Kate Lumpkin (she/her) is a casting director, educator, and advocate for equity in the performing arts. She is the Founder and Lead Casting Director of Kate Lumpkin Casting, CSA, where she has cast over 40 television and film projects and more than 90 theatrical productions across the United States. Her work includes collaborations with institutions such as The Kennedy Center, American Repertory Theater, Actors Theatre of Louisville, and New York Theatre Workshop.
Lumpkin's selected casting credits encompass a range of productions, including the national tour of Bandstand, We Are The Tigers, Oscar @ The Crown, Afterglow, and We Are Here directed by Steven Hoggett. Her regional work features productions like West Side Story and On The Town at The Kennedy Center, Endlings at American Repertory Theater, and A Christmas Carol at Actors Theatre of Louisville.
In addition to casting, Lumpkin is an educator and mentor. She teaches workshops in New York and at various colleges and universities, serves as a private coach to clients worldwide, and is the Head of Education at The Broadway Collective. She also hosts Broadway WELLness, a series focused on mental health and well-being for theater professionals.
Her educational background includes studies in musical theater at Ithaca College, a degree in Anthropology and Folklore from Indiana University, and training at The William Esper Studio in New York City.
