heather Morris: One, two, three.
[52:49] Andrew: Disco Inferno.
[52:49] Heather Morris: Disco Inferno.
[52:51] Andrew: Okay. I mean, it's, it's good. I understand what you mean. It's a little snoozy.
[52:56] Heather Morris: It's sweet.
[52:57] Andrew: We Are Young. Disco Inferno, just like-
[53:00] Heather Morris: Your tone is telling me so much.
[53:02] Andrew: What is it telling you?
[53:03] Heather Morris: Your tone of your voice is telling me how disappointed you are.
[53:07] Andrew: I am just-
[53:08] Heather Morris: Because you felt like it was iconic.
[53:10] Andrew: And I think it is. I think that We Are Young is iconic. I do need to agree with you that Disco Inferno does get my vote.
[53:17] Heather Morris: Um, but We Are Young, um, albeit a little bit of a snooze. I think it is iconic. And I think that it is contender for best song on Glee.
[53:26] Andrew: Well, of course they all are. But, um, disagree.
[53:29] Heather Morris: Agree to disagree?
[53:31] Andrew: Okay.
[53:31] Heather Morris: Hey.
[53:32] Andrew: And on that note, this is how we're leaving the conversation.
[53:37] Heather Morris: We're not seeing eye to eye.
[53:38] Andrew: Shake on it.
[53:39] Heather Morris: Yeah.
[53:40] Andrew: There we go. Wow.
[53:42] Heather Morris: Oh, real wet handshake.
[53:45] Andrew: There we go. Um, Heather Morris, genuinely, this has been one of the most fun hours of my entire life. It is dream come true vibes. Um, just to even talk to you, 15 year old me, shaking in my boots. Um, but thank you so much. Really means the world.
[54:04] Heather Morris: Thank you.
[54:05] Andrew: I look forward to hearing your character's name and who your guest star parents are.
[54:10] Heather Morris: And likewise, I had a really, really fun time hanging out with you. And you're, you're one of the most awesome girls that I know.
[54:19] Andrew: So.
[54:20] Heather Morris: Yay! Woo!
[54:21] Andrew: And I know a lot of awesome girls, so.
[54:24] Heather Morris: Thank you so much.
[54:25] Andrew: You're right up there.
[54:25] Heather Morris: Thank you again. Now you know all about Aquariuses and Enneagrams.
[54:28] Andrew: And I know that-
[54:29] Heather Morris: Off to space you go.
[54:30] Andrew: That picture with you and Beyonce was real.
[54:34] Heather Morris: Was real.
[54:35] Andrew: And the David Letterman tea.
[54:37] Heather Morris: What else did we cover?
[54:38] Andrew: Um, everything.
[54:42] Heather Morris: Everything.
[54:43] Andrew: Everything and nothing.
[54:44] Heather Morris: Everything and nothing. Thank you again, Heather. Um, I hope that you have-
[54:47] Heather Morris: Happy Thanksgiving.
[54:48] Andrew: Happy Thanksgiving. The best time. Um, and we'll see you next week with another episode.
[54:53] Heather Morris: Okay, bye!
